FBI, ICE Agents Won’t Monitor Polls During Midterms: Filing

Authored by Zachary Stieber via The Epoch Times,FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employees will not monitor voting locations during the upcoming midterm elections, although other law enforcement agents will, a government official said in a court filing on Oct. 28.”There will be no Federal Bureau of Investigation or U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees, much less agents, serving as monitors,” the Department of Justice official said in the document, which was filed with the federal court in the District of Columbia.The official, Eric Neff, acting chief of the Voting Section in the department’s Civil Rights Division, said he was aware of only one Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee participating in the division’s poll-monitoring effort. That employee, from Customs and Border Protection, is serving on behalf of the division, not as a DHS representative, according to Neff.DHS did not respond to a request for comment by the time of publication.The Department of Justice confirmed earlier Wednesday that it plans to send 1,000 workers to monitor polls across all 50 states.”Every monitor will merely observe and report any potential violations of federal law to the Department, which will be reviewed after Election Day,” a spokeswoman told The Epoch Times in an email.The spokeswoman declined to say who would serve as monitors or where exactly they would be deployed.Neff said monitors would include employees from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.Those employees will be prohibited from carrying guns and barred from taking any action beyond normal Civil Division monitoring conduct, such as observing polling locations and taking notes, according to Neff.”Thus, while monitoring, the monitors will not be acting as ‘law enforcement personnel,’ a ‘law enforcement officer,’ or a ‘law enforcement agent’ as commonly understood,” he wrote, adding that monitors have been trained not to interfere with voting or election officials and to only speak to voters after they have cast ballots.For years, the Department of Justice has deployed monitors to polling sites for both federal and non-federal elections to watch for violations of federal laws, such as the Voting Rights Act. Federal law says the monitors “shall investigate and report to the Attorney General.”The department usually gives jurisdictions advance notice before sending monitors, according to nonprofit organization Campaign Legal Center. The center said monitors should not identify themselves to voters and election officials as federal agents, prosecutors, or anything other than Department of Justice employees or monitors, because doing so could intimidate voters in violation of federal law.New York Attorney General Letitia James said this week that New Yorkers should not fear federal workers at polling locations.”Armed federal agents are not allowed at polling places, and no one can use a badge, a weapon, or a threat to stop you from voting,” she said. “Voting in New York is safe, and my office will make sure every eligible voter can cast their ballot and be heard.”The Department of Justice has declined to publicly release locations employees will monitor on Nov. 3.Neff said in the new filing that the division is still identifying all locations it will send monitors to. Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia fired by War Secretary Pete Hegseth
War Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the firing of Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia from the Joint Chiefs of Staff for leaking classified information.
The far-left Atlantic reported on Sylvia’s firing, labeling him “the Pentagon’s chief planner” and claiming that “no explanation was given” for his ouster.
The report further claims that his departure “comes at an inopportune moment, given that President Trump may be planning to relaunch the war on Iran.”
“Now is not the time when you’d want to lose the J5,” a former Joint Chiefs of Staff official told the Atlantic. “This person would serve as a critical link between the operational force, the department policy, and the White House.”
However, a Department of War official told The Gateway Pundit that Sylvia was fired for “severe misconduct,” including leaking classified information on the Iran and Russia-Ukraine wars.
He even circumvented the Pentagon’s new media policy by “meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information.” He now faces a criminal referral to the Department of Justice.
Regarding the Atlantic’s claims that he was a central planner in Iran war operations, the official said, “Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War.” They added, “That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper.”

The University of Texas at San Antonio student who stood up at a Turning Point USA “Pick Up the Mic” event and read a gleeful parody poem celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination has been identified as Isa Casahuga-Lemgruber, and someone bought the domain for her name so that everyone will know just what kind of person she is.
Casahuga-Lemgruber is reportedly a Class of 2029 student majoring in International Relations and Diplomacy, from Houston, and a graduate of St. Agnes Academy.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the student, who introduced herself as “Pamper Baby,” told the crowd she had taken a Plan B that morning, felt guilty as an immigrant, and then launched into a parody of “The Night Before Christmas.”
After finishing the poem, which included the lines “as we solemnly remembered a shot to the neck” and an invitation to a “Squirt for Kirk” event, she told Texas Youth Summit founder Christian Collins he was “brave” for appearing on campus without neck protection.

