The Detectives’ Endowment Association slammed Amazon after merchandise reading ‘Blue Lives Murder’ was listed for sale on the website. This is only the latest example of Amazon selling hateful merchandise.
The group demanded that Amazon pull the offensive merchandise, calling it “disgusting” rhetoric that “only purpose is to invite further division, hatred and violence toward the hard-working men and women of the nation’s Police Departments, who are toiling every day to keep their communities safe.”
“It has come to my attention that your website is selling tee-shirts (sic) and other items emblazoned with the words ‘Blue Lives Murder,’” part of the letter sent by the DEA to Amazon and obtained by The New York Post reads. “It’s disheartening that your company would allow this disgusting motto on your sales platform.”
“To continue to hawk products emblazoned with this vile phrase puts the lives of Police Officers, and all law enforcement nationwide, at peril and risk,” the letter said.
“Amazon is perpetrating anti-police rhetoric,” one detective told The Post. “It is totally inaccurate. They should sell shirts that say, ‘Blue Lives Save Lives.’” Amazon also sells numerous items with slogans such as “Fuck the Police” and “ACAB,” which is leftist shorthand for “All Cops Are Bastards.”
Other law enforcement officers agreed with the association. “They are hypocrites. They say they don’t sell items that incite hatred,” added one Brooklyn detective. “I can’t think of an item that incites hatred more than these sweatshirts.”
As of Monday morning, including a “Blue Lives Murder” face mask was still available for sale. However, T-shirts and hoodies featuring the slogan removed.
In June 2020 after the killing of George Floyd, similar merchandise appeared on the site.
“It shows that [Amazon is] bending over backwards for this movement like many other companies are,” Sgt. Joe Imperatrice, who founded Blue Lives Matter NYC, said in 2020.
Amazon has a history of selling inflammatory merchandise directing hate and violence towards right-of-center groups and figures.
Although its Terms of Service “does not allow products that promote, incite or glorify hatred, violence, racial, sexual or religious intolerance or promote organizations with such views. We’ll also remove listings that graphically portray violence or victims of violence,” notable examples of such products can be found.
In January, the Media Research Center found at least 204 examples of merchandise sold on Amazon that promoted violence toward President Donald Trump, Republicans, or police officers. Violent products included a flag with a graphic image of Trump blowing his brains out, a mug with the slogan “Where is Lee Harvey Oswald now that we really need him?” and a black T-shirt with a red slogan, “Kill All Republicans.” The shirt that urged the death of Republicans was even a sponsored listing on Amazon.

Today the National Basketball Association announced it’s creating a new social justice award named after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Apparently following “Crisis Management for Dummies” logic, the league’s latest social justice obsession comes at a time of plummeting popularity.
Last month, a poll by Morning Result revealed that fans are rejecting the NBA’s wokeness. In fact, the league has an unbelievable -5 percent favorability rating with Republicans and 43 percent among Democrats. Television ratings for the league have also crashed. At any rate, the NBA is unaware that it is unaware of its ongoing public relations nightmare.
Jabari Young of CNBC Sports reported the downward spiraling NBASJW will now select a player for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion Award each season. It will be a player “who demonstrates a commitment to bringing awareness to social justice and inequalities.” Each team will nominate a player for the award and a committee of NBA legends, league executives and social justice leaders will select the winner. Award finalists will donate a combined $200,000 to social justice organizations.
The leftist Abdul-Jabbar, now 74, said, “I’m honored and grateful to be associated with this award that will recognize the dedicated and selfless people fighting to promote social justice for all marginalized people. To me, it’s another giant step in the right direction for the country and all people who value equality.” (Disclaimer: Nominees profiting from shoes manufactured by all marginalized slaves in China won’t be required to advocate for equality in Asia.)
Clueless NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who doesn’t yet smell the smoke of the league burning to the ground, said, “In addition to being one of our greatest players, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has devoted much of his life to advocating for equality and social justice. With this new award, we are proud to recognize and celebrate NBA players who are using their influence to make an impact on their communities and our broader society.”
That impact includes calling off playoff games to whine and moan over the police shooting of criminals like Jacob Blake in 2020. LeBron James and Abdul-Jabbar are promoting a big lie that police officers are out of control and indiscriminately killing African Americans.
Abdul-Jabbar said, “we’ve got to take our time and understand that we need to take all these little steps to get to where we need to go — where there’s justice. We don’t want to make policemen’s jobs impossible. But we don’t want police just arbitrarily killing people. It’s going to take some effort, but we can get there.”
Following the death of George Floyd last year, the NBA saturated itself in social justice imagery. All league games were played in a Disney World bubble in Florida, where the playing courts displayed in huge lettering the words “Black Lives Matter.” Players adorned themselves in social justice slogans, too.
Silver took out the BLM court messages this season, but he can’t take the BLM out of the social justice-obsessed league.
The National Association of Attorneys General had to urge Facebook to drop a potentially “harmful” project targeted at kids. Apparently, Facebook needs to be encouraged to protect children online.
Attorneys general from 44 states and territories sent a letter to Facebook Chief Executive Officer and Founder Mark Zuckerberg. The Attorneys general urged Zuckerberg to scrap plans to develop an Instagram platform for children under the age of 13. Facebook is the parent company of Instagram.
The letter pointed to the potentially “detrimental” effects that such a platform could have on children. The attorneys general said that “research increasingly demonstrates that social media can be harmful to the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children.”
The letter further pointed to concerns about “predators” online. Children are “simply too young to navigate the complexities of what they encounter online, including inappropriate content and online relationships where other users, including predators, can cloak their identities using the anonymity of the internet,” the attorneys general said.
Finally, the attorneys general voiced concerns over Facebook’s track record of protecting children online. “Facebook has a record of failing to protect the safety and privacy of children on its platform, despite claims that its products have strict privacy controls,” they said. For example, the letter pointed to the Facebook Messenger Kids app that “contained a significant design flaw that allowed children to circumvent restrictions on online interactions and join group chats with strangers that were not previously approved by the children’s parents.” Attorneys general from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, North Dakota, Pennsylvania and West Virginia did not sign on to the letter.
Buzzfeed reported in March that Facebook planned to develop an Instagram app for kids. At the time, Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri said that the idea “was early in Instagram’s development of the product and that the company doesn’t yet have a ‘detailed plan,’” Buzzfeed summarized. Instagram currently requires users to be at least 13 years old before opening an account.
