‘Utterly insane’: State requires parents declare newborn’s ‘gender identity’

A New Jersey hospital is raising eyebrows over a form it asks parents of newborns to complete that includes questions about the baby’s “gender identity” and “sexual orientation” – a requirement of state law.

The law was passed in 2022 as a means to collect information about patients in hospitals around the state – and newborns are officially “patients” in health care facilities.

As reported at New Jersey 101.5, last week, the “Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Questionnaire” distributed at an Inspira Health hospital caught the attention of state Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi, a Republican.

The form asks parents if their newborn baby is lesbian or gay, straight, bisexual, or questioning, and also if their offspring is male, female, transgender, genderqueer, or another gender not on the list.

(Holly Schepisi, Facebook)

“Medical providers, laboratories and hospitals are being forced to provide the questionnaire below to NEWBORN patients,” Schepisi said on Facebook. “While completely and utterly insane, these facilities are doing so to comply with another nonsensical law.”

The law (A4385/S2933) requires hospitals “to collect race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity in a culturally competent and sensitive manner” – yet makes no exemption for age.

In a statement to NJ.com, Inspira spokesman Paul Simon said the hospital was following the law.

“Inspira Health, along with every other acute care hospital in New Jersey, is required by New Jersey law and the State of New Jersey Department of Health to request their patients provide their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity,” Simon said.

“You may not want to believe it’s real but it is, and on the upside at least you deep down now understand how absurd things have become in New Jersey,” Schepisi told New Jersey 101.5.

The Republican vowed to introduce a bill to rescind the requirement.

A rapper is singing a politically incorrect tune as he says Black Lives Matter is “literally a scam.”

The singer is Lil Yachty who made the comment during an appearance on a cooking show with Quenlin Blackwell.

During the pair’s kitchen discussion, Blackwell asked Lil Yachty: “You spent $100,000 own a trip to Disney once. How much have you spent on charitable causes this year?”

“It’s just blurry, I’ve been doing so much,” the rapper said.

“BLM?” asked Blackwell.

“BLM is a scam,” the rapper said matter of factly.

“BLM was, it was literally a scam. They had bought mansions. You probably wouldn’t know anything about it because you don’t care about black people.”

Blackwell responded as she caressed her arms: “I do care about black people. Look at my chocolate. You’re mad.”

“It’s a disguise,” the rapper quipped.

“I think I’m literally the most pro-black person in this room,” she added.

“Because you have an all-white staff?” the singer asked.

“They’re not white. They’re P.O.C. [persons of color],” Blackwell replied.

Is the news we hear every day actually broadcasting messages from God? The answer is an absolute yes! Find out how!

Just this week, Black Lives Matter Plaza near the White House in Washington, D.C., was being dismantled by the city after the local government agreed to retire it due to federal funding threats from Congress.

In 2021, Patrice Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, departed from her role as the organization’s executive director amid reports of enriching herself.

Cullors “decried what she called a smear campaign from a far-right group, but said neither that nor recent criticism from other black organizers influenced her departure,” the AP reported.

BLM Global Network had previously offered a vigorous defense for Cullors in April 2021 after reports revealed she had purchased four homes across the country for a total of $3.2 million since 2016.

Europe launches retaliatory tariffs, targeting U.S. products predominantly from Republican states

The European Union (EU) on Wednesday announced retaliatory trade measures against the U.S. with a slew of new tariffs on American industrial and farm products.

The European Commission is levying sweeping tariffs on up to $28 billion worth of U.S. goods, according to a press release. The EU’s decision comes after President Donald Trump’s 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports from all U.S. trading partners went into effect at midnight Wednesday.

Notably, the Commission’s new tariffs particularly target products that predominantly come from Republican-led states. The retaliatory tariffs are set to begin taking effect on April 1, according to the press release.

Since returning to the Oval Office, Trump has been leading an effort to reshape the global trade industry and reduce America’s dependence on foreign countries as part of his broader “America First” agenda. A host of foreign investors, major businesses and foreign countries have pledged in recent weeks to invest hefty sums of money into the U.S. over the next few years.

The U.S. has been engaged in an ongoing trade dispute with several foreign countries, including China, Canada and Mexico. Trump on Tuesday announced that he was doubling his previously announced 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada.

