On Thursday morning, a five-metre tall overweight black woman in a tight blue dress and matching heels was unveiled on Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth and described to the public as a contemporary “everywoman.”

City Hall has called Lady in Blue a symbol of ‘confidence and purpose’. CNN framed the same object as a victory because it is “not another White man.” Ordinary Londoners looking at the thing itself reached a simpler verdict: identity politics on a plinth.

The 16th Fourth Plinth commission is the work of New York artist Tschabalala Self. The figure is bejewelled and mid-stride, with a giant behind.

The Mayor’s Press Office posted the official line within hours of the unveiling. “London’s Fourth Plinth is one of the most exciting public art commissions in the world,” it wrote. “Today we welcome ‘Lady in Blue’ by Tschabalala Self – a symbol of confidence and purpose and an excellent addition to Trafalgar Square.”

BBC London went with the house style: “‘Everywoman’ statue unveiled in Trafalgar Square.” The replies under both posts filled up with the same words: eyesore, insult, not representative, politics not art.

Self has been consistent about the brief. “My work Lady In Blue will bring to Trafalgar Square a woman that many can relate to,” she said. “She is not an idol to venerate or a historic figurehead to commemorate. She is a woman walking forward into our collective future with ambition and purpose. She is a Londoner, who represents the city’s spirit.”

Self also said she wanted to “direct everyone’s attention to the future” because “I don’t think there are enough monuments that are about our shared future to come.”

To The Art Newspaper she added: “This is a contemporary representation of personhood. Women need to be understood as being persons. Black people need to be understood as being persons. Despite someone’s identity politics, they should be able to be understood as a representation of all human beings.”

Deputy mayor for culture Justine Simons called it “not a remote historic figurehead but a tribute to everyday women.”

That is of course, only if you’re an obese black woman.

Commissioning group chair Ekow Eshun said the work “transforms the everyday into the monumental.”

Hmmmmm.

The surrounding square contains Nelson’s Column, Landseer lions, Admiralty Arch and the National Gallery. The plinth itself was built in 1841 for an equestrian statue of William IV that never arrived.

Since 1999 it has been reserved for rotating contemporary commissions funded by the Mayor of London, with support from Arts Council England and Bloomberg Philanthropies.

A Greater London Authority decision in 2024 approved more than £1 million of programme spending across 2024-27, covering the 2026 and 2028 commissions, schools awards and engagement. The artist’s fee on these commissions has previously been put at £30,000, with a larger production budget on top.

Sunday Times critic Waldemar Januszczak looked at the maquette in 2024 and said “what you see is what it says on the tin,” adding that it “lacked originality.” Two years later the tin is five metres high and bolted into the ceremonial centre of the capital.

None of this is a surprise. The winner was announced in March 2024. The official language then was already the same: a “young, metropolitan woman of colour,” a “quotidian figure,” a figure designed to “embrace and confound collective fantasies and assumptions surrounding the Black female body.”

The Fourth Plinth is not a neutral empty shelf. It is the most watched public art slot in Britain, and City Hall has used it, commission after commission, to wag a ‘progressive’ finger at the square that used to commemorate a naval victory.

It is ugly on purpose. The bulk, the cartoon stride, the department-store jewellery – all of it is there to occupy the square in a brazen attempt to make Nelson look like an embarrassment. It’s a humiliation ritual.

The public was invited to “have its say” on the 2024 shortlist. More than 10,000 votes were recorded. The decision still sat with the Fourth Plinth Commissioning Group. The Mayor approves the winner.

They didn’t install a sculpture. They installed a cheap catalogue figure in glamour heels, bolted onto the ceremonial heart of the capital, then force-fed to the public as “everywoman” by people who would call an actual English person on that plinth a hate crime.

The latest atrocity replaces Teresa Margolles’s Mil Veces un Instante, the transgender-faces installation that occupied the same stone for two years.

Of course it did.

In 2024 Sadiq Khan unveiled Margolles’s casts of 850 faces, sold as a monument to “marginalised” trans sex workers, after a YouGov poll found 23 percent of Londoners approved and 43 percent disliked it.

