Tony Romo was placed on leave by CBS Sports after his wild DUI arrest in Wisconsin.

Tony Romo, arrested a week ago on charges related to operating a vehicle while intoxicated, has been sidelined from his role as the top NFL analyst at CBS, the network announced Friday morning.
“Tony Romo is on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice,” CBS Sports said in a statement.
It is unclear to what degree the leave was negotiated with Romo – whether he agreed or even requested it so that he could manage the legal and personal ramifications of his arrest.
It is possible Romo wanted this. It is also possible it was foisted upon him by his employer, who saw putting Romo on air during this time as a bad strategy.
The network is replacing Romo with former Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt as its lead analyst. Watt will work with play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson on the No. 1 CBS announcing team.
As TGP reported, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was arrested for driving under the influence in Wisconsin last week.
The former NFL player was pulled over on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee last Thursday evening after a police officer stopped him for ‘unsafe passing on the right and lane deviation.’
Newly-released police bodycam footage shows Tony Romo arguing with a female police officer after she pulled him over and asked him to perform a field sobriety test.
Romo told the officer that he was coming from a golf course and on his way to see his grandparents.
“How many drinks have you had?” the officer asked Tony Romo.
“Zero,” Romo replied, adding that he played in a golf tournament.
The officer repeatedly demanded that Tony Romo step out of his vehicle.
“Because I’m coming from a golf course, you think I’m drunk?” Tony Romo asked the police officer as he informed her that he would be calling his lawyer.
Romo propped up his cell phone and recorded his arrest.
Police transported Tony Romo to Milwaukee County Jail and conducted a field sobriety test in the parking garage.
Romo agreed to participate in the standard field sobriety test but he performed bizarre stretches and exercises.
“Can I do an exercise?” Romo asked the officer.
Tony Romo refused to submit a breath test.
“Court records show Romo was cited for refusing to take a test for intoxication. A letter from his lawyer to the court states he was also cited for operating while under the influence, first offense. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation also filed a notice of intent to revoke Romo’s license, according to court documents,” WISN reported.
