Left-wing terrorism is a serious problem in the United States, though for political reasons it doesn’t receive anything like the attention right-wing violence gets.When most people think of violence connected to abortion, they imagine attacks on abortion clinics — yet lately, pro-abortion extremists have been firebombing crisis pregnancy centers across the country.These centers help women who want to have their babies or who are undecided about having an abortion: In other words, women who are making a choice, just not the choice supposedly “pro-choice” abortion advocates find acceptable.So a group calling itself “Jane’s Revenge,” referring to the “Jane Roe” of Roe v. Wade, has declared war on anyone who might choose life.A report in the left-wing Guardian newspaper, headlined “Pro-choice militants are attacking ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ across US,” documented terroristic attempts at intimidation from New York and North Carolina to Wisconsin, Texas and Washington state in the past several years.The paper noted: “The methods have been extreme: vandals have thrown molotov cocktails, committed arson, damaged property and made threats.”Jane’s Revenge issued a statement demanding “anti-choice establishments” shut down in 30 days or face further violence.That was in 2022 — yet the group continued operating, until its website went dark just days ago thanks to a Trump administration crackdown on terrorist infrastructure.Jane’s Revenge and various other radical organizations, including antifa groups, were part of a network relying on web services provided by Italy’s “Autistici/Inventati,” or A/I Collective.According to the State Department, the A/I Collective “builds and operates the digital infrastructure for violent Antifa cells and other far-left militants across the world,” providing technology “designed to support the operations of far-left terrorist networks, built to enable them to organize, recruit, communicate, disseminate propaganda, share target information and tactics, and carry out violent attacks — all while remaining anonymous, untraceable, and beyond the reach of the law.”The collective has been facilitating leftist provocations for years.But on Aug. 26, the State Department struck back, officially deeming the A/I Collective a “specially designated global terrorist.”The designation means sanctions can be imposed on domestic individuals and financial institutions that do business with the foreign group, as well as restricting any of the collective’s assets that are under American jurisdiction.Results were immediate: radical sites shut down.“Antifascism and anticapitalism are not terrorism,” the collective complains in a media statement. “Protesting is not terrorism.”Yet all too often, it is: Groups like Jane’s Revenge consider terrorism a legitimate form of protest.And antifa organizations specialize in using protests as cover for carrying out acts of mayhem.Indeed, that’s the grand strategy — to tear down American society, which is capitalist and “fascist” in the left’s eyes, by exploiting the freedoms our “capitalist” Constitution protects.Legend has it Lenin once said capitalists would sell communists the very rope they would use to hang them.Today’s militant left is counting on capitalists and constitutionalists to provide them the legal protections they need to incite and perpetrate violence.But the Trump administration refuses to play along.The State Department’s action is long overdue:Americans should not have had to wait for a Republican administration like this one before government acts to dismantle the infrastructure that supports intimidation and violence.Foreign interests like the A/I Collective are often suppliers of that infrastructure:America’s domestic extremists are not simply isolated local loonies who spring up at random in our own communities — they’re connected to and coordinated with international networks.The networks encourage cross-pollination and collaboration:A/I Collective, the State Department notes, provides services to European “anarchist cells responsible for sabotaging rail systems across France, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands” as well as to the domestic “anarchist cell responsible for waging a violent campaign to prevent the construction of a law enforcement training center in Atlanta, Georgia.”The violent left is a transnational movement, and the Trump administration is right to see it in the same light as other networks that support or engage in terrorism.Domestic sites and groups using A/I Collective resources have published calls for “direct action” against the nation’s immigration laws — and the officers responsible for enforcing them.That includes publishing pamphlets urging activists to shine laser pointers at Customs and Border Protection helicopters, intending to blind pilots and potentially cause them to crash.Other sites “dox” ICE agents, providing personal information on immigration-enforcement officers to allow activists to harass them at home — or to firebomb their homes, if they take inspiration from groups like Jane’s Revenge.This is not protesting, and it’s not certainly not democratic: These are attempts by a radical fringe to do through intimidation and violence what they can’t do at the ballot box.Going after the foreign enablers of far-left violence and threats is a first, common-sense step in defending the very principle of self-government.Daniel McCarthy is the editor of Modern Age: A Conservative Review. Don’t confuse expressing opinions about evils done by foreigners with providing material assistance to the victims of those policies.

