On June 16, 2026, Gabriel Hostin, the son of ABC’s Sunny Hostin, put his Ivy League education to the test and decided to allegedly trespass in a Metro-North train yard in Westchester County, New York. In the body camera video, Sunny can reportedly be heard using her status as “one of the co-host of The View” and a “former federal prosecutor” to pressure the cops to not give her son a judicial summons.The body camera picks up with Metropolitan Transportation Authority officers running up to Gabriel in a New Rochelle train yard. The footage shows Gabriel calling attention to one of the officer’s badges and reading out his number.Gabriel was on the phone with his mother talking about her interview with Vice President J.D. Vance earlier that day, according to Sunny. Seemingly unaware she was on speakerphone, and possibly thinking he had either phone up to his ear or a wireless headphone, Sunny seemingly tells her son to lie to police and say, “Tell them your mother is a federal prosecutor.”As Sunny often likes to tout on The View, she’s actually a former federal prosecutor.

 That tone swiftly changed once she became aware that she was speaking with an Officer Gomez. In an unredacted version of the footage, Sunny reportedly played the do-you-know-who-I-am card and flaunted her TV star status: “My name is Sunny Hostin and I’m one of the co-hosts of ‘The View’ and I’m a former federal prosecutor.”Gabriel was 24-years old at the time of the incident but mommy came running trying to get him out of it as if he was still a minor and not an adult. “Why would you put something on his record like this?” she whined to Gomez in the body camera footage.Sometime later, Sunny showed up in person and was still trying to get the officers to drop the whole thing by repeatedly reminding them she’s “former federal prosecutor.” She also kept noting that Gabriel was a “Harvard graduate” and “Yale researcher” who “teaches geometry to South Bronx kids.”She was still doing it even after Gomez explained he was “dumping it down to a [trespass] violation” when “it’s normally a misdemeanor.” She even acknowledged her son would likely just pay a fine but was still upset that the cops stopped him.

 In another example of the Hostins’ flexing their incredible privilege, Sunny was apparently representing her son as his lawyer. TMZ obtained the letter she had written to Assistant District Attorney Amanda Greene, trying to get the case against her son dropped.In the letter, Hostin tried to suggest her son was simply looking for a hill to do some jogging on and accidentally trespassed:My client is a 2025 Harvard University graduate with no criminal history or prior contact with the criminal justice system. He is an avid runner and former Junior Olympian track athlete who was in the area training.While jogging, he observed what appeared to be a gravel incline that could be used for hill training. Although there was a gate at the entrance of the gravel incline, the gates were standing open. The only “No Trespassing” sign was affixed to the left gate and, because the gates were open, it was not visible to my client as he entered the property. To get there, Gabriel would have needed to go down a dead-end road behind some buildings that’s lined with discarded pallets and debris. The road also seemed act as a parking lot and storage for possible construction/industrial materials.The location is not immediately visible from a main roadway and is not in a rural area where one could stumble across tracks in the woods.Ironically, in 2025, Sunny made headlines when she suggested all of her neighbors in her “all white neighborhood” were racist and would call the police on him for jogging. She claims she brought her son to the police station and demanded, “Do not harass him, do not stop him” when he was on his runs.Sunny Hostin apparently thinks all her white neighbors are racists. Cori Bush, the far-left “Squad” member seeking to regain the House seat she lost in 2024, has put her embattled husband back on the campaign payroll, records show. The move comes despite how Bush became the focus of a Biden administration investigation after her 2024 campaign paid her beau for “security services.”
Bush’s campaign paid her husband, Cortney Merritts—who beat federal wire fraud charges last year—$2,273 in salary on June 1, according to campaign finance records. That’s on top of $15,000 that Bush paid herself between April 1 and May 29.
Bush’s payments to her husband could renew questions for the anti-Israel socialist ahead of her Aug. 4 primary against Rep. Wesley Bell, who defeated Bush by 5 points in the 2024 primary. Bush, along with Jamaal Bowman, was one of two Squad members who lost their seats that year. Both representatives blamed the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) for their loss. In a speech days after her primary loss, Bush threatened AIPAC, telling the pro-Israel group that “I’m coming to tear your kingdom down.”
A Department of Justice investigation into Bush came to light in January 2024 after the Biden administration subpoenaed the House sergeant at arms for records of Bush’s House office expenditures. Bush denied wrongdoing and said investigators were probing campaign payments to her husband.
