Biden judge demands Pete Hegseth retract X post about transgenders

A Biden-appointed federal judge demanded in a Wednesday hearing that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth retract an X post regarding his policy to restrict transgender troops in the military.

Washington, D.C., District Court Judge Ana Reyes, during arguments regarding the Pentagon’s attempt to ban transgender individuals from the military, demanded that Hegseth remove the post by Monday, according to Fox News. Reyes had previously said in arguments regarding the ban that the existence of only two biological sexes, male and female, was not “biologically correct.”

Reyes was appointed under former President Joe Biden in 2023, serving as the first LGBT federal judge in D.C.

“Pentagon says transgender troops are disqualified from service without an exemption” https://t.co/VGa16iZKqf

— Pete Hegseth (@PeteHegseth) February 27, 2025

Moreover, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a complaint with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals against Reyes in February, alleging she engaged in “hostile and egregious misconduct” when she questioned a DOJ attorney on his religious views during arguments in a manner that “compromised the dignity of the proceedings and demonstrated potential bias.”

The DOJ lawyers argued that Hegseth was using “shorthand” in his post that appeared to say they were barred without an exemption, urging Reyes to consider the exact wording of the policy.

“Do you really think you can do that, say one thing in public and then come here to court and say something else entirely?” Reyes asked in the hearing. “His words are that this covers all transgender people. I’m not going to speculate that he was just being sloppy.”

President Donald Trump issued an executive order Jan. 27 that ordered the Pentagon to update “trans-identifying medical standards for military service” and to “rescind guidance inconsistent with military readiness.” The policy allows for waivers to be granted in special cases.

A myriad of transgender activist groups sued the Trump administration in January arguing that the ban was unconstitutional under equal protection granted by the Fifth Amendment.

The Pentagon declined to comment on the litigation.

Tasty! Watch Border Czar Tom Homan munch on apple, smirk as he faces protesters

Border czar Tom Homan appeared to calmly eat an apple on Wednesday while walking past protesters shouting at him about deportations during his visit to the New York state capitol in Albany.

Homan was in Albany to criticize the state’s sanctuary law and to support efforts by Republican lawmakers to pass a state version of the Laken Riley Act, the New York Post reported. Video posted by City and State New York associate state politics reporter Austin Jefferson showed Homan eating an apple and smirking as he passed the protesters, who were blocked by police.

“No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here!” the protesters chanted.

Other protesters shouted at Homan about the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after his green card was revoked over his leadership of pro-Hamas protests at Columbia University. United States District Judge Jesse Furman of the Southern District of New York issued an injunction blocking Khalil’s deportation Tuesday.

Following the Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel by the terrorist group Hamas, protesters have taken over several college campuses in the U.S., occupying buildings, chanting anti-Israel slogans and blocking Jewish students from parts of campus. Several anti-Israel protests took place at Columbia University.

In response, the Trump administration warned colleges that failure to prevent harassment of Jewish students could result in consequences. The State Department has also warned that students residing in the U.S. on a visa who express support for terrorist organizations are at risk of deportation.

“Don’t you believe in the First Amendment?” another protester shouted at Homan on Wednesday.

Homan has led the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration enforcement, arresting and deporting violent criminals who resided in the U.S. illegally.

Republicans in the New York state legislature introduced a bill in the state assembly and state senate that would require state officials to notify ICE when non-citizens are arrested for misdemeanors. The bill mirrors the Laken Riley Act, which Trump signed into law on Jan. 29.

Over 200,000 migrants have arrived in New York City since 2022, the New York Times reported, prompting Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams to announce a number of budget cuts in November 2023.

(NEW YORK POST) — An Indiana mom of three miraculously survived nearly a week trapped in her car — by using her sweatshirt to drink water — after she’d fallen asleep at the wheel and crashed into a ditch.

Brieonna Cassell, 41, was found Tuesday stuck in her Ford Taurus in a ditch about 80 miles outside of Chicago, where the car had become partially submerged in a streambed and was completely invisible from the roadway above.

“She was in excruciating pain, she was screaming out for help,” her father, Delmar Caldwell, told WLS after the incredible rescue. “She could hear cars going by, but they couldn’t see her from the road.”

Trump makes good on threats to pull funding from Maine due to trans sports defiance

March 12, 2025 Ogghy Filed Under: THE NEWS, WND

President Donald Trump has halted funding for research and programs at the University of Maine System following the state’s governor’s defiance of his executive order slashing funding for states that allow men to compete in women’s sports.

Maine Gov. Janet Mills publicly opposed the Feb. 5 executive order protecting women’s sports from transgender intrusion. Mills yelled “See you in court” at the president during a Feb. 21 National Governors Association event at the White House after Trump called her out for not complying with the executive order.

“You better comply, you better comply, because otherwise you’re not getting any federal funding,” Trump vowed.

