Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed
For Democrat-affiliated political candidates seeking public office in the 2026 midterms, there appears to be a race to be the most radical and extreme.
And Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, the Democrat candidate for Senate in Michigan, has to be considered a pack leader.
After all, a truth ad that dropped right after his primary win described him as a terrorist-supporting activist whose friends believe America “deserved” 9/11 and who wants to tax waitresses and delivery drivers.

It was the NRSC that charged, “Abdulrahman Mohammad El-Sayed, the most radical senate candidate in America.” The ad includes his boast, “I’m pretty damn dangerous,” and cited his pledge of support for the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, “a designated foreign terrorist group.”
“He wants to hike taxes on Michigan waitresses, delivery drivers and seniors on Social Security.”
Further, “He joined a sex offender and a murderer to demand mass release of dangerous prisoners. And when his ally claimed America deserved 9/11 … El-Sayed refused to disavow.”
El-Sayed actually boasts of his “radical” nature, and even compares himself to another “radical.”
Jesus.

A report at RedState describes how the candidate talked of himself, during an appearance just weeks ago on “The Progressive Christians Podcast,”
El-Sayed, a follower of Islam which outright rejects the divinity of Jesus, which is a foundational belief for Christians, was asked about extreme agenda points like Medicare for all and opposing war.
“You know, Jesus, peace and blessings be upon Him, was considered radical in His time too. And there is a radical nature to being willing to stand forthright in a time of corruption.”
Incidentally, Jesus never sought political office, and he was not demanding earthly power, as he explained his kingdom was not “of this world.”
RedState said, “That’s the play. A Muslim socialist comparing himself to Jesus Christ, on a Christian podcast, to explain why his radical politics are actually fine. The full interview gives El-Sayed a little more room to explain himself. Earlier, he talked about how his Muslim faith informs his politics while rejecting the idea that Muslim political participation means forcing Islamic beliefs or laws on other people.”

The report noted the claim to be like Jesus is “not a one-off line that El-Sayed immediately moved away from.”
The report in another recent podcast appearance, he said, “If you followed the teachings of Jesus Christ, it was about upending the system against the richest and most powerful and the ways that they used their power and their money to subjugate other people. Like, that was the essential teaching.”