Bush’s campaign paid Merritts, whom she secretly married in February 2023, more than $150,000 for “security services” and “wage expenses” since 2022, the Washington Free Beacon reported. It is not illegal for candidates to pay spouses and early family members as long as they perform “bona fide” campaign functions.
The status of the DOJ probe is unclear. Bush has not announced a closure of the probe, and her campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
Merritts was indicted on federal wire fraud charges in March 2025 for allegedly defrauding the Paycheck Protection Program for $21,000. A federal judge dismissed the case in February after a Washington, D.C., jury failed to reach a verdict at trial.
Bush paid Merritts $11,000 last year through her political action committee, Politivist Action, according to campaign finance records. Bush has faced scrutiny over that organization after she raised money ostensibly for tornado relief. According to a local news station, there is no record that Bush used money she raised for charity to provide the relief. And she has repeatedly dodged local reporters’ questions on the issue.
Despite the legal issues, Bush is running neck and neck with Bell to reclaim her old House seat. Bush, who is endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) as well as by the Democratic Socialists of America, who have enthusiastically supported her for years, has hammered Bell, a liberal Democrat, over donations he’s received from AIPAC-affiliated groups. Bush has multiple links to antisemites. Bush’s campaign paid $137,000 for security services to her longtime friend, Nathaniel Davis, a self-proclaimed spiritual guru who has claimed that Jews control the world. Bush worked closely for years with an activist who said she wanted to “set Israel on fire with my own hands & watch it burn to ashes along with every Israeli in it.”

Why reasonable concessions in a future Democratic Party platform are doomed to fail.

A federal appeals court is affirming a five-year prison sentence for Charles Littlejohn, a consultant to the IRS who leaked President Trump’s tax return information to the New York Times and tax information about thousands of the richest Americans including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Warren Buffett to ProPublica.
The 16-page opinion by a three-judge panel—Justin Walker, Neomi Rao, and Judith Rogers—found that the sentence was reasonable. It offers a scathing narrative of Littlejohn’s behavior. At this writing, the decision hasn’t been reported in either the New York Times or ProPublica, which describes itself as “a nonprofit, investigative newsroom that exposes corruption.”
“In 2017, Charles Littlejohn obtained a job as a consultant to the Internal Revenue Service so that he could steal and leak the tax returns of President Donald Trump,” the opinion says. “Two years into his elaborate scheme, in 2019, Littlejohn gave President Trump’s tax return and return information to a reporter for the New York Times. He then helped the reporter analyze the data and leaked more tax returns and return information to supplement his original leak. Finally, just weeks before the 2020 presidential election, the New York Times began publishing articles based on what Littlejohn had stolen,” the opinion says.
It continues, “he used his ‘skills to systematically violate the privacy of thousands of innocent people’ by stealing the tax returns and return information of about 600 entities and about 7,600 of the wealthiest Americans. He then leaked what he stole to ProPublica, which used data regarding at least 152 of his victims in about 50 articles,” the opinion says. A company I owned was among those affected.
“As a result of Littlejohn’s crime, his victims lost business. They were disparaged countless times. And their families were physically threatened,” the opinion says. “To this day, ProPublica is sitting on the private, as-yet unpublished data of other taxpayers stolen by Littlejohn. But those taxpayers continue to fear that ProPublica will publish their data in the future.”
Littlejohn pleaded guilty in 2023 to one count of unlawfully disclosing tax information. Prosecutors asked for, and got, the maximum five-year prison sentence, a $5,000 fine, a $100 special assessment and three years of supervised release despite the guilty plea. That prompted Littlejohn’s appeal.
The appeals panel found, “his crime was politically motivated, at least in part because one of his motives was to change tax policy by (in Littlejohn’s words) showing ‘just how easy it was for the wealthiest among us to avoid paying into our system.’”
It also found, “his crime was an attack on a sitting president because he wanted to inform voters about (in his words) ‘the tax returns of the sitting president before they decided on how they were going to vote.’”
Additionally, the court ruled, “his crime was an attack on our constitutional democracy because his goal was to influence an election through illegal activity.”
The opinion mentions that the district court judge, Ana Reyes, who issued the sentence mentioned the “ongoing harm to victims who did not know (and still do not know) when the next ProPublica article will drop, possibly hurting their businesses, harming their reputations, and jeopardizing their physical safety.”
The opinion concludes, “Littlejohn’s sentence was procedurally reasonable. And it was substantively reasonable. So we affirm.”