A statue of the late Queen Elizabeth II was pushed aside in favour of that.

Taxpayers covered a £170,000 bill. Khan said the work would “encourage discussion about the fight for freedom and equality.”

It didn’t.

Lady in Blue is not the end of the sequence. It is the middle. And if you think this one is bad, In 2028 It comes down and Andra Ursu?a’s Untitled goes up. The official description is a hollow, life-sized person on a horse, covered in a shroud, cast in translucent pale-green resin.

It’s a green blob.

City Hall says the rider and horse “will remain anonymous, their distinguishing features concealed under the folds that drape over them.” The work “hovers at the edge of visibility.” It is, the programme text continues, “a yet-to-be-uncovered or an already cancelled public monument. A ghost of history and a parody of itself.”

No, it’s a green blob.

That emptiness is the point they want you to swallow. The Fourth Plinth was built for an equestrian statue of William IV. The money ran out. Ursu?a’s ghost horse now arrives as a piss take of the monument that was supposed to stand there.

The programme calls it “an artifact of a hyperfragmented, paranoid time when public space, consensus, and community continue to dissolve.” It “aims to contain irreconcilable narratives without attempting to rewrite them.” It is, the text says, “an object that embodies radical acceptance of our deeply flawed present.”

Try to roll your eyes back into place.

They’ve approved a toxic-green Halloween prop on the plinth reserved for a king and wrote a nonsense thesis in the hope nobody will call it junk.

The order is locked in. Trans faces, then the fat black woman, then some ectoplasm.

Zoom out from the blue dress and the rest of Khan’s London clicks into place.

In 2021 the mayor appointed a Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm – a hand-picked panel of campaigners and cultural operators – to review statues, street names and memorials so the city’s monuments might be made to “reflect” a preferred history. Khan said the body was not there to pull statues down. He had already said “there are some slavers that should come down, and the commission will advise on that.” One appointee had previously vandalised a statue with red paint. Another had backed the toppling of Edward Colston.

This week the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination told Britain to fill public space with statues honouring “people of African descent,” rewrite schoolbooks around “reparatory justice,” and treat historic slavery as a live brief for speech and migration policy. Historians pointed out the obvious: Britain banned the trade, paid to dismantle it, and ran the West Africa Squadron that seized slaving ships. The UN document is not interested in that ledger. It wants the square.

While the new figure was being craned onto the plinth, the approaches to the same square were already lined with steel and concrete vehicle barriers. City Hall will not name the threat those blocks are built for. The public does. They went up because “vehicle as a weapon” attacks are now treated as a standing condition of British civic life. Nelson looks down on crash-rated steel. Diversity, we are told, is a strength. The furniture of the square says otherwise.

The same culture machine is now pushing Fabric, the nightclub brand chaired by the man who also chairs Khan’s Nightlife Taskforce, into St Paul’s Cathedral on a four-year “contemporary music” deal. Peregrine Hood of the Nelson Society asked the only question that matters: “Is nothing sacred any more?” Nelson is buried in that cathedral. His column stands a few hundred yards from the new plinth piece. The mayor’s culture team called the Fabric deal “an extraordinary and unexpected coming together of two very different parts of London.”

Even the stations have been enlisted. Transport for London dropped a pitched-roof “calm space” onto the concourse at Ealing Broadway this week and called it equity. Commuters called it a kennel. The network still cannot keep trains clean, cooled and on time. Fare evasion still bleeds nine figures a year. The pod got the press release.

Trafalgar Square was built to mark a country that won a famous battle for British values. The Fourth Plinth is now used to lecture that country and rub in our faces that our history is being erased and replaced one plinth at a time.

