At least two police officers were shot late Saturday evening in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

According to the Fairview Heights Police Department, the officers responded to a call about a “suspicious person” who was “prowling” around a residence just before 10 p.m. local time.

“Upon arrival, officers made contact with the individual. During the encounter, the individual opened fire, striking multiple Fairview Heights officers. The injured officers were transported to two area hospitals, where they are currently being treated,” the department wrote in a Facebook post.

The post continued, “We are grateful for the quick actions of our responding officers and emergency personnel. Please keep our injured officers in your prayers, as well as their families, and our entire department.”

A witness named Mel Vinci livestreamed multiple videos from the scene.

In videos, a white male police officer’s arm is seen being looked at by an EMT. It is unclear if he is one of the officers who was shot.

According to the Downstate Illinois-Metro East StL Scanner 911 Facebook page, which was sharing videos and livestreams from the scene, a female officer was shot in the face, and her male partner was shot in the arm. The Fairview Heights Police Department had not confirmed any information about the identities of the officers involved at the time of publishing.

A witness speaking in one of the videos said that the gunfire was so heavy that it “sounded like fireworks.”

The suspect was arrested and remains in police custody. Their identity has also not been publicly released at this time.

Shocking videos have emerged from the moments after a Mexican Navy ship crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday night, showing at least a dozen sailors hanging from the broken 150-foot mast.

At least two people are dead, two are in critical condition, and 19 were injured.

The sailors were on the Cuauhtémoc’s mast as part of a traditional ceremonial greeting when entering a port. This practice, known as “manning the yards,” is practiced by sailors worldwide.

Following the crash, a search and rescue operation was immediately launched in the East River.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said during a press conference about the incident that 277 people were on board the vessel.

“No one fell into the water, they were all hurt inside the ship,” NYPD Special Operations Chief Wilson Aramboles said. “The ship, from what I was informed by the supervisors of the ship, it was disembarking and going to Iceland.”

Aramboles added that there may have been mechanical issues.

“I guess it was, the pilot that is assigned to navigate, you know, the boat out of the water, I believe there was some mechanical issues that probably caused the ship to hit the water,” Aramboles said.

Earlier tonight, the Mexican Navy tall ship Cuauhtémoc lost power and crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge.

Mayor Adams said that the ship had lost power before the collision.

The FBI held a press conference Saturday afternoon following a lethal explosion at a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California.

Officials have already confirmed one fatality, an individual found near a destroyed vehicle.

An additional four people were injured in the blast.

The suspect in the attack is 25-year-old Guy Edward Bartkus.

According to media reports, Bartkus identified as a pro-mortalist and believed that humans had never given consent to existing.

He reportedly left a 30-minute audio recording in which he explained his motives.

“I figured I would just make a recording explaining why I’ve decided to bomb an IVF building, or clinic,” he explained.

”Basically, it just comes down to I’m angry that I exist and that, you know, nobody got my consent to bring me here.”

FBI Assistant Director for Los Angeles Akil Davis confirmed it was an “intentional act of terrorism.”

He continued:

The FBI is investigating it as such, our joint terrorism task force is here working in lockstep with the Palm Springs Police Department, the ATF, and a whole host of agencies that I’ve already mentioned. 

This explosion was significant, covering several blocks.Rroads are closed as there are wide debris fields over 250 yards.

The FBI’s evidence response team is on scene right now processing evidence. And we’ll be here for a significant amount of time.

Our bomb technicians are working to determine the origin of the blast.

We are working to confirm the identity of the deceased, and we will provide that to you as soon as we can, but we are keeping that close hold to protect the integrity of the investigation.

President Trump’s approval numbers are rising in blue New Jersey. At the moment, he is more popular with Garden Staters than their Democrat Governor Phil Murphy.

During the 2024 election, there was plenty of speculation about the possibility of New Jersey flipping red for the first time in years. It ultimately didn’t happen, but Trump still did better in the state than many Democrats expected.

Trump did so well in New Jersey that Republican activist Scott Presler, who is often credited with helping Pennsylvania flip red, has now launched a new campaign to do the same thing in New Jersey in 2028.

Based on this, it seems feasible.