According to the Bureau of Prisons, Littlejohn, 41, is being held at the federal correctional institution in Marion, Ill. His scheduled release date is August 8, 2027.

The radical leftist group Democratic Socialists of America recently pulled off a number of Democratic primary wins in New York, and several of their candidates in other states are seeking elected positions in November. As the DSA has grown, liberal media outlets have consistently been unwilling to challenge their insane policy goals, and even defended them. But in an actually probing interview, Fox News Channel’s Martha MacCallum pressed DSA co-chair Gustavo Gordillo on Friday’s The Story, their talking points collapsed almost as catastrophically as the Soviet Union.MacCallum started by asking Gordillo about his family, who immigrated from Peru when he was a child. When asked why they moved to America, Gordillo wasted no time blaming their new country:The economic situation in South America and in Peru was in a really bad place. But I think that much of what we could say is responsible for that actually was the imposition of capitalism and American imperialism, in many cases, is what brings immigrants to the U.S. outside – coming out of Latin America.MacCallum immediately pushed him on that point, asking, “So they come here because they don’t like the imposition of American imperialism in the country that they’re in?”Logically, Gordillo blaming America for his family moving to America is like a Londoner during the Blitz in 1940 railing against Nazi Germany and then moving to Germany and working for the very Nazis that destroyed their home country. You’re getting oppressed by a foreign power in your home country, so your next move is to… move to that foreign power and contribute to their economy.Right. pic.twitter.com/Q2c62aXbJk— Cici Marie (@Cici_Marie_1776) July 20, 2026 The U.S.’s relationship to Latin America is, of course, very different from Germany and Britain’s in World War II. They have to be responsible financially. When we look at the landlords, we don’t use those same standards. Landlords in New York have been making a 12 percent return on their investment for – on average–MACCALLUM: How much should they make? What is fair for the landlord to make if you don’t like 12?GORDILLO: They’re complaining that 12 is not enough. And we don’t think that anybody should have a Constitutional right to double digit returns on their investment. That’s why we’ve implemented–MACCALLUM: No one should have a right to a double digit return on their investment?GORDILLO: No one has a right. Are you in favor of abolishing Article One of the Constitution?GORDILLO: No. We support a democratic route to transformative change in the United States. We think that we need to put the working class before the billionaire class.MACCALLUM: So you don’t want to abolish the Senate, the United States Senate? Because that’s what Article One is.GORDILLO: The United States Senate is an un-democratic institution. It gives more representation to people in smaller states than to the 30 million people in California.MACCALLUM: But that’s why you have the balance. So, you’ve got the House of Representatives, which is population driven, and then you’ve got the Senate. So, every state, if you’re a small state, you still get two Senators even though you only get maybe one congressman in order to make all of the states have fair representation. So you say – I’m just confused.GORDILLO: When you ask normal Americans if Congress and the Senate and our political system is working for them, most people are very unhappy with the political system and they say it’s not working for them. When we think about the 250th anniversary of the United States and we think about our proudest moments in U.S. history, I think of times like when ordinary people rose up and they changed the Constitution to abolish slavery, to give women the right to vote–MACCALLUM: Everyone is proud of that. That’s a nationwide pride in the country.GORDILLO: But back in those moments, those were considered radical movements because those people dared to say we need transformative change in the United States, and I think that we see–MACCALLUM: Right, well, we struggled to become a more perfect union. But I just want to ask you again, do you want to abolish the United States Senate? Because you said you approve of Article One, but then you said you didn’t think the Senate works?GORDILLO: We think that the Senate should be reformed, that we should have a more democratic government system. It’s going to cost $30 million to build a grocery store. In what world does it make sense to build a $30 million grocery store and put competitive pressure on the bodegas that are in the neighborhood?GORDILLO: I think that what we saw in the mayoral campaign, is the Mayor was able to build a movement that inspired people to believe that we could have a government that works for ordinary people, that is actually responsive to the working class.MACCALLUM: Inspiration is great, but if you’re the bodega owner, how would you feel if the government opened a big grocery store right next to your bodega? How would you feel?GORDILLO: If one publicly-owned grocery store that brings prices down in the neighborhood is enough to put someone out of business, then maybe they shouldn’t have been in that business in the first place.MACCALLUM: Interesting. Let’s play – you know, let’s look at the big picture for a second here, and play this from Marco Rubio, because his family came from Cuba. It’s no secret that the woke crusaders in Hollywood were starving for a culture-war win. So it was only a matter of time before leftist magazines like Vanity Fair eagerly hitched their DEI wagons to the early box office success of Christopher Nolan’s twist on Homer’s Odyssey.