“Enjoy your life after governor because I don’t think you’ll be in elected government.”

That same day, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights announced a review of the Maine Department of Education, including the University of Maine System, “based on information that Maine intends to defy this executive order” and “will continue to allow biological males to compete in women’s sports.”

The University of Maine System, a network of eight public colleges in the state, received an email March 11 revealing that Trump was making good on the threat.

The Department of Agriculture’s chief financial officer ordered all payments to be paused while the department “evaluates if it should take any follow-on actions” related to possible violations at the school.

“This pause is temporary in nature while USDA evaluates if it should take any follow-on actions related to prospective Title VI or Title IX violations,” the email to the university system says. “Please take any necessary actions to effectuate this direction from leadership. This pause will remain in effect until further notice.”

An online recall petition calling for the removal of Mills from office has gathered nearly 30,000 signatures since it was posted last week.

Maine’s fight against women sports has a prominent dissenter from within, state Rep. Laurel Libby.

Libby filed a federal lawsuit against Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau for censuring her after she sounded the alarm on a biological male student beating his female competitors at the Maine State Class B Championship in pole vault for girls.

She is now suing to get her speaking privileges back in the state House of Representatives.

“Biological males have no place in girls sports,” Libby said in a statement. “Our girls have every right, under federal law, to fair competition in sports. We will not let them be erased by the Democrat majority advancing a woke progressive agenda.”

‘He used to be Jewish’: Watch Trump call Chuck Schumer a ‘Palestinian’

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is basically “a Palestinian” at this point, due to the Jewish senator’s current positions on the Israel-Hamas war.

TRUMP: “Schumer is a Palestinian as far as I’m concerned. He’s become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He’s not Jewish anymore. He’s a Palestinian.” https://t.co/RXAWso2Eus pic.twitter.com/VepNA4ey8u

“Schumer is a Palestinian as far as I’m concerned. He’s become a Palestinian,” Trump said. “He used to be Jewish. He’s not Jewish anymore. He’s a Palestinian.”

Trump was speaking during an Oval Office meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin.

The president also indicated Palestinians will not be displaced from the Gaza Strip while the war zone is rebuilt.

“No one is expelling anyone from Gaza,” he said.

TRUMP: Nobody is expelling any Palestinians. Who are you with?

The prime minister of Ireland’s visit to the White House coincides with the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

Mr. Martin acknowledged the close ties between the United States and Ireland, even as Mr. Trump – with Martin right next to him – told reporters the country is one of the European Union members who has not been fair to America on trade.

In the same meeting, Mr. Trump was asked if he has plans to respond to the latest round of tariffs imposed by the E.U.

“Of course I will respond,” he told reporters.

Tariffs remain top of mind abroad and across North America, as the president walked back 50% tariffs on Canada which were meant to go into effect Wednesday. This came after hours-long phone meetings with top-level officials from both countries.

For now, tariffs remain one of Trump’s sharpest negotiating tactics. It remains to be seen whether whiplash over how quickly they are implemented and removed will wear out their usefulness.

‘Not normal’: College charged with bucking state’s new restroom law

A legal group is urging government officials to investigate an Ohio college it says is violating a state law and federal Title IX by forcing female students to share restrooms with men.

America First Legal, or AFL, has written to both the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, asking them to investigate Kenyon College, a private school located in Gambier, Ohio.

AFL notes that on Feb. 12, Kenyon President Julie Kornfeld and top administrators issued a statement saying, “[t]he law prohibits Kenyon from knowingly permitting members of the ‘male biological sex’ to use multi-occupancy student restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms or shower rooms designated for use by members of the ‘female biological sex,’ and vice versa.”

Kornfeld, however, says that no changes would be made to multi-occupancy restrooms in administrative and academic buildings on campus, claiming that these restrooms “are not considered student restrooms within the meaning of the Ohio law, as they are not, and cannot be, designated for use exclusively by students.”

America First Legal asserts, “Kenyon’s policy forces women to share intimate facilities in all academic and admissions buildings on campus with men.”

According to AFL, the new law, signed by Gov. Mike DeWine in November, “explicitly prohibits academic institutions from constructing, establishing, or maintaining a multi-occupancy restrooms that are not designated for either men or women.”

The organization also appealed to President Trump’s executive order “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government,” which establishes that there are only two sexes, male and female, and that intimate spaces are determined by biological sex, not by “identity,” and must be designated accordingly.

Will Scolinos, AFL counsel, stated, “Ohio law is clear: multi-occupancy restrooms must be designated for either men or women. Schools of higher education should focus more on educating students rather than re-educating them into radical gender policies that require students, men and women, to share the same restrooms. It is not normal. America First Legal will to stand up for the rule of law for all Americans – the fight requires undoing the damage caused by radical administrators at institutions of ‘higher education’ and making common sense common again.”