Mohsen Mahdawi, the Palestinian Columbia University student who is facing deportation over his central role in the anti-Israel campus protest movement, has a previously undocumented history of “support for terrorists, terrorist organisations, armed violence and those who carried it out,” according to a comprehensive investigation published Wednesday by two investigative journalists.
The findings undermine Mahdawi’s own claims—as well as those by sympathetic media outlets—that he is being targeted by the Trump administration over his peaceful advocacy for Palestinian rights and those living in Gaza. The 100-page investigation, authored by journalists David Collier and Rachel Feldman, unearthed previously unseen statements in which Mahdawi, who’s from the West Bank, promised to “annihilate the Jews,” praised Hamas, honored dead terrorists, and bragged that the Palestinians “have the capacity and conviction to resist, to kill and to wound.”
Mohsen, who graduated last year from Columbia’s highly selective undergraduate program and is now believed to be a graduate student at its left-wing international affairs school, was briefly in immigration detention but was released in April of last year. His case has been dragging out in the courts.
His violence-tinged postings, some of which were published as recently as 2024 while Mahdawi was on U.S. soil, tout “armed resistance in the West Bank or Gaza.” They directly challenge the student provocateur’s portrayal of himself as a reformed and now peaceful activist who long rejected the type of violence commonly endorsed by students who protested alongside Mahdawi at Columbia. The report provides additional evidence that some of Mahdawi’s family members, who he casts as victims of indiscriminate Israeli violence, were actually affiliated with armed Palestinian factions.
“This is not a report about something Mahdawi said when he was young and later repudiated. The significance lies in the continuity to the current day,” Collier and Feldman wrote in a press release upon publishing the report. “The report does not just raise questions about how some media coverage has continued to portray Mahdawi as a ‘peace activist,’ but also raises serious concerns about how someone with such an extensive history of supporting armed violence was able to obtain a U.S visa in the first place.”
Mahdawi’s ongoing deportation case is receiving widespread attention in the mainstream Western media, which often portray him as a moderate peace activist wrongly targeted by the Trump administration in its push to deport foreign students who engage in conduct deemed antisemitic or hateful toward the United States, often as part of their anti-Israel activism. The New York Times, for instance, published a glowing April 2025 profile that claimed Mahdawi abandoned Columbia’s protest movement “because he wanted to engage in dialogue with supporters of Israel” and grew increasingly uncomfortable with the calls to violence that many students endorsed.
But the investigation by Collier and Feldman maintains these stories often “obscured or recast” Mahdawi’s recent past and failed to properly authenticate his own tales of oppression at the hands of Israeli forces while living in a West Bank Palestinian refugee camp. At least seven of Mahdawi’s family members examined in the report were found to have affiliations with armed factions.
“As Mahdawi built his public identity as a peace activist, troubling elements of his past were repeatedly obscured or recast. Armed fighters and members of terrorist organisations were presented by him simply as innocent Palestinian victims,” the report states. “Terrorist connections within his own family were omitted from the stories he told about them. And important elements of the personal history he has presented to American audiences simply do not correlate with the contemporary historical record.”
Mahdawi, 34, relocated to the United States in 2014 and, while an undergraduate, emerged as an early leader in Columbia’s post-Oct. 7 protest movement. He was detained by ICE agents last year during an appointment to obtain U.S. citizenship, and deportation hearings soon commenced. An immigration judge ordered him to be removed from the country on June 3 of this year, but the case is being appealed.
Mahdawi’s support for radicalism emerged as early as 2013, when he was a young adult with hopes of moving to America. It continued up until at least 2024, well after Mahdawi emerged as a leader in the campus anti-Israel movement.