Relatedly, the U.S. is one of the EU’s largest trading partners. The amount of U.S. goods exported to the EU in 2024 totaled $370.2 billion, up 0.7% from 2023, while U.S goods imported from the EU in 2024 totaled $605.8 billion, according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

“The EU deeply regrets the U.S. decision to reintroduce tariffs on imports of European steel and aluminium and products containing it,” Olof Gill, a European Commission spokesperson, said in a statement shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation. “We call on the U.S. to immediately revoke these tariffs and avoid the unnecessary trade escalation. The U.S. tariffs will weaken transatlantic trade and supply chains, raise costs for US businesses and citizens, and fuel inflation in the U.S. They will affect EUR 26 billion of EU exports. This is approximately 5% of total EU exports to the U.S. It could result in U.S. importers having to pay up to EUR 6 billion in additional import tariffs. We see no justification for these tariffs on EU exports. The EU is not part of the problem – it is part of the solution – and its exports present no national security threat to the U.S. The EU and the U.S. should instead cooperate with other G7 partners and beyond on solving common challenges, such as global steel and aluminium overcapacity, which threatens the viability of the metal producing sectors on both sides of the Atlantic.”

“The EU will now respond to these measures swiftly, firmly and proportionately,” Gill added. “The EU will continue to take the necessary action to protect the interests of European businesses, workers and consumers. The EU stands ready to find a negotiated solution with the U.S. Its countermeasures can be reversed at any time if such a solution is found.”

Woke NASA promoted ‘gender affirmation’ and workplace diversity in DEI spending spree

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) introduced a sweeping number of new diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives under the Biden-Harris administration, a report released Wednesday found.

NASA enacted various DEI-related efforts over the past four years, including issuing guidelines to its staff on ways to better support any employees going through “gender transition,” and introducing coursework that heavily promoted diversity, according to a new report from OpenTheBooks.

The government agency also spent hefty sums on DEI-related contracts between 2021 and 2024, such as shelling out $2,366,122 to LMI Consulting to “incorporate and deeply engrain” DEI and accessibility “in the culture and business” of NASA alongside an additional $182,281 for “diversity training.” Another contract to the Neuroleadership Institute provided $90,000 for “diversity training,” the report found.

NASA also awarded a $74,000 grant to Cook Ross, Inc. for “Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Training,” OpenTheBooks found. The agency also provided DEI-related grants to some universities and non-profit institutes, such as a $100,000 grant to the Planetary Science Institute to “help NASA’s planetary science workforce to become more diverse and equitable” because “diversity and inclusiveness along gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, generational, and other axes is a business as well as a social imperative,” according to the report’s findings.

In 2022, NASA provided employees with a 22-page information packet titled “NASA Guidance for Supporting Gender Transition/Affirmation in the Workplace,” according to a document a whistleblower shared with OpenTheBooks. The document aimed to “help all individuals at NASA” maintain “an inclusive and supportive workplace for gender transition and affirmation.”

Notably, the document also told NASA staffers that “a transitioning employee may use the restroom, locker room, or other facility that they feel most comfortable using.” The packet said that if another employee has a concern about this, “the transitioning employee should not be asked or required to use an alternate facility in order to accommodate such concerns.”

Moreover, the document also encouraged NASA staff to “be willing and available to collaborate with the transitioning employee on the development, implementation, and evolution of a Workplace Gender.”

The agency also promoted professional development coursework that contained DEI-related messaging, including one titled “Diversity All In,” which is a three-and-a-half-hour course that “provides a common understanding and language for diversity and inclusion,” as well as “The Power of Inclusion,” a separate three-hour course on how to “engage men to advance women in leadership positions,” according to the report.

Relatedly, the report found that NASA promoted coursework involving a book called “Diversity Beyond Lip Service: A Coaching Guide for Challenging Bias,” which advertised that “a deeper level of candor and vulnerability is needed to move the needle towards real progress.”

NASA also released an “Executive Performance Management” document that indicates that executive performance plans in 2023 were “updated to include a diversity, equity, and inclusion” element, meaning that staff’s work performance was evaluated on how closely the staffers conformed to DEI ideology, OpenTheBooks states in their report.

Several of the suggested actions in the document heavily promoted DEI, such as practicing “allyship,” emphasizing “social justice and inclusion,” and striving to “advance the interests of underrepresented or marginalized groups.”