Robert Kennedy Jr., the outstanding US Health and Human Services Secretary, delivered an absolutely historic speech at the RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas, Texas on Thursday night.
Kennedy spoke about his long history in the Democrat Party, a once great party that represented the working man and woman and stood for individual rights and Freedom of Speech. Kennedy tells the sad story of how almost every police officer and fireman belonged to the Democrat Party and how they protected women and the downtrodden.
RFK Jr. described a party that is an absolute shell of its former self. He tells how the former president had his social media taken down for conflicting with the lies they were telling the American people during the COVID epidemic.
Robert also spoke about Democrats’ support of Israel and the party’s clarity on the radical Islamic threat. That is long gone.
And, then Robert Kennedy, Jr. delivered the most powerful and moving history of his relationship with President Donald Trump.
He ended with, “And I am so grateful to God for giving our country a leader like this.”

Robert Kennedy Jr.: I’m 72 years old. And for 70 years of my life, I would have bet any amount of money that I would not be addressing a Republican convention.
Let me tell you something.
The irony of my presence here is inescapable. I attended my first Democratic convention in 1960 when I was 6 years old, and I attended most of the conventions, the Democratic conventions after that, and I spoke as a keynote speaker in many of them. I grew up in a Democratic Party of Franklin Roosevelt, of my Uncle John Kennedy, of my father, Robert Kennedy. And ours was a party— Ours was a party of strong principles, of clear policies, and an inspiring idealistic vision for America. My uncle ran on a platform of tax cuts, strong defense, and fighting communism. Does that sound familiar?
The Democrats of that era stood with labor and working people and the American middle class. Nearly every cop and firefighter was a Democrat. Our party was a champion of the Bill of Rights and particularly for unbridled free speech. It was wary of centralized government power and corporate privilege and secret intelligence agencies. My uncle and father understood the connection between free markets and functional democracy. They stood firmly against crony capitalism on the right and socialism on the left. They were all for competition, for meritocracy, and for excellence, which they thought should be a universal aspiration for Americans.
My father and uncles had served in World War II, and they understood the difference between forever wars that they opposed and wars to protect our national security, which they believed we should never hesitate to defend.
My family played critical roles in building NIH and CDC into centers of gold standard science that transformed America into this relentless dynamo. of international research. They promoted physical fitness, and they protected women’s sports. My Uncle Ted Kennedy wrote Title IX, which— because he wanted to make sure that women, real women, were able— were able to have a safe and guaranteed spot in college sports. And they stood with Israel as the bulwark of democracy. And as a beacon for press and religious freedoms, a haven for oppression— from oppression to gays and women and ethnic and religious minorities. amidst a regional sea of intolerance, of misogyny, of child marriage, of human slavery, and of ethnic and religious genocide. They saw Israel as America’s most critical frontline ally in fighting the toxic ideology of Islamism.
That’s right.
Which by its own accounts is waging an existential war against our country and against Western liberal democracies. It’s an ideology that has subjugated and impoverished and tyrannized and tortured the people of Palestine and the people of Iran, and they openly promise to do the same to us. Democrats opposed government coercion, defended individual rights, believed that government should give Americans information, good information, and then let them— trust them to make up their own minds. Democrats and labor leaders fought fiercely in my generation to stop illegal immigration at the border.
During COVID I watched the Democratic Party turn against every one of its essential values, its principles, and all of the policies that define my party. Democrats turned away from gold standard research and blindly defended industry-sponsored, agenda-driven science written by corrupt and captive regulatory agencies.
And the Democrats, which were once the champions of the American Constitution, systematically obliterated the Bill of Rights. And particularly beginning with the First Amendment, under the guise of combating misinformation, Democrats censored hundreds of scientists, and physicians who questioned the government’s dubious COVID pronouncements and orthodoxies. 37 years— 37 hours after President Biden took the oath of office, he ordered Facebook and Instagram to remove my accounts in order to prevent public debate.

RFK Jr.: I’m not complaining about what happened to me, but it was a bad thing for our country. Democrats obliterated the first— the second leg of the First Amendment, the right to the guaranteed right of assembly, by social distancing regulations that were completely unscience-based. Democrats violated the third leg of the First Amendment, the freedom to worship. They closed every church in our country for a year. Who could imagine that would have ever happened? And they kept open the liquor stores and the big box stores as essential businesses. Democrats torpedoed the 7th Amendment right to jury trial by giving liability shields to the giant pharmaceutical companies. No matter how negligent they were, no matter how reckless, no matter how toxic the ingredients, no matter how grievous your injury, You could not sue them. Democrats violated the 5th Amendment by shutting down 3 million businesses with no due process and no just compensation. Democrats shut down the 4th Amendment, protection from unlawful searches and seizures, by forcing Americans to disclose their medical information before they could exercise their constitutional rights. In a single year, my party obliterated 250 years of constitutional guarantees. The only Bill of Rights that they left unscathed was the Second Amendment, and probably only because there is a Second Amendment.

And then the party of my body, my choice forced citizens to wear masks and to submit to invasive and intrusive medical interventions against their own wills. The party of MeToo— remember that we were all supposed to listen to women and to believe women— they cruelly silenced the voices of tens of thousands of mothers who believed that their children had suffered vaccine injuries. The Democrats declared war on women’s sports, effectively destroying Title IX.
Democrats condemned meritocracy openly and celebrated mediocrity. The Democratic Party became the party of elites, labeling working Americans as deplorables. Democrats cultivated deep ties with Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Ag, Big Food, Big Insurance, and the mainstream media. They embraced policies that divided Americans along racial lines. They abolished my uncle’s physical fitness test because they said that competition was bad for children.

The Democrats abandoned all of these values and all of their traditional values, offering Americans only one policy, the one policy that they stood for, the unbridled, sociopathic, and blind hatred of a single man, Donald J. Trump. And they were so confident that Trump hatred alone was sufficient to win elections that they abandoned accountability and made our government a predatory organism of monumental incompetence and corruption.
The Democrats dismantled the public— public integrity safeguards and opened the floodgates to thieves and fraudsters who fleeced the American medical regulatory agencies for $100 billion annually during every year of the Biden administration. They somehow— they somehow lost 360,000 children, and they turned our federal government into the biggest child trafficking operation in world history.

RFK Jr.:  The Democratic Party, in short, lost its way. I mourn the fact that neither my father nor my uncle would recognize the Democratic Party of today. It struck me this was no longer about left and right. It was about sane and insane. It was about common sense and communism. In April 2023, I ran for president hoping to summon my party back to its bedrock values. But the Democratic Party had lost faith in American voters and utterly ironically lost faith in American democracy. They were convinced that they would lose the ballot box. They couldn’t win. And so they unveiled a lawfare strategy to prevent an election from occurring. They sued every candidate who dared to run against Joe Biden. and then attempted to remove us all from the ballot. A lot of you think that the lawfare was just against Donald Trump. It was mainly against him, but they sued Dean Phillips. They sued Marianne Williamson. They sued Cornel West. They sued Donald Trump 50 times in 38 states to remove him from the ballot.
And they sued me in 12 states to remove me from ballots where I had legally qualified. And then— this is almost comical— after I endorsed President Trump and I tried to remove myself from the ballot so that he could have my votes, they sued me to keep me on the ballot. I’m not joking. Oh, here was the Democratic Party that in my youth, the biggest issue that we had that my father and my uncle fought for was voting rights, and particularly in the southern states, to guarantee that every American had a right to cast a ballot. And here’s that same party 60 years later using all of its ingenuity and all of its power to make sure that Americans could not vote for the candidates that they wanted to vote for. They excluded me from the debates. They canceled the primaries. The Democratic Party changed the rules to make sure I could not win, and neither could the other people who were running as Democrats, no matter how many votes we got. And for the first time in history, they canceled their own convention. No voter ever cast a primary ballot for Kamala Harris. No elected delegate was ever consulted.
A party of no kings simply anointed a queen.
Handpicked by secretive party elites who nobody even knows who they were. They’re just faceless guys with lanyards who were calling all the shots from the upper decks of that convention center, and they— nobody can see their face any more than you can see the face of the people up there. But that’s who was making the decision. And then they canceled the convention and they held a coronation. The day that President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, within 3 hours of his shooting, he called me and asked me for a meeting. And during the series of talks that followed, I realized that everything that I had heard about President Trump and everything I believed about him from the mainstream media was a lie. Everything. I discovered, I discovered a self-effacing man of superior intelligence, of empathy and compassion, with an encyclopedic grasp of the issues and within, in molecular detail, and most of all, a near reckless courage to challenge vested interests and official orthodoxies. I found a man who cared deeply about transparency in government, who believed in protecting free speech more than anything, and the entire United States Constitution. We talked about lowering drug prices, supporting farmers and ranchers, standing up for working Americans, restoring law and order, and protecting public safety and security and national safety as well.
We talked about ending official corporate influence, unraveling the corporate capture of our regulatory agencies, and restoring gold standard science and public trust. We, we talked about ending fraud, waste, and abuse. And most importantly to me, We talked about ending the chronic disease epidemic and restoring the health of our children. President Trump told me that he wanted safe food available to all Americans. He wanted to end chronic disease. He wanted to restore our kids’ health. He found it unacceptable that this country pays 2 to 3 times what every developing nation in the world pays, and yet we have the sickest children in the history of the world. We have the highest chronic disease burden ever recorded. These conversations changed the course of my campaign and my life. I realized that many of the foundational values of the Democratic Party had found a new home, and it was called the Republican Party.