In a December 2024 Facebook video that was restricted to “friends only,” Mahdawi defiantly condemned an operation by Palestinian Authority security forces to root out terrorists in the Jenin refugee camp, describing it as “a slap in the face of the resistance, whether armed resistance in the West Bank or Gaza, or the popular resistance that we began and are still engaged in outside the homeland.” Those West Bank refugee camps, he added, serve as the “heart of the resistance and the heart of the struggle,” insisting that armed militants are actually “resistance fighters.”
Just two days after Hamas’s Oct. 7 terror spree, meanwhile, Mahdawi helped pen a joint statement from Palestinian activist groups at Columbia titled “Oppression Breeds Resistance.” In it, the authors maintain that “occupied peoples have the right to resist the occupation of their land” and that “we should not be surprised when resistance and violence breaks out.”
Two months later, Mahdawi penned a Facebook post mourning six “young men” who were killed in the West Bank refugee camp in which he grew up. “Israeli occupation forces killed six young men, including two of my neighbors,” he wrote, claiming that at least five of those killed “were civilians.” However, all of the individuals were later claimed by Hamas as “martyr heroes” who were killed while confronting Israeli forces, according to the report.
Mahdawi’s support for such “martyrs” stretches back to 2013, just a year before he moved to Vermont. A Facebook post from January of that year showed Mahdawi on video advocating armed resistance to Israel.
“Every young man, and every person who thinks a little, has within him the ability, the capacity and the conviction to resist, to advance, to kill and to wound, whether on the military level, the political level, or the intellectual level,” he said in the clip.
In a March 2014 Facebook post, Mahdawi posted a video “about the martyr Mu’tazz Washaha, which contains the infamous ‘Khaybar’ chant,” widely seen as an antisemitic call to violence. Washaha was a terrorist with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and was killed around that time in an Israeli strike.
In another post just a few days later, Mahdawi lamented that a terrorist attack on a Jewish settlement didn’t harm enough people.
“Brothers, if someone wants to do something, they should plan it. I’m not saying they shouldn’t do something like this, but it’s a shame to waste bullets and take the risk,” he wrote in the Arabic-language post. “There is a great/easy possibility of doing bigger things if he really means/wants to.”
Shortly after arriving in America in July 2014, Mahdawi praised Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in a Facebook post signed from “United States of America – Vermont.”
“In all the forms of resistance that we seek outside the homeland, we remain dwarfs before the greatness of the lions of al-Qassam, al-Saraya and al-Kata’ib, and before the sacrifices of our brothers in Gaza,” he wrote. “Congratulations to you, [people of] the purest land after Jenin camp; congratulations to you on [making] history and [winning] glory.”
By 2015, Mahdawi was investigated by Vermont police after he applied for a job at a gun shop and allegedly told the staff he was experienced with modified submachine guns “to kill Jews while he was in Palestine,” according to police reports reviewed as part of the investigation.
“Mahdawi allegedly said he had previously made guns for Hezbollah,” Collier and Feldman discovered through contemporaneous police reports. “The gun-shop owner also told police that Mahdawi appeared genuinely knowledgeable about firearms,” and that at a later date, he “allegedly said: ‘I like to kill Jews,'” though he later denied to authorities ever having made that statement. The police report was provided to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and FBI agents ultimately interviewed Mahdawi before closing the investigation.

That maxim was true during Tuesday’s The Moment when MS NOW host Katy Tur whined about how while Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed (D-MN) was “trying to stay on message with policy and ideas, there are a lot of pretty ugly attacks coming out against him.” Meanwhile, she ignored El-Sayed’s attack on the Second Lady.Leading into the topic of people speaking out against El-Sayed, Tur touted a previous appearance he had on her show and seemed to take great joy in the conversation and his far-left policies:So interestingly, when I had Abdul El-Sayed on the program the other day and he was talking, as one does as they campaign, about how Congress is not working for the American public. And he says the big reason it’s not working is because of lobbyists and corporate PAC money, PAC money in general, etc. And that’s why he’s not taking it. That’s why he wants to try to get rid of it. In addition to her slew of deranged comments claiming top White House advisor Stephen Miller doesn’t “give a shit about kids with cancer” and there’s not “one redeemable quality” about Republicans, I’ve Had It co-host Jennifer Welch also asserted on Monday on that the United States operates “concentration camps,” falsely claimed Israel isn’t a democracy, and arguably defamed both President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump by saying they’re respectively part of “a child sex ring” and worked as a hooker for Jeffrey Epstein.Welch leveled the first of two concentration camp mentions when reacting to video of an NBC News crew being beaten by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. She used the occasion to lament Americans still support the state of Israel, adding no one should “hold no punches in critiquing Donald Trump and…the 77 million people that voted for him.”

