The U.S. Department of War has now fired one of its senior officials who was caught on a hidden-camera “gay date” promising to “stay” at the Pentagon until President Donald Trump leaves office so he can “undo whatever’s been done.”
“The individual is no longer employed by the Department of the Navy,” said Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao on Sunday, referring to Brandon Newsom, director of business operations for the Navy.

Last week, as WorldNetDaily reported, Newsom had been placed on leave, with Cao indicating on X: “The Department of the Navy takes the conduct shown in this video extremely seriously. Such statements and apparent intent to leverage a position to undermine the policies and direction set by our elected leaders are inappropriate and incompatible with the standards expected of Department personnel.”

Newsom was filmed by undercover reporter James O’Keefe, who pretended to be on a gay date while disguised only with a mustache.
With 16 years of service overseeing critical corporate operations including HR, IT, security, facilities, and records management in support of War Secretary Pete Hegseth, Newsom described himself as a stabilizing force across administrations, according to O’Keefe Media Group.
“I have the influence … I can undo whatever’s been done,” Newsom told O’Keefe. He explained his decision to remain in his post through political transitions: “When the election changes… I want to stay and stick it out so that when the time comes, I can undo whatever’s been done.”

Newsom specifically targeted two policies for reversal. He criticized the Pentagon’s monthly voluntary Christian faith service which includes prayer, Bible readings, and sermons. He called for it to be replaced with multi-faith services. He also opposed efforts to reclassify certain senior career officials in policy roles, a move designed to increase accountability to elected leaders.
When asked whether he had the formal authority to enact such changes, Newsom replied: “I don’t have the authority to do that, but I have the influence … It’s not about me, it’s about the position.”
Newsom also expressed strong personal views, calling Trump “a narcissist” and dismissing the administration’s Iran policy as “completely stupid … driven on one man’s ego.”
The official also hinted at insider knowledge of Washington, saying, “I’ve seen some things. In true D.C. nature, you don’t always reveal everything in D.C.”

There has been a rumor for about a year about them trading Ketel Marte, but this team is also 55-51 for the year. They could add a bat and make a splash for their offense, much like they did a couple of years ago.Last year they were sellers, and they traded away one of their mainstays in the rotation, Merrill Kelly. He toes the rubber tonight for the Diamondbacks. For the year, Kelly is 8-8 with a 5.12 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP, not exactly numbers that will lead to a major return should they try to flip him again. He has been slightly better on the road with a 4.28 ERA. He also has been solid in July, putting together his best month of the season. He has thrown 22 innings and allowed just six earned runs. Most of his problem has been the home run ball because he has allowed one in each start this month. They’ve been one of the better-hitting teams in the sport, so I don’t know that it helps to trade for another bat, but maybe the pitching staff can get an upgrade.Perhaps they can get today’s starter, Mitch Keller, to improve his performance. For the season, Keller is 6-7 with a 4.90 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. He has been very bad in Pittsburgh this season, with a 5.68 ERA at home. He also has allowed 26 earned runs in his last 40 innings. He has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his past six starts at home. He is coming off one of his best starts of the year, a road outing, going five scoreless innings and allowing just three hits. Diamondback hitters are batting .202 against Keller.The numbers don’t really scream any true success for either of these lineups against the opposing starter. There are some guys who have performed well, but no one that makes me think this will be a super high-scoring game. I also don’t think I can advocate for the under given how these pitchers have performed this season.I’m going to take the Diamondbacks in this one. Keller has been bad at home this season, and Kelly hasn’t been great, but has at least been better on the road. There is some sharp action coming in on Arizona as well, with the line moving in their favor. Xi Jinping’s anti-corruption purges have swept through China’s financial sector, removing senior banking officials while increasing uncertainty for investors and exposing systemic weaknesses in state-directed lending. China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) announced on July 19 that Ouyang Weimin, former president and deputy party secretary of the China Development Bank (CDB), is under investigation for suspected serious violations of party discipline and the law. Typical of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) purges, no further information was given.
Ouyang joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1986 and spent much of his early career at the People’s Bank of China before serving as vice governor of Guangdong. He was appointed CDB president and deputy party secretary in 2019 and stepped down as president in 2023. CDB, founded in 1994, is a state-funded development finance institution overseen directly by the State Council.
In a separate action, a former CDB vice president was sentenced in 2024 to 12 years in prison and fined for accepting bribes. A second CDB official, Liang Qingkai, former party secretary and president of CDB’s Hunan branch, was placed under investigation the same day. This detail has only a single Chinese-language source and has not been independently confirmed.
Ouyang’s case fits into a broader pattern of purges across the China Development Bank (CDB) and other state-owned financial institutions. The CCP has punished or opened investigations into at least nine CDB executives for graft in a single year, with several accused of accepting bribes in exchange for approving loans.
Former CDB chairman Hu Huaibang helped CEFC China Energy and HNA Group obtain billions of dollars in credit. Both companies later collapsed into insolvency or restructuring. Former CDB vice president He Xingxiang was placed under investigation in September 2021, and former Yunnan branch president Hong Zhenghua was investigated the same year.
The South China Morning Post reported that more than 30 regulators and bankers were detained in a single year as part of the broader financial-sector crackdown. Analysts said investigators were targeting officials accused of approving loans in exchange for kickbacks, and more than a dozen senior executives at China’s largest financial institutions were investigated during the same period.
Taken together, the cases involving Hu Huaibang, He Xingxiang, Hong Zhenghua, Ouyang Weimin, and the unconfirmed investigation of Liang Qingkai suggest a recurring pattern in which CDB executives allegedly approved loans in exchange for bribes. In at least one documented case, the CEFC and HNA credit lines, the lending went to companies that later defaulted or entered restructuring.
Bad loans of this kind likely stem from a mix of factors: personal enrichment by officials approving the loans, poor planning, and pressure from the central government to inflate the overall scale of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) so that reported totals remain large.
Xi Jinping treats “financial security” as central to national security, and the financial sector crackdown reflects this view. Combined with broader state paranoia, it could further weaken business confidence among domestic and foreign investors.
The purge also raises the risks associated with senior banking positions in China. Despite that, opportunities for corruption will likely continue to attract some officials. For foreign investors, the crackdown adds another layer of uncertainty: loans may go unrecovered, or the officials who approved them may later be arrested.
China’s net investment position, measured by foreign direct investment into China versus outbound investment, turned negative about a year and a half before this writing. It remains very low. U.S. tariff policy under President Trump has further reduced China’s attractiveness to investors.
2026 growth projections run as low as 4.5% GDP, among the lowest on record outside the COVID period. Beijing is likely to report a figure closer to 5% regardless.
China’s official unemployment rate is about 5%. Youth unemployment is officially 16% to 18%. That figure excludes students, many of whom enrolled in school because they could not find jobs, and people absorbed into training programs for the same reason.
Real youth unemployment may be closer to 20%, consistent with the 21% to 23% peak recorded before Beijing stopped publishing the metric. It is likely higher today, given the tens of millions of university graduates entering the workforce without a matching rise in jobs.
An estimated 200 million to 400 million migrant workers remain registered as employed under the hukou system, some earning under $100 a month. Their work depended on a construction sector that has since slowed sharply. Construction accounts for at least 20% of the Chinese economy and depends directly on available financing.
Reduced investment limits factory construction, while U.S. tariffs restrict market access. The overall trajectory is continued economic slowdown rather than collapse.
CDB is one of China’s two principal financiers of overseas infrastructure and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects, with estimated lending commitments of roughly $100 billion, the largest of any single Chinese institution.
Chinese banks’ balance sheets are burdened with doubtful loans, leaving little room for BRI-scale lending. New Chinese loan commitments have remained flat at about $7 billion annually since 2023, roughly one-quarter of the volumes seen during the initiative’s peak in the 2010s. It also found that China has shifted from a net provider of financing to developing countries to a net drain, with debt repayments now exceeding new disbursements.
With the United States positioned to gain control over Iran’s oil, that investment is unlikely to benefit China, compounding losses already tied to failed loans and corruption cases. Because no official BRI project list exists, Beijing can characterize any individual completed project as a success regardless of the initiative’s overall performance.

‘I Almost Cried’ – Documentary Video Trove Shows Lindsey Graham’s Joy At Start Of Iran War

Batches of previously unreleased documentary footage give a behind-the-scenes look at the late Sen. Lindsey Graham’s work to maneuver the United States into military conflicts on behalf of Israel, and the sheer joy he exuded when President Trump finally brought Graham’s long-held dreams of an all-out war on Iran to fruition.  

The video comes from British documentary filmmaker Alex Holder, whom Graham had granted close, ongoing access from 2023 up until Graham’s sudden death on July 11. Holder plans to release a documentary called “Lindsey’s Game” later this year, but he’s just released several samples from his hundreds of hours of footage. They fully cement Graham’s reputation as a man who constantly pushed for war and found unparalleled joy in bringing destruction to foreign peoples. 

That latter dimension of Graham’s twisted personality can be vividly seen and heard in footage of Graham in his Senate office in late February. He and is staff are watching Trump, on Fox News, bragging that “virtually everything [the Iranians] have has been knocked out.”

Positively exuberant that massive US-Israeli attacks on Iran  had just begun, Graham laughs aloud with joy, then gushes to the documentary crew and his own staffers, “Look what we’ve done here. I almost cried. I mean, like, how long have we been pushing this?” Holder replies, “you’ve been pushing this for years.” Graham laughs again and — sounding just a child on Christmas morning — says with dewy-eyed disbelief, “Right…it’s here!” 

Graham says Trump is enjoying the war too. “I talked to Trump this morning — he’s jacked. He said, ‘best thing I have ever done.’ He loves blowing stuff up.” We’d be remiss if we didn’t remind readers that one of the first things Trump and the US Navy had already blown up in Graham’s giddy early hours of the war was an elementary school in southern Iran. More than 150 civilians were killed at the Minab school, most of them girls between age 7 and 12.

In another remarkable scene, we get to sit in a March 4 Graham phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom Graham had actively conspired to maneuver Trump into simultaneously blowing up Iran and blowing up Trump’s many promises to break the cycle of never-ending US wars in the Middle East. The call starts with Graham greeting “Bibi” and sycophantically saying how “impressed” he is with Netanyahu. In what sounds like a thinly-veiled boast for the benefit of the documentary’s eventual audience, Graham adds, “I’m glad to be your friend.” 

That’s nauseatingly entertaining, but what makes their ensuing strategy discussion so remarkable is that the infamously bellicose Netanyahu emerges as the relative voice of restraint. Graham tells Netanyahu that he intends to visit Trump in Florida to convince him to join Israel in its war with Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia, but Netanyahu diplomatically tells Graham to take it easy.

“We’re concentrating right now on Iran,” Netanyahu replies. “If we tell Hezbollah that we’re going all the way… we threaten them, but if we actually do it, then they have no reason not to go all the way against us. And right now that’s not our interest.” Perhaps not wanting to fully spoil Graham’s dreams of American service members being thrown into another conflict for Israel’s benefit, Netanyahu offers, “We can do it later.”

Another clip nicely illustrates just how wrong Graham and other promoters of the war on Iran have been about what would be be rapidly accomplished. In early March, as he’s being driven across town, Graham tells documentarian Holder that, in “three or four weeks,” the United States and Israel would “have them in a spot where they start losing control of some cities” and, with more open Arab involvement in the war, achieve “almost irreversible momentum.”

Five months later, no cities have come even remotely close to falling. Instead, outraged over a war of aggression launched on their country on several bogus pretenses, support for the Iranian government has been galvanized. That’s been manifested in many ways, but none greater than what may have been the largest funeral in the history of the world, as millions turned out earlier this month for a multi-day state funeral for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Continuing its long-running pattern of violating international norms that put heads of state off-limits — and furthering its corruption of what little remains of US government geopolitical morality — Israel collaborated with the United States to kill Khamenei, his daughter, son-in-law, and 14-month-old granddaughter in February’s opening assault. 

In other footage reviewed by the Wall Street Journal, Graham voices his disappointment that more Republican politicians aren’t stepping up to promote the war on Iran, which quickly became the most unpopular major war in US history — even less popular than what was observed in the worst polling on the Vietnam War. “Very few people are out selling this war from the administration. I’m shocked,” Graham says. 

The last footage recorded by the documentary crew  — at a Columbia, SC bagel shop in June — shows a Graham who’s frustrated that Trump has signed a memorandum of understanding that was supposed to be a precursor to a lasting peace. “He’s letting this thing slip away,” Graham said. “I got to go talk to him.”