So on August 23rd, 2024, I suspended my campaign and I endorsed President Trump.
Later that day, on stage at the Turning Point rally in Arizona, I met President Trump, and that moment would never have happened without my friend Charlie Kirk. Charlie played a critical and indispensable role at bringing me and President Trump together. In fact, it was something that he was trying to do for almost a year, the last year of my campaign. And today, on the first anniversary of his assassination, I can’t stand here without thinking about him. Charlie believed that people from all different political traditions could find common ground in their love of country. That we were— we, in this age of algorithms driving us all apart and creating this terrible, destructive polarization, the only way that we were going to rescue our country is if we started talking to each other and having congenial conversations. And he helped build the bridge that President Trump and I walked across that day. And I like to believe that Charlie is looking down on all of us now. And, and seeing the seeds that he planted.
That afternoon, President Trump and I stood together in front of thousands of Americans.
We shook hands and we made a promise to the American people. Together, we promised to make America healthy again.
Some of my— some of my Democratic friends told me that I was a fool for trusting President Trump. And so I want to make the record clear right now. President Trump has kept every single promise that he made to me, without exception.
And we have kept our promise to the American people.
Today, 2 years into this administration, Americans are eating more real food. Real food sales were up 8% in 2025.
Americans are eating less processed food. Since President Trump took office, obesity is down by 7% after 40 years of increasing.
And this is best of all— preliminary data that I received 2 days ago. from CDC indicates that we have now reversed a 30-year decline in longevity.
President Trump has ended 9 wars.
He’s restored competency to our government. He’s restored public faith. He’s restored America’s leadership across the globe.
And I am so grateful to God for giving our country a leader like this.
And I’m grateful to President Trump for including me in his administration and giving me a place.
In this extraordinary revolution that is happening in our country, where we’re going to restore American democracy and restore the America that my uncle and father believed in, the exemplary nation respected and emulated across the globe. According to the official account and media narrative, on September 11, 2001, 19 al-Qaeda hijackers took control of four commercial airliners. American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 a.m., followed by United Airlines Flight 175 striking the South Tower at 9:03 a.m. Both towers collapsed within two hours.
American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. United Airlines Flight 93, believed to have been headed for a target in Washington, D.C., crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at 10:03 a.m. after passengers attempted to retake control of the aircraft. The attacks killed 2,977 people.
Al-Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden, claimed responsibility.
However, conspiracy theorists have offered other explanations, including claims that no planes struck the towers and that hologram projectors created the illusion of aircraft striking them. They also claim that the towers were brought down by controlled demolitions.
This article will examine all three theories to determine which makes the most sense.
The first problem with the hologram-projector theory is that no such technology exists. Even today, 3-D movies rely on the same basic technique used 70 years ago, requiring the audience to wear glasses. Even then, the image is not truly three-dimensional. Regardless of where viewers sit in the theater, they see the same image. For that image to be visible, it must be projected onto a stationary screen by a stationary projector. It would be impossible to project a holographic image into the sky that mimics an airplane flying toward a building.
A projected image, holographic or otherwise, consists of light and has no mass. It cannot shatter glass, sever steel columns, or ignite a fuel fire, all of which occurred at the points of impact on both towers. Investigators recovered physical wreckage matching Boeing 767 components, including a wing section later confirmed by a Boeing technician. Radar tracked each aircraft until impact, while cockpit and cabin phone calls from crew members and passengers described the hijackings in real time. Medical examiners also used DNA testing to identify victims at the crash sites. None of this would have been possible without real aircraft and human remains.
The hologram theory is sometimes linked to the controlled-demolition theory, although some versions claim that the demolition was timed to follow real planes striking the towers. This raises a logical problem: If two planes actually struck the buildings, there would have been no need for a controlled demolition.
The towers collapsed after the impacts released about 20,000 gallons of jet fuel, which burns at temperatures between 800 and 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit, igniting fires throughout the buildings. Many victims died from fire and smoke long before the heat weakened the structures enough for them to collapse. If a theorist accepts that the planes struck the towers and caused these fires, there is no reason to introduce a controlled demolition. The fire and smoke billowing from the buildings support claims that intense fires followed the impacts.