Former President Joe Biden signed an executive order on his first day in office aimed at “advancing equity and racial justice through the federal government,” which opened up the floodgates for hundreds of DEI-related programs to be implemented at dozens of government agencies during his sole term. Biden’s Department of Justice also awarded K-12 schools over $100 million in grants aimed at increasing DEI initiatives.

President Donald Trump has been leading a massive push to dismantle DEI initiatives across the federal government, including signing a Jan. 20 executive order to end “wasteful” and “radical” DEI programs at all government agencies. The Trump administration has also been cracking down on DEI programs at K-12 schools and universities across the U.S., leading to massive pushback from many Democrats.

Various companies have been scaling down on their DEI policies over the past year amid increasing scrutiny from consumers, shareholders and Conservative activists, including Walmart, Boeing and Lowe’s.

NASA did not respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.

‘Another one!’ Longtime Senate Democrat announces not running for reelection

New Hampshire Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen announced she will not seek reelection in a video posted to social media Wednesday morning.

The announcement from the 78 years-old senator came after the New Hampshire Democrat faced intense speculation about whether she would retire instead of seeking a fourth term. Shaheen’s retirement announcement will likely put the New Hampshire Senate seat in play during the 2026 midterms.

Today, after careful consideration, I’m announcing that I have made the difficult decision not to seek reelection to the Senate in 2026.

There are urgent challenges ahead, both here at home and around the world. And while I’m not seeking re-election – believe me – I am not… pic.twitter.com/h0urg7ZZx6

— Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (@SenatorShaheen) March 12, 2025

“Another one!” National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman Tim Scott of South Carolina said following Shaheen’s retirement announcement. “Shaheen’s retirement is welcome news for Granite Staters eager for new leadership. New Hampshire has a proud tradition of electing common-sense Republicans — and will do so again in 2026!”

Shaheen would have been 85 at the end of another six-year term in January 2033, making her older than all but one senator in the upper chamber today.

New Hampshire voters are concerned about how Shaheen’s age would have impacted her ability to continue serving in the upper chamber, according to recent polling.

Roughly 60% of New Hampshire residents say they are concerned that Shaheen’s age would impact her ability to serve for a fourth term, according to a survey of 626 registered voters conducted by Praecones Analytica for NHJournal between Feb. 26 and March 1. Just over 16% of voters told the pollster they were “not concerned at all” about the senator’s age.

MSNBC Host Chris Hayes criticized Shaheen for considering a run for a fourth term in December.

“Democrats are not taking this [age] issue seriously, and they need to,” Hayes said during a Dec. 17 “All In with Chris Hayes” episode. “[T]his is nothing against Shaheen personally. But according to Pew Research Center polling from just last year, 79% of Americans support age limits for politicians in Washington.”

Shaheen’s retirement announcement comes after Democratic Sens. Gary Peters of Michigan and Tina Smith of Minnesota announced they would not seek reelection.

‘It’s insulting’: Watch Karoline Leavitt get into testy exchange with national reporter lecturing her

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt got into a heated debate with Associated Press White House reporter Josh Boak Tuesday as he confronted her on President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

Trump initially announced 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, along with a 10% tariff on China, over the nations’ involvement in allowing illegal immigration and drugs to flood into the U.S., though he has since doubled the tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum. Boak alleged that Trump is imposing “tax hikes” through tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China rather than implementing tax cuts like he campaigned on, which Leavitt immediately disputed.

“If we could just step back for a second, when President Trump last addressed the [Business Roundtable], his big push was on tax cuts. He’s going there today as he’s proposing tax hikes in the form of tariffs,” Boak said. “I’m curious why he’s prioritizing that over the tax cuts.”

“He’s actually not implementing tax hikes. Tariffs are a tax hike on foreign countries that again have been ripping us off. Tariffs are a tax cut for the American people and the president is a staunch advocate of tax cuts, as you know,” Leavitt said. “He campaigned on no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, no taxes on Social Security benefits. He is committed to all three of those things and he expects Congress to pass them later this year.”

WATCH:

As Boak attempted to explain how tariffs work, the press secretary promised revenues will return to the U.S. and wages will increase due to “fair and balanced trade.”

“I’m sorry, but have you ever paid a tariff, because I have,” Boak continued. “They don’t get charged on foreign companies, they get charged on the importers.”

“And ultimately, when we have fair and balanced trade, which the American people have not seen in decades, as I said at the beginning, revenues will stay here, wages will go up and our country will be made wealthy again,” Leavitt fired back. “And I think it’s insulting that you’re trying to test my knowledge of economics and the decisions that this president has made. I now regret giving a question to the Associated Press.”

The White House banned the AP from the Oval Office and Air Force One over their refusal to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. The AP sued Leavitt, chief of staff Susie Wiles and deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich, though a judge refused to immediately to restore the outlet’s access.

Trump announced his plan Tuesday to double his tariffs on Canada, which is set to take effect Wednesday, due to Ontario’s 25% tariff on electricity coming into the U.S. The new 50% tariff will be placed on all steel and aluminum entering the U.S. from Canada.

The president said the administration would impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China on Feb. 4, with a reciprocal tariff clause. Mexico and Canada immediately caved to Trump by imposing stricter enforcement on the U.S.-Mexico border and the fentanyl epidemic, causing a one-month postponement on the tariffs.

Trump announced in a Feb. 27 Truth Social post that he planned to double the tariffs on China to 20% and move forward with the tariffs on Mexico and Canada over the “very high and unacceptable levels” of drugs pouring into the U.S. After saying there was “no room” for any negotiations on the tariffs, the president delayed the tariffs on Mexican imports Thursday covered by the existing U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a trade deal between the North American states, until April 2.

The U.S. stock market slid on Monday as the Dow dropped almost 900 points and the S&P 500 fell 2.7%.

If American Bar Association keeps forcing DEI on law schools, it should lose accreditation authority

March 12, 2025 Ogghy Filed Under: THE NEWS, WND

(Pexels)

(Pexels)

Virtually every law school in America must be accredited by the American Bar Association, an organization that has abused this position of trust to push a radical leftist agenda on law students, including policies that violate the law itself.

The American Bar Association has long held an undeserved position as a vaunted legal institution—largely through the imprimatur certain government largesse has given it.

For instance, since 1965, when Congress passed the Higher Education Act, the U.S. Department of Education has recognized the ABA as the sole accrediting agency for American law schools.

On top of that, nearly every state requires those seeking admission to its bar to have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school.

Yet the ABA’s radical leftist agenda has been painfully apparent with several of its recent actions, including its dangerous statement that the Equal Rights Amendment had been ratified as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution when, in fact, it had not been. The ABA’s position was so partisan and radical that even then-President Joe Biden’s archivist of the United States, who certifies new amendments to the Constitution, rejected it out of hand.

Additionally, the ABA has also sued the Trump administration and issued mendacious statements about the need for lawyers to stand up to protect the rule of law in response to President Donald Trump’s actions. Interestingly, the ABA remained eerily silent when Democrat senators such as Chuck Schumer and Sheldon Whitehouse threatened sitting Supreme Court justices and made clear their intent to undermine public confidence in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Given its overt opposition and disdain for Trump (and really anyone who doesn’t embrace a radical leftist agenda), it makes sense that conservative lawyers are using common sense to call for removing the ABA from its privileged position of vetting judicial nominees to the federal bench—a position the Trump Justice Department seems ready to embrace.

Despite all of these misdeeds, the ABA’s most problematic positions have been when it has tried to use its quasi-governmental accrediting power to force law schools to violate the law.

Yes, you heard that right. The ABA, with its stated mission of serving the legal profession and the public “by defending liberty and delivering justice as the national representative of the legal profession,” has tried to force law schools to break the law. (Set aside the facts that the ABA hasn’t defended liberty or delivered justice and certainly isn’t a national representative of the legal profession.)

Specifically, the ABA has tried to force law schools to discriminate in admissions and employment on the basis of race.

No, this isn’t a tale from bygone days. Instead, it’s a sad story playing out in real time today.

What’s particularly galling has been the ABA’s position that its own rules trump any other law—even the U.S. Constitution!

When the ABA first received pushback to its proposed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Standard (Standard 206) that law schools must meet to keep accreditation, it had the audacity to issue a statement saying, “The requirement of a constitutional provision or statute that purports to prohibit consideration of race, color, ethnicity, … [etc.] in admissions or employment decisions is not a justification for a schools noncompliance with Standard 206.”