In a striking shift for a deep-blue state, New Jersey voters now view President Donald Trump more favorably than their own Democratic Governor, Phil Murphy. Despite years of anti-Trump rhetoric from state leaders and media outlets, the numbers suggest growing frustration among residents, particularly as high taxes, rising inflation, and cost-of-living pressures take a toll on working Americans.

A recent Emerson College/Pix 11/The Hill poll shows that Trump is breaking even with New Jersey voters—47 percent approve of his performance. In comparison, another 47 percent disapprove, and six percent remain undecided or neutral. In contrast, Murphy is underwater in his own state. Just 40 percent of voters give him a favorable rating, compared to 45 percent who disapprove, leaving him with a net negative of five points. Another 15 percent of those surveyed didn’t express a clear opinion.

The poll is striking since a Democrat has won every election in the state since 1992. While former President Joe Biden carried the Garden State by 16 points in 2020, former Vice President Kamala Harris carried the state by only six points. This was the Democratic Party’s worst performance in decades.

Scott Jennings, the lobe conservative voice on CNN, made his debut on the Bill Maher show this weekend and made quite an impression on Maher’s liberal audience.

Jennings even managed to get a round of applause while talking about Trump’s foreign policy.

He noted that Trump puts the possibility of peace ahead of war and suggested that this is a big part of Trump’s appeal. He framed the issue perfectly, as he often does, and earned an applause break.

The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal has launched a full-throttled attack against President Trump and his supporters.

Addressing a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, Pascal went on a rant against the current U.S. administration.

“Fuck the people that try to make you scared,” Pascal said. “And fight back. And don’t let them win.”

Pascal, who has previously described himself as a “socialist refugee” whose family fled Chile under the rule of ugusto Pinochet, went on to share his sob story about how he fears for the welfare of immigrants.

“Obviously, it’s very scary for an actor participating in a movie to sort of speak to issues like this,” Pascal about Trump’s efforts to stop illegal immigration.

“I want people to be safe and to be protected, and I want very much to live on the right [side] of history.”

“I’m an immigrant. We fled a dictatorship, and I was privileged enough to grow up in the US, after asylum in Denmark.

“If it weren’t for that, I don’t know what would have happened to us,” he continued. “So I stand by those needing protection, always.”

These comparisons have been brought into focus by former Mandalorian actress Gina Carano, who last year teamed up with Elon Musk to sue Disney for discrimination and wrongful termination.

A key argument of her lawsuit is the double standard applied to Carano, who was fired after comparing the COVID vaccine tyranny to the treatment of Jews in the 1930’s.

The South Carolina Supreme Court has unanimously determined that the state can continue banning abortion at the point when a fetal heartbeat can be detected.

The law, which the court upheld on Wednesday, bans the procedure at approximately six weeks of pregnancy.

Planned Parenthood had challenged the law in court, arguing that the law should not apply until nine weeks of pregnancy.

According to the law, abortions cannot be performed once an ultrasound can detect “cardiac activity, or the steady and repetitive rhythmic contraction of the fetal heart, within the gestational sac.”

The Associated Press reports, “The state argued that is the moment when an ultrasound detects cardiac activity. Planned Parenthood said the words after the ‘or’ mean the ban should only start after the major parts of the heart come together and ‘repetitive rhythmic contraction’ begins, which is often around nine weeks.”

The court ultimately determined that the law must be based on the intent of the general assembly, which was clearly to ban the practice at six weeks, not nine.

“We could find not one instance during the entire 2023 legislative session in which anyone connected in any way to the General Assembly framed the Act as banning abortion after approximately nine weeks,” Associate Justice John Few wrote.

The AP report also noted, “And the Supreme Court pointed out Planned Parenthood used the phrase ‘six-week ban’ more than 300 times in previous filings, as South Carolina’s 2021 ban at cardiac activity was overturned in a 3-2 decision in 2023 and then reinstated months later after the General Assembly tweaked the law and the court’s only woman who overturned the ban had to retire because of her age.”