The controlled-demolition theory is presumably based partly on the fact that steel does not melt at temperatures between 800 and 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit. While that is true, steel loses about 50 percent of its strength at 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit and about 90 percent at 1,800 degrees. This loss of strength, not melting, is the mechanism identified by NIST. Heated floor trusses sagged and pulled the perimeter columns inward until they buckled, triggering a progressive collapse.
One of the main pieces of evidence cited by the controlled-demolition crowd is that the towers collapsed into their footprints, similar to how a city demolishes unwanted buildings. However, this is not accurate. Debris from the collapses damaged or destroyed more than a dozen surrounding buildings. Four other structures in the World Trade Center complex were immediately crushed or destroyed, a nearby church was completely destroyed, and 7 World Trade Center, which was not struck by an aircraft, caught fire from falling debris and collapsed roughly seven hours later.
FEMA’s assessment states that 10 major buildings experienced partial or total collapse and that debris clouds fell onto and blew into surrounding structures across the complex. The debris field extended well beyond the towers’ footprints. This is the opposite of what a footprint-contained collapse would look like.
Another problem with the controlled-demolition theory is that demolishing a steel high-rise requires cutting hundreds of structural columns and rigging them with explosive charges timed to detonate in sequence. This work requires months of direct access to the building’s core and multiple floors.
The largest steel-frame building ever brought down by controlled demolition in the United States was the J.L. Hudson Department Store in Detroit, Michigan, which was imploded on October 24, 1998. The 25-story building stood 439 feet tall and covered 2.2 million square feet, making it a fraction of the size of a single World Trade Center tower.
Preparing the building for demolition took seven months. A 21-person crew spent three months surveying the structure, followed by four months of engineering design by Controlled Demolition, Inc. A separate 12-person loading crew then spent 24 days placing 4,118 explosive charges at 1,100 locations across nine levels. The charges were connected by 36,000 feet of detonating cord and 4,512 delay elements.
The demolition used 2,728 pounds of explosives and left approximately 200,000 tons of concrete and hardfill material in a debris pile standing 35 to 60 feet tall.
A project the size of the WTC would have been nearly impossible to keep secret. It would have required a crew of hundreds, with trucks moving in and out of Lower Manhattan to carry away steel and concrete and deliver explosives. The buildings had extensive security and surveillance cameras. Everyone from elevator operators and security guards to parking attendants would have had to participate in the conspiracy or fail to notice the work.
Steel and concrete would have had to be removed not only from the lower floors but from floors throughout the buildings, requiring extensive use of the elevators. None of the thousands of employees working for companies in the buildings reported seeing crews cutting steel and concrete or moving explosives. No related construction noise or explosions were reported. Months of heavy truck traffic would also have disrupted Lower Manhattan, yet no complaints or reports document such activity.
Video and photographic evidence, along with computer simulations, showed that neither explosives nor fuel-oil fires played a role and that the heating of floor beams and girders caused a critical support column to fail. Controlled demolitions produce a distinct pattern of nearly simultaneous, high-decibel explosions as charges detonate within milliseconds of one another. Buildings demolished this way collapse from the base within seconds.
The towers instead began collapsing at the points of impact and fire damage, while WTC 7 collapsed after burning for hours. No audio or video recording from that day captured the explosion pattern that a controlled demolition of this scale would produce.
The United States has faced attacks by Islamist terrorist groups for decades, with U.S. citizens targeted at home and abroad. Examples include the April 1983 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut by Islamic Jihad, which killed 17 Americans; the October 1983 truck bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut by Hezbollah, which killed 241 U.S. service members; and the June 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847, during which Hezbollah terrorists tortured and killed a U.S. Navy diver.
The February 1993 World Trade Center bombing in New York killed six people. This was followed by the November 1995 car bombing in Riyadh, which killed five U.S. soldiers; the June 1996 Khobar Towers bombing at a U.S. military base in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 Americans; the August 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, which killed 224 people; and the October 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen.
Post-9/11 domestic attacks included the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, the 2015 San Bernardino attack, the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, and the 2025 New Orleans truck attack on Bourbon Street, in which an Islamic State-inspired attacker killed 14 people.
Occam’s razor holds that the simplest explanation is generally the most likely to be correct. Islamist extremists have a long, documented history of attacking the United States, making it likely that Islamist terrorists carried out the 9/11 attacks. This explanation is strengthened by al-Qaeda’s claim of responsibility. Investigations and subsequent trials also detailed how al-Qaeda-linked terrorists planned and carried out the attacks.