In other words, the ABA said that schools had to comply with its discriminatory race-based standards for admissions and employment, regardless of what the Constitution or the law states.

Lest its intent be misunderstood, it later clarified: “To ensure the effective educational use of diversity, a law school should include among its faculty, staff, and student [body] members of all underrepresented groups, but should be particularly focused on those groups that historically have been underrepresented in the legal profession because of race or ethnicity.”

Worse still, as Attorney General Pam Bondi recently pointed out, the ABA left law schools in legal limbo for more than 18 months after the U.S. Supreme Court made clear that such racial discrimination is illegal—though that already should have been clear.

It’s a welcome development that the ABA temporarily suspended enforcement of Standard 206, but as Bondi pointed out, this temporary halt isn’t enough. In noting its temporary pause on enforcement, the ABA said that its “commitment to ensuring access to legal education to all people, including those who have been historically excluded from the legal profession … has not changed.” In other words, as Bondi said, its “commitment to DEI” remains in place.

In a letter to ABA leaders, Bondi made clear that “if diversity is defined in terms of race and sex outcomes, [as the ABA continues to do regardless of Standard 206], universities cannot lawfully pursue diversity by any means.”

Bondi noted that the ABA’s “status as the sole accrediting body of American law schools is a privilege, and mandatory diversity objectives are an abuse of that privilege, which is subject to revocation.” She continued, saying that even “if it does not come to that, it is unclear how state bars can lawfully continue to require prospective lawyers to attend ABA-accredited law schools if the [ABA] continues to abuse its privilege in this way.”

She closed by making clear that the “Department of Justice stands ready to take every action necessary to prevent further abuse.”

And to that, I say kudos to Bondi for standing ready to take these long-overdue actions.

Pro-Hamas Columbia student’s arrest first of ‘continuous and ongoing effort,’ White House says

The arrest of terrorist-sympathizing former Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil is part of a larger effort to root out antisemitism from American universities, The Daily Signal has learned.

Federal immigration officials arrested Khalil, a green card holder, for allegedly circulating “pro-Hamas propaganda flyers.”

President Donald Trump said his arrest would be the “first of many,” and a White House official confirmed Khalil’s case is only the beginning of a crackdown on terrorist sympathizers.

“This will be a continuous and ongoing effort to identify individuals who are guests of this country who are supporting antisemitic terrorist organizations,” the White House official told The Daily Signal.

The Department of Homeland Security said Khalil is accused of leading “activities aligned to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Secretary of State Marco Rubio has the right to revoke a green card for individuals who are adversarial to the foreign policy and national security interests of the United States.

“Mahmoud Khalil was an individual who was given the privilege of coming to this country to study at one of our nation’s finest universities and colleges,” Leavitt told reporters at Tuesday’s briefing, “and he took advantage of that opportunity, of that privilege, by siding with terrorists, Hamas, terrorists who have killed innocent men, women, and children.”

“This is an individual who organized group protests that not only disrupted college campus classes and harassed Jewish-American students and made them feel unsafe on their own college campus, but also distributed pro-Hamas propaganda flyers with the logo of Hamas,” she continued.

The Trump administration has taken a hard stance against antisemitism on college campuses.

The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights sent letters to 60 higher education institutions to warn them to protect Jewish students on campus from anti-Israel intimidation.

Many Democrats, however, have sided with Khalil. Fourteen Democrats penned a letter to the Trump administration urging the release of the Hamas-sympathizing student.

I’m joining 13 of my colleagues to demand that the Trump Administration immediately releases Mahmoud Khalil. Their illegal actions set a dangerous precedent. We cannot allow them to shred our constitutional rights to free speech and due process. Free Mahmoud Khalil. pic.twitter.com/G9YxBeDZvh

— Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (@RepRashida) March 11, 2025

Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats posted “Free Mahmoud Khalil” on X.

Students have taken to the streets of New York City to protest the arrest.

Leavitt said the Trump administration will not tolerate “individuals having the privilege of studying in our country and then siding with pro-terrorist organizations that have killed Americans.”

“We have a zero-tolerance policy for siding with terrorists, period,” she said.
