What to Watch This Weekend (February 7-February 9)

February 6, 2025 Ogghy Filed Under: ENTERTAINMENT, IGN

Entertainment has hit critical mass over the last decade, with more shows and movies being produced and released than ever before. It’s impossible to keep up with everything hitting the digital space, whether it be Premium Video on Demand (PVOD) or a traditional streaming network. With that in mind, we figured it was well past time for us to whip up a little something to help you keep up (and catch up) with all there is to watch in the big, wide world of digital viewing. And thus, the Streaming Rewind was born!

We’ll update this list at the end of each week so you can check out what you may have missed, and what’s coming up on the weekend. We’ll keep it a mix of popular releases and noteworthy lesser-known titles to help you find what’s worth taking the risk on as well as dive into a few things that we loved and why we loved ‘em, or just break down a show or movie that left us with some opinions. Sometimes, we’ll even have guest entries from other members of the IGN staff. If you’re not interested in all that and just want to see a bulleted list of what’s out there, pop on down to the New and Noteworthy and ICYMI sections.

Severance Asks Big Questions (ongoing, Apple TV+)

Apple TV+’s psychological drama/mystery series is pushing towards the middle of its second season, and it’s bringing big themes with it. This week’s Severance, while light on goats, explores questions of autonomy between innies and outies in major ways, but it doesn’t quite reconcile those questions just yet. It’s not out of character, given that Severance has always been more of a slow-burn kind of series, but it’s definitely an episode of television that will leave you screaming at the characters to use their words. We spoke to stars Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, and Tramell Tillman as well as creator Dan Erickson about Season 2, Episode 4’s big twist, so be sure to check that out once the episode drops on Friday.

Invincible Is Back (February 6, Prime Video)

Invincible is back, this time with a normal gap between seasons and a reasonable release schedule that doesn’t leave fans wondering where the heck the rest of the story is. In Season 3, Mark (Steven Yeun) is going to be forced to reconcile not just with his past, but with his future as well. Definitely not an ominous synopsis for a character who also happens to be desperately trying to balance his life as a hero and a person. The first three episodes of Season 3 drop on February 6, with the remainder of the season coming weekly thereafter. Take a look at our piece on the most important new Invincible characters to expect in Season 3 before you dive into the new season.

It’s the Big Game! (February 9, Fox)

Football isn’t really something we talk about often on IGN dot com (although raise your hand if you remember IGN Sports from back in the day), but plenty of us nerds also happen to be pretty big fans. Shout out to the two cities who are happy with this year’s outcome while the rest of us are forced to watch the exact same Super Bowl we did last year. We’re definitely not bitter*. But, while two cities go to war, the rest of us will at least have good snacks while we root for both teams to lose**. Also, the trailers! Speaking of which, why not check out our breakdowns on the Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer and Jurassic World Rebirth trailer.

*I am a Lions fan, I am very bitter.

**Go birds.

New and Noteworthy This Week:

  • Wolf Man, February 3 — Digital and demand
  • Kinda Pregnant, February 5 — Netflix
  • Invincible Season 3 premiere, February 6 — Prime Video
  • 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards, February 7 — Peacock
  • Pokemon Horizons: The Series, February 7 — Netflix
  • Super Bowl LIX, February 9 — Fox

ICYMI:

If you had too much going on last week, here are all of the things that premiered or debuted on streaming and digital that you may have missed.

  • Moana 2, January 28 — Digital and demand
  • Den of Thieves 2, January 28 — Digital and demand
  • Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, January 29 — Disney+
  • Mythic Quest, January 29 — Apple TV+
  • Sing Sing, January 31 — Digital and Demand
  • The 67th Annual Grammy Awards, February 2 — CBS and Paramount+

GTA 6 Release Date Still Set for Fall 2025, Take-Two CEO Insists — ‘We Feel Really Good About It’

February 6, 2025 Ogghy Filed Under: ENTERTAINMENT, IGN

Grand Theft Auto 6 is still set for release in fall 2025, parent company Take-Two has insisted.

Reporting its third quarter ending December 31, 2024 financial results, the Rockstar owner listed GTA 6 for fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. It means that for now at least, GTA 6 is still on track for its previously announced release window and has not been delayed.

Speaking to IGN ahead of the release of its financial report, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that while “there’s always a risk of slippage,” the company “feel really good about it [fall 2025].”

“Look, there’s always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things,” Zelnick responded when IGN asked how confident he was that Rockstar will hit fall 2025 for GTA 6. “So we feel really good about it.”

When asked for an update on how development on GTA 6 is going, Zelnick kept his cards close to his chest.

“Look, I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally,” he said. “We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I’m fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we’re all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited.”