IDF demolished Hezbollah’s sprawling underground terror complex beneath the strategic Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon.
“Tonight we destroyed the largest Iranian outpost outside of Iran — Ali Taher tunnels in Lebanon. Completing the mission. Happy New Year!”
That’s how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu marked the Jewish New Year on Thursday night.
He posted the message in Hebrew on X along with thermal footage of massive explosions ripping through the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon. The blast was so powerful it registered as a 4.1-magnitude tremor.

The Ali Taher Ridge is located within Israel’s southern Lebanon buffer zone, near Nabatieh. According to the Israel Defense Forces, the tunnel systems under Ali Taher served as the “nerve center” of the terror group’s Badr regional division — a unit tasked with the area of southern Lebanon that is north of the Litani River.

A massive blast was heard throughout the region as the IDF demolished the two tunnel routes under the hill with 1,100 tons of explosives. Footage showed a massive fireball erupting above the mountain. Seismic systems also detected the explosion as a 4.1-magnitude earthquake, the United States Geological Survey said.
The IDF described the facility as a “strategic infrastructure that was built over two decades,” an activity it said was financed and planned by Iran. Dozens of Hezbollah operatives were believed to be holed up under Ali Taher when a new ceasefire took effect in June.
Inside the two tunnels — spanning over two kilometers — troops found dozens of Iranian-made rockets, missiles and drones, along with firearms, anti-tank missiles, and hundreds of mines and other explosives, the military said.
The tunnel also featured “command centers, weapons rooms, generator rooms, living quarters, showers, and a kitchen,” which the IDF said enabled Hezbollah operatives “to conduct fighting and remain there for extended periods.”
Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said the complex was “strategic terrorist infrastructure that was constructed over two decades, funded and planned by the Iranian terror regime.” It was designed as a staging base to conquer the Galilee and provided observation and fire control over Israeli communities like Metula and Kiryat Shmona.
Inside the tunnels, IDF forces found dozens of Iranian-made rockets, missiles, and drones, plus machine guns, anti-tank missiles, hundreds of mines, and other explosives. The site served as the nerve center for Hezbollah’s Badr division north of the Litani River.
With the demolition, Israel completed operational control of the Ali Taher Ridge, above and below ground, and finished organizing its security zone in southern Lebanon. IDF forces will stay and keep destroying whatever Hezbollah tries to rebuild.