Vanity Fair Features Editor Hillary Busis prematurely popped the proverbial champagne in her July 19 screed headlined, “The Odyssey’s Epic Box Office Haul Breaks The ‘Go Woke, Go Broke’ Myth.”Yes, the film was criticized for wokeness in casting, and yes, it made $264 million over the weekend. But that’s doesn’t prove proves that “flops” like the 2016 feminist-driven Ghostbusters and the live-action The Little Mermaid weren’t due to politics. She beamed that the movie’s success “put to bed an old conservative bugbear: the notion that Hollywood movies bomb when they’re overly influenced by the politics and qualities this cohort defines as ‘woke,’ a concept so broad as to be essentially meaningless.” Holy fallacy, Batman! That’s textbook begging the question!  Here’s the problem: Attaching Christopher Nolan’s name to any movie immediately gives it an instant edge that most feature-length films of this generation — especially those with underlying alphabet mafia political messaging — lack: a film director with a Midas Touch pedigree. The Economist reported July 16 that Nolan “is the seventh-highest-grossing film director ever, and the most important British film-maker since Alfred Hitchcock.” He’s virtually a statistical anomaly in the movie-making ecosphere. The Economist even concluded that the seven most dangerous words to ask any film aficionado were, “What do you think of Christopher Nolan?” Nolan could pass gas on screen and people will buy tickets.Busis, of course, doesn’t bother addressing this glaring variable. If she did, her argument would predictably implode. Obviously, any “woke” movie could be successful in theory if they just manage to land a modern-day Cecil B. DeMille like Christopher Nolan, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, or Peter Jackson to lead it. In essence, find a needle in a haystack … then jackpot! But Busis proceeded to just lash out at the “manufactured controversy” of DEI messaging in cinema:The real truth is that normal people, regular folks whose brains haven’t been pickled by constant exposure to the worst opinions on the internet, are unaware of this manufactured controversy. And even if they have heard about it, they certainly aren’t letting it influence their viewing habits.Interesting. So using her logic, why did Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) — which was known for explicitly departing from the woke political messaging of its 2016 box office bomb of a predecessor — achieve such monumental success? The film grossed $204 million globally on a $75 million budget, compared to the 2016 film costing Sony an over $70 million loss. Even Vanity Fair itself reported on the film’s “nostalgia-rich” triumph In November 2021. Busis’s gripe effectively reveals itself to have so many holes in it it could be a block of Swiss cheese. In fact, none of Busis’s propaganda proved that shoe-horning clunky-armor-wearing Elliot, er, Ellen Page (whatever “it” is) waddle-running like a penguin at the beginning of the film yields lasting dividends. If anything, her inadvertent admission is simply that all the controversial casting and character arc choices needed was Nolan’s prestige to dilute any consumer backlash.Elliot (Ellen) Page, visibly having difficulty holding herself up with fake armor. Like watching a toddler struggling through the desert. Nolan has duped hundreds of thousands of movie goers into believing these casting don’t matter in the grand scheme. It’s a slippery slope to welcome in more trans actors/actresses and race-swaps in future films. This movie is accepted by many who have fought against the Trojan horses in our society that have ruined homes, schools, churches, relationships, and business. People are lost in a 3+ hour lotus flower of a movie that is objectively a desecration of western society’s quintessential story of the hero’s journey.Consider other major TV and movie flops Busis didn’t bother bringing up that offered heavy doses of anti-masculine, alphabet people content: Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Snow White (2025), CW’s Batwoman, Disney Pixar’s Lightyear (2022) and Disney’s Strange World (2022). One of the latest entries is none other than DC Studios’ Supergirl (2026), which is currently projected to lose $125 million on a $170 million production budget. How many other directors of woke adaptations of iconic IPs could pull off what Nolan did? Not many, for sure. Busis sneered in her conclusion that “Verified X users with names like Roman Helmet Guy can cry all they want about how ‘the positive reviews (by professional movie critics) are evidence of a woke conspiracy to overthrow Western civilization.’ The rest of us will be too busy enjoying ourselves in IMAX 70mm to notice.” That’s okay, Busis. The rest of us with basic business sense will just keep laughing at you as the “go woke, go broke” pattern repeats — because talent like Nolan’s is the exception, not the rule.