The GTA 6 release date is one of the hottest topics in all of entertainment, with rival publishers waiting with bated breath for Rockstar to make its announcement. Earlier this week, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said he was willing to delay the new Battlefield out of the next fiscal year depending on the release timing of its competitors’ games, a thinly veiled nod to the behemoth that is GTA 6.

While its release window remains firm, GTA 6’s much-wanted Trailer 2 has yet to materialize. We’re now over a year since Trailer 1’s release, a gap that has caused plenty of feverish fan speculation. While you wait to find out, IGN has much more on GTA 6 to check out, including an ex-Rockstar dev who says the studio probably won’t be able to decide whether GTA 6 is delayed until May 2025, Zelnick’s coy response on whether GTA 6 is coming to PC, and the expert opinion on whether the PS5 Pro will run GTA 6 at 60 frames per second.

Speaking generally about Rockstar, Take-Two said Grand Theft Auto 5 has now sold-in an incredible 210 million units worldwide. GTA Online had a “strong” quarter, led by the Agents of Sabotage update. GTA+ memberships increased 10% year-over-year in the quarter.

Red Dead Redemption 2, meanwhile, has sold-in more than 70 million copies. Take-Two noted it is currently seeing its highest level of concurrent players on Steam.

Take-Two has a busy 2025, with the just-released Civilization 7 from Firaxis, PGA Tour 2K25 and WWE 2K25 in March, Mafia: The Old Country in the summer, GTA 6 in the fall, and Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 before year-end.

“We are exceedingly optimistic about the commercial potential of our titles and believe that they will have a transformative effect on our business – and our industry – over the long term,” Take-Two said, before adding it remains “highly confident” it will achieve “sequential increases in, and record levels of, net bookings in fiscal 2026 and 2027.”

Save an Extra 20% Off HP Omen Transcend Slim Gaming Laptops With This New Coupon Code

February 6, 2025 Ogghy Filed Under: ENTERTAINMENT, IGN

Starting this week, the official HP store is offering two great deals on HP Omen Transcend laptops thanks to an extra 20% off coupon code “DUO20” that works on select Omen gaming systems:

  • Omen Transcend 16 RTX 4070 gaming laptop for $1,399.99 after coupon “DUO20“
  • Omen Transcend 14 OLED RTX 4070 gaming laptop for $1,559.99 after coupon “DUO20“

The Omen Transcend is HP’s newest gaming laptop and it’s lighter and thinner than the standard Omen, weighing in as low as 3.6lbs. It boasts better build quality and materials like a premium all-metal (aluminum) chassis, Corning gorilla glass display, and some models are even equipped with a gorgeous OLED panel. The Omen Transcend is an excellent option for anyone who wants a slim and easily portable laptop while still being able to play the latest games.

HP Omen Transcend 16″ RTX 4070 Laptop

This HP Omen Transcend 16″ gaming laptop is equipped with a 16″ 2560×1600 IPS display, Intel Core i7-14700HX CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core i7-14700HX is a powerful 20-core (28-thread) CPU with a max clock speed of 5.5GHz. It’s paired with an RTX 4070 GPU with a 130W TGP. This laptop is powerful enough to run pretty much any game out there at 60fps on the native 1600p resolution. If gaming is a priority for you, I’d recommend getting this model over the 14″ model below. Although the 14″ model is also equipped with an RTX 4070 GPU, it has a lower TGP rating (to lower power consumption and reduce heat) so it won’t perform as well.

HP Omen Transcend 14″ OLED RTX 4070 Laptop

This HP Omen Transcend 14″ gaming laptop is equipped with a gorgeous 14″ 2880×1800 OLED display, Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The newest generation Intel Core Ultra 9 185H is a power efficient, low voltage Meteor Lake CPU that’s more than powerful enough to not be a bottleneck during gaming. The RTX 4070 GPU is a nice step up from the RTX 4060 but keep in mind that the TGP has been reduced to 80W to extend battery life and reduce power consumption. Since the display sports a very high 2.8K resolution, I’d recommend dropping the resolution down to 1080p and enabling DLSS while gaming in order to hit a consistent 60fps frame rate with the most demanding games. Even so, you definitely will not find a sub-4lb laptop with this much gaming prowess at its current price point.

The Best LEGO Plants and Flowers for Building a Botanical Collection

February 6, 2025 Ogghy Filed Under: ENTERTAINMENT, IGN

Four years since its launch in 2021, the Botanical Collection has become one of LEGO’s most successful lines. Targeted at a growing adult audience, the LEGO Botanical Collection features buildable flowers and plants that are, from a distance, indistinguishable from the real ones.

That’s the point of them – to be LEGO sets for adults. Rather than collecting dust, forgotten, on a random shelf, they can hang up on a wall. Or sit on a window sill. Or be placed in a vase as a table centerpiece. This is LEGO as a lifestyle, to be decorative rather than interactive, and they make for great gifts for your loved ones.