“You should go full tilt because it’s dark. It’s awful. They are dismantling our country. They are opening up concentration camps in the United States of America, and you should not hold back at all,” she stated without evidence. She also said it’s “bullshit” to claim Israel is “the only democracy in the Middle East,” but provided no evidence of which other countries in the region hold free and fair elections.Welch and the Woke Right would have a lot in common if they were ever in the same room:

The deranged witch doubled down in another video a few hours later, kvetching Republicans “wanted to scare [voters] with immigrants, and it worked” even though some, in her mind, have buyer’s remorse since “the majority of us don’t like seeing people regardless of their citizenship, throwing in concentration camps and denied basic food and health care and it’s disgusting[.]”She then made the bizarre claim that the Trump administration was to blame for the recent outbreak of food-borne illnesses (click “expand”):[T]he next thing they moved on to is an old, McCarthy-style, the-commies-are-coming Red Scare. And here’s all I have to say. Every, every government has forms of socialism. And I want the government testing the water, not some for-profit testing center that is going to be paid to cut corners. I mean, we’ve had too many days in the news cycle lately with Americans with explosive diarrhea. I mean, surely people can understand this is one lie that Republicans have done. And CBS News puts out a headline like this under the tutelage and oversight of Bari Weiss. Pop this up, CBS News: “As the nation prepares to mark 25 years of September 11, 2001, Abdul el-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, may be facing the risk of renewed scrutiny and fresh political attack.” Why is Abdul facing scrutiny? He’s condemned 9/11. What is it just because he’s Muslim? Is that what you’re doing here? Because I would think if there’s renewed scrutiny, the person I’d be looking at would be one Jared Kushner, one Jared Kushner, who is just like this. I mean, six billion reasons to understand why Jared Kushner is compromised regarding 9/11. He and the Saudis are as tight as ticks. Donald Trump just thinks — I’m — that one guy from Saudi. God, he’s a good-looking guy. He’s so hot. They funded 9/11. Are you serious right now?So Democrats, let’s sharpen our attacks. I mean, get real. Bari Weiss, David and Larry Ellison, what an absolute disgrace. That is not journalism. That is propaganda. And I hope that nobody falls for that. And go — let’s go support Abdul el-Sayed. We’ve got to get him that win in Michigan.Welch made the lawsuit-worthy comment about the President when lamenting: “[W]e have shown that you can be wholly unqualified, sociopathic, mentally ill, deranged, and all of these things and still get 77 million votes. You can even be a convicted felon, an adjudicated rapist, and in the middle of a child sex ring, and you can still get 77 million votes.”

Welch said this was proof America has “an electorate problem” and “a cultural problem” that must be wiped out since too many have “an appetite for propaganda.”“[I]n order for us to really recover as a country, the Democrats are going to have to stamp out MAGA completely, completely stamp it out,” she added.Angie Sullivan — the near-mute sidekick — chimed in that “the biggest problem we have n the United States is lack of critical thinking, not dealing with racism, misogyny, all of these DEI things that people are so angry about,” showing Republican voters lack a “basic level of education.”Welch responded with a cartoonish take that conservative, Christian voters are more gung-ho about “wanting a religious United States than any American Muslim politician I’ve ever seen.” Instead, she said, Muslim candidates are the real supporters of “personal liberties.”Later, they reupped one of their favorite conspiracy theories that can espouse without any fear of fact-checkers, which is their belief that Melania ended up with the now-President because she was an Epstein prostitute:
