As is now widely reported, the United States and Canada failed to reach a trade deal. As a result, there will be a fresh round of tariff exchanges. The tell is in Scott’s emphasis that Canada won’t be”backing down” to, or “pushed around” by President Donald Trump. We will get to our exclusive interview with Texas Governor Greg Abbott in a moment. But we begin with breaking news involving America’s relationship with our closest ally. This weekend tense trade negotiations broke down, triggering major new U.S. tariffs against Canada, with the Canadian Prime Minister vowing to match those tariffs dollar for dollar. Prime minister Mark Carney declaring, quote, “America has changed”. Let’s get right to Senior Political Correspondent Rachel Scott at The White House. Good morning, Rachel. We seem to be witnessing a breakdown in relations which- with Canada that seems to go beyond trade.RACHEL SCOTT: Yes, John, good morning to you. And this really did come down to the wire. These talks completely collapsing between the U.S. and Canada. And this morning, Americans are now bracing for an all-out trade war with one of our closest allies and also our neighbor to the north. So President Trump has now imposed a 50 percent tariff on about $20 billion in Canadian goods. He says that Canada wants the benefits of being a state without actually being one. Well Mark Carney, Canada’s Prime Minister, is not backing down. He says that Canada will match those tariffs dollar for dollar imposing tariffs on a sweeping amount of goods, apparel, electronics, paper goods and steel. And that would start on September 8th. So that means for Americans here at home, they could see prices increase. We could also see small businesses be hit. But John listen, you mentioned it here. And this goes far beyond trade because this also impacts our relationship with Canada. And Carney did not mince words. He says that America is attacking Canada at one point, even comparing it to being at war with America. Jon.Today’s report was just as stacked. Scott opens with tariff DOOM, and a bevy of quotes from Canadian officials as opposed to a single JD Vance soundbite. Two of those were from Ontario Premier Doug Ford calling on President Trump to kiss his posterior. Two “Trump can kiss my ass quotes” from Ford, two from Prime Minister Carney, and one quote from Vance.For added measure, Scott found a Michigan furniture manufacturer for the obligatory tariff harm soundbite. On the other hand: how many people are really thinking about tariffs once they’ve decided to spring $2K for an oak dining room table? If Scott asked that question, it didn’t make it to air.Nowhere in the report is there any mention of why the trade deal went sideways, no mention of dairy, and no mention of Canada’s new proximity to China. Absent these, viewers are left to sort through Resistance slop. I was warned that Fox News’s own Jesse Watters would be interviewing the Democrat nominee to the U.S. Senate from Michigan, Abdulrahman Mohammed El-Sayed. I predicted the interview had the potential be a complete and total ****show, and it exceeded my expectations. Here are some of its wildest moments.The interview kicked off with immigration, which is legitimate considering that Michigan is a border state. El-Sayed follows that up by arguing in favor of socialized medicine, despite not knowing what the federal government spends every year. An exchange on the Iran War wherein El-Sayed lightly distances himself from the Iranian regime segues Watters into a question on Sharia Law. This led to the wildest exchange of the night, on whether El-Sayed supports child sex changes. “CIRCUMCISION IS SURGERY ON A KID’S DINGALING”: @AbdulElSayed compares sex-change surgeries for minors to circumcision, says both should ultimately be between parents and their doctors pic.twitter.com/eJ2ZFYkHiB— Jorge Bonilla (@BonillaJL) August 25, 2026 Needless to say, “are you circumcised” has already begun to circulate as a meme. As I mentioned earlier: I expected the interview to be a ****show, but not to the extent of El-Sayed saying child sex changes are comparable to circumcisions and asking grown men about their genitalia on national television.Watters proceeded to ask El-Sayed about his loss of the black vote in the Michigan primary, and closed with whether Chuck Schumer should remain the Democrat Senate leader. All were met with deflections and some sort of fallback to talking points. This interview marks the first time Al-Sayed is asked tough questions on his past positions and statements and it shows- a far cry from the warm tongue baths he normally gets across the Elitist Media.