Featured in this article

Below we’ve laid out allof the details of our 10 favorite LEGO Plants and Flowers sets you can buy right now. Most of the flower LEGO bouquets we’ve featured can be placed in a vase, while the LEGO Plant sets come with a buildable base or pot.

LEGO Bonsai Tree

  • Set: #10281
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 878
  • Dimensions: 7 inches high, 8.5 inches long, 7.5 inches wide
  • Price: $49.99

You get all of the zen aura and none of the pruning. The LEGO Bonsai Tree comes with a buildable pot and stand, and tiny bricks to create the impression of pebbles. You can also swap out the green leaves for pink blossoms, depending on your preference.

LEGO Succulents

  • Set: #10309
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 771
  • Dimensions: 5 inches high, 6.5 inches wide, 6.5 inches deep
  • Price: $49.99

Each succulent comes in its own pot, allowing you to arrange them as you please. There are nine succulent-inspired plants in total, and they’re split into three instruction booklets, allowing multiple people to tackle the build together.

LEGO Orchid

  • Set: #10311
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 608
  • Dimensions: 15 inches high, 11.5 inches wide, 9.5 inches deep
  • Price: $49.99

The orchid build strives for accuracy; LEGO advertises that this set has 5 leaves at its base and 2 wandering air roots. The stems and petals are adjustable, so that no two LEGO Orchids look exactly alike.

LEGO Wildflower Bouquet

  • Set: 10313
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 939
  • Dimensions: 18 inches tall
  • Price: $59.99

The LEGO Wildflower Bouquet is all about proper arrangement; after you build it, you’ll need a glass vase to properly display them. The bouquet has eight different flowers: cornflowers, lavender, Welsh poppies, cow parsley, leatherleaf ferns, gerbera daisies, larkspur, and lupins.

LEGO Bouquet of Roses

  • Set: #10328
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 822
  • Dimensions: 12 inches long
  • Price: $59.99

It doesn’t get more classic than a dozen roses. And the build is less repetitive than you might think; this LEGO bouquet includes roses in full bloom, roses in the process of blooming, and roses budding. Buy and build these for someone you love.

LEGO Tiny Plants

  • Set: #10329
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 758
  • Dimensions: 6.5 inches high, 4 inches wide, 2.5 inches deep
  • Price: $49.99

It’s nine plants from all over the world, housed in terracotta pots. Some of them are easy to build and some of them are difficult, which makes this an ideal set if you’re building as a family. The plants are false shamrock, jade plant, laceleaf, pincushion, pitcher plant, prickly pear, red sundew, succulents, and Venus flytrap.

LEGO Cherry Blossom

  • Set: #40725
  • Age Range: 8+
  • Piece Count: 430
  • Dimensions: 14 inches long
  • Price: $14.99

It’s only two twigs, but LEGO went all out with them. The LEGO Cherry Blossoms come with both white and pink buds, allowing you to personalize the build to your tastes. And they’re only $15, which is a steal when it comes to LEGO pricing. This is one of the best cheap LEGO sets you can buy right now.

LEGO Poinsettia

  • Set: #10370
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 608
  • Dimensions: 8 inches high, 8.5 inches wide, and 6.5 inches deep
  • Price: $49.99

The LEGO Poinsettia sits in what appears to be a woven basket. There are lots of LEGO flowers with rounded edges. But the Poinsettia, by comparison, has lots of points and sharp ends. The red petals and create a bright, visual pop.

LEGO Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet

  • Set: #10342
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 749
  • Dimensions: 12.5 inches tall
  • Price: $59.99

We built this set for Valentine’s Day, and we were impressed by both its color palette and its various building techniques. The set includes nine different plants and flowers: daisy, cornflower, eucalyptus, elderflower, rose, ranunculus, cymbidium orchid, waterlily dahlia, and campanula.

LEGO Flower Arrangement

  • Set: #10345
  • Age Range: 18+
  • Piece Count: 1161
  • Dimensions: 10 inches high, 12.5 inches wide, 9 inches deep
  • Price: $109.99

The most expensive and elaborate Botanical Collection set to date, the Flower Arrangement has large blossoms of baby’s breath, bouvardia, camellias, hydrangeas, peonies, lilies, and ranunculus. You mount these vividly colored flowers onto a white pedestal vase. The vase can accommodate other LEGO Botanical sets in case you want to personalize your arrangement further.

How Many LEGO Plant and Flower Sets Are There?

According to the filter search option on LEGO’s official site, there are 21 LEGO Botanical Collection sets available for purchase as of January 2025.

Why LEGO Botanical Collection?