The Supreme Court’s ruling states:

“This Court holds that it is clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that the General Assembly intended, and the public understood, that the time frame of the Act would begin around the six-week mark. The moral and ethical issues that this case presents are immense and this Court does not take that lightly. However, as Justice Kittredge noted in Planned Parenthood II, the courts must respect the separation of powers principles and the limited (non-policy) role it is enshrined with, and this Court must approach this case with one single commitment: to honor the rule of law. The South Carolina Supreme Court and the General Assembly have spoken. This Court must listen.”

Republican South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster celebrated the decision, issuing a statement saying, “Today’s ruling is another clear and decisive victory that will ensure the lives of countless unborn children remain protected and that South Carolina continues to lead the charge in defending the sanctity of life.”

An investigation is underway after the Historic Nottoway Plantation in Louisiana, the largest antebellum mansion in the U.S., burned to the ground on Thursday.

Firefighters battled the blaze for over 18 hours.

The plantation has been the subject of leftist complaints in recent years for “romanticizing” the antebellum South and not doing enough to call attention to the slavery involved in its construction.

Leftists even took to social media to celebrate the destruction.

The Nottoway plantation, the largest Antebellum plantation has burnt to the ground.

The fire was righteous and cleansing. I hope those poor souls may rest easier.

Fox 8 reports:

Friday morning, more than 18 hours after flames were first spotted in the museum wing of the 165-year-old mansion, water was still being poured onto the collapsed structure.

Fire officials say the blaze, which started around 2 p.m. Thursday, reignited around 6 p.m. and quickly overtook the roofline, reducing the iconic white columns and stately facade to rubble.

“This is a total loss,” Iberville Parish President Chris Daigle told the station. “Some staff members stated they had gone into the museum and there was smoke. When they returned, the whole room was in flames.”

It is believed that the fire started in a second-floor bedroom, but the cause remains unclear.

The report explained, “Constructed in 1859 by sugar baron John Hampden Randolph, Nottoway Plantation spanned more than 53,000 square feet and boasted 64 rooms, 365 doors and windows, and 22 white columns overlooking the Mississippi River. It was a symbol of Southern opulence and a reminder of the era of slavery that built and maintained it.”

The mansion now hosts weddings, events, and guided tours.

No injuries or deaths were reported.

President Donald Trump has called out Walmart for announcing that it will raise prices in response to the tariffs.

The president pointed out that the company made billions of dollars last year and can afford not to pass the tariffs on to customers.

On Thursday, the multi-billion dollar company announced that price increases could come as soon as next month.

“We have always worked to keep our prices as low as possible and we won’t stop,” a Walmart spokesperson told The Hill. “We’ll keep prices as low as we can for as long as we can given the reality of small retail margins.”

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon claimed that the company is not “able to absorb all the pressure.”

Trump wrote:

Walmart should STOP trying to blame Tariffs as the reason for raising prices throughout the chain. Walmart made BILLIONS OF DOLLARS last year, far more than expected. Between Walmart and China they should, as is said, “EAT THE TARIFFS,” and not charge valued customers ANYTHING. I’ll be watching, and so will your customers!!!

Earlier this week, Trump lowered tariffs on China from 145 percent to 30 percent for 90 days.

China, in response, lowered tariffs on the United States from 125 percent to 10 percent.

At least one fatality has been reported after a car exploded outside a California fertility clinic just before 11 a.m. local time on Saturday.

The massive explosion blew out windows on buildings as far as half a mile away from the American Reproductive Centers on N Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs. The clinic provides in vitro fertilization, advanced reproductive treatments, artificial insemination, egg freezing, surrogacy services, “LGBTQ family building,” and more.

Law enforcement has not provided information about the cause of the blast, but has not ruled out terrorism.

“Everything is in question, whether this is an act of terrorism,” Lt. William Hutchinson told reporters at the scene.

What appeared to be human remains were seen in the middle of the street outside the clinic in photos shared on social media. The Gateway Pundit has opted not to share the images due to their extremely graphic nature.

Emergency crews, including firefighters and police, were dispatched to the scene immediately after the explosion.

According to a report from The Desert Sun, the blast was powerful enough to rattle homes, and some residents reported smoke and a strong odor in the aftermath.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, and it remains unclear whether additional injuries or deaths were reported.

Residents have been urged to avoid the area around North Indian Canyon Drive and follow updates from official sources.