The LEGO Botanical Collection is a fantastic entry point for new builders; the sets are fairly simple to put together, and the end results can brighten a room. They are pretty and quirky, requiring neither water nor sunlight to keep them looking fresh.

And secondly, these sets make excellent gifts for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, graduations, and more. For any holidays that celebrate loved ones or family, LEGO has you covered.

Don’t Wait for an RTX 5080: The HP Omen RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC Is Just as Powerful for Less

February 6, 2025 Ogghy Filed Under: ENTERTAINMENT, IGN

Our review for the new RTX 5080 GPU is out, and it turns out that performance is nearly identical to the RTX 4080 Super. To make matters worse, it’s impossible to find one in stock, and prebuilt RTX 5080 systems are currently priced over $2,500. If you’re thinking of upgrading, I’d suggest you consider an RTX 40-series GPU instead. For example, HP has an HP Omen 35L RTX 4080 Super gaming PC for as low as $1,839.99 after you apply a 20% off coupon code “DUO20“. That’s an excellent price for a liquid cooled gaming PC that will handle any game you can throw at it at any resolution.

HP Omen 35L RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC for $1,840

This particular system is preconfigured with an Intel Core Ultra 5 245K CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 Super GPU, 16GB of DDR5-6000MHz RAM, and a 512GB SSD for $1,699.99. Upgrade to the RTX 4080 Super graphics card for an extra $600, for a total of $2,299.99. Apply 20% off coupon code “DUO20” in your shopping cart to get the final $1,839.99 price.

The Intel Core Ultra 5 is the latest generation Intel Meteor Lake 14-core CPU with a max turbo frequency of 5.2GHz. This is a very capable processor that’s a solid pick for both gaming and workstation tasks, is AI optimized thanks to a discrete NPU, and uses less power than previous generation CPUs. You have the option of upgrading to a Core Ultra 7 or even a 9, but you won’t see much of an improvement in high resolution gaming, since performance is mostly GPU-bound.

The RTX 4080 Super is Nvidia’s second most powerful RTX 40 series card. You’ll be able to handle any game in 4K at high frame rates, even with ray tracing enabled. It’s 5-10% faster in performance than the RTX 4080 thanks to its higher base clock speed, higher CUDA core count, and higher memory bandwidth. It trades blows with AMD’s most powerful GPU, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, but the RTX 4080 Super pulls ahead in ray tracing performance and where DLSS 3.0 is supported. It’s nearly identical in performance to the new RTX 5080 GPU and also has the same amount of VRAM.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super Review by Jacqueline Thomas

“The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Super, just like the original RTX 4080, is a 4K graphics card through and through. In every test, this GPU excels at that high resolution with plenty of room to spare, especially if you utilize Nvidia’s DLSS. Even in games without DLSS or ray tracing, like Total War: Warhammer 3, the RTX 4080 Super is a monster at 4K, scoring 79fps, compared to 76 from the RTX 4080 and 86 from the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX.”

Consider This Upgraded RTX 4080 Super Config for $2,264

If you want to avoid the hassle of picking out your own components and get an upgraded pre-configured system, then check out this Omen 35L. For a bit less than $200 more, it’s chock full of better components that make it a more powerful system overall. These upgrades include:

  • Intel Core Ultra 5 CPU upgraded to Intel Core Ultra 7 285K CPU
  • 16GB RAM upgraded to 32GB of RAM
  • 512GB SSD upgraded to 2TB SSD
  • WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 upgraded to WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 4.0
  • Windows 11 Home upgraded to Windows 11 Pro
  • 240mm aRGB liquid cooler upgraded to 240mm LCD liquid cooler

What’s new about the Omen 35L?

The Omen 35L is HP’s newest chassis, and it is redesigned to provide ample amounts of cooling in a smaller design. Most of the internal components are now off-the-shelf form factors that can be more easily swapped and upgraded on your own. The front panel contains two 140mm intake fans with sufficient ventilation, and a 120mm rear fan and top-mounted 240mm all-in-one liquid cooling system serves as the exhaust, while also siphoning heat away from the CPU.

The Bigger Omen 45L RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC Is on Sale

The Omen 45L is HP’s biggest and most premium chassis. It’s equipped with an Intel Core i7-14700K processor, RTX 4080 Super GPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It’s on sale right now for $2,299.99 but unfortunately the 20% off coupon code does not work on this particular model.

We don’t try to trick our readers into buying things they don’t need at prices that aren’t worth buying something at. Our ultimate goal is to surface the best possible deals from brands we trust and our editorial team has personal experience with. You can check out our deals standards here for more information on our process, or keep up with the latest deals we find on IGN’s Deals account on Twitter.

Eric Song is the IGN commerce manager in charge of finding the best gaming and tech deals every day. When Eric isn’t hunting for deals for other people at work, he’s hunting for deals for himself during his free time.