What makes the video even more disturbing is that there were people there who cheered her on.
Kirk, of course, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
Collins posted the video and said he would pray for her.
Now, someone has registered the domain IsaCasahuga.com and published her information and the poem’s full text so the record of what she said remains permanently available, including to potential future employers.
The page states she attends UTSA, lists her major, and notes she attended St. Agnes Academy in Houston, a Catholic school.

The website states:

Isa is “thrilled” to gloat about conservatives getting murdered.
The website also reprinted the poem in full, along with the video of her reciting it, under the heading “Poem written by Isa Casahuga.”
Speaking to The Gateway Pundit about the incident, TPUSA contributor and close friend of Kirk, Jack Posobiec, said, “It is plain for all to see. The Left wants us dead. I am not using hyperbole; they are openly celebrating murder, violence, and the slaughter of their political opponents.”

Online sleuths dug up her identity after the video went viral.
An account called ElectionMapsIF posted that her family is from Brazil and asked why foreigners are allowed into the country to “incite terrorism against American patriots,” tagging the Deputy Secretary of State.

The same account later noted that her mother has called Isa a “citizen of the world,” supports Occupy Democrats, and follows an immigration lawyer.

The identification has prompted calls for UTSA to discipline her and for immigration authorities to review the family’s status.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Reportedly Targeted In Chinese Spy Plot

U.S. spy agencies concluded that a Chinese businesswoman who had cultivated Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was passing intelligence to Beijing, and that President Trump was briefed on it roughly a year ago and took no action, according to claims in a Thursday report from the New York Times – which was based on interviews with people briefed on the surveillance, who spoke anonymously because the findings are classified. The woman is Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le, a Chinese citizen and executive at Megaspeed, a Singapore-based data center company.

According to the report, US officials had already suspected Megaspeed of helping China get around export limits on advanced AI chips. Then, according to the paper’s sources, electronic surveillance of her showed she was in contact with an American citizen. The unmasking process, which lets agencies with a need to know identify Americans swept up in foreign surveillance, identified that citizen as Jensen Huang.

The Times’ sources said Jensen Huang has not been given a defensive briefing, the warning sometimes offered to Americans targeted by foreign spies. They said the surveillance of Alice Huang continues. U.S. officials did not believe at the time that Huang knew what she was doing, the paper reported, though it is unclear whether that assessment has changed, and some senior Trump administration officials doubt he could have missed it. The Times said it could not determine which agencies were watching her, what prompted it, or what she passed along.Nvidia disputes the implication. Spokesman John Rizzo told the Times that “Jensen’s interactions with Ms. Huang are not unusual or unexpected,” that Huang speaks with thousands of customer executives a year, and that Nvidia is confident the government would tell it if someone were a threat to American industry. He said Megaspeed receives ordinary business information and no national security material. The White House, the CIA and the NSA declined to comment. Alice Huang did not respond to requests for comment, and Megaspeed told the Times that it takes the matter “extremely seriously” and has hired outside counsel to investigate. The Chinese Embassy’s spokesman called U.S. accusations “groundless smears and slanders.”According to the Times, Trump has been wary of disrupting Nvidia’s chip sales, which are helping to drive the economy and the stock market, and of complicating trade talks with China, where he is due to travel next month. Current and former officials told the paper that investigations and proposed sanctions touching Nvidia or China have stalled at the Commerce Department, which regulates chip exports.Huang’s access to the president is the backdrop – with the Times reporting that he lobbied the administration to loosen AI rules and roll back tighter limits on chip sales to China, and negotiated a deal giving the U.S. government a 25 percent cut of certain China-bound chip sales. It also reported that Nvidia donated at least $20 million to Trump’s ballroom fund, according to a person with knowledge of the matter, and that Huang sat at the head table at Xi Jinping’s White House state dinner last month.

Mystery Singapore company Megaspeed under US probe over banned Nvidia chips (The Straits Times)

Megaspeed has been in the government’s sights since late 2024, when a Commerce official visited its Malaysian data center and found Nvidia equipment still packed in boxes. The Justice Department took over the Commerce investigation this year, administration officials told the Times, and Singapore’s own investigation brought Alice Huang in for questioning in 2025 before releasing her. In October 2025, Sen. Tom Cotton asked Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to investigate Megaspeed.Trade records from ImportGenius show, the Times said, that Megaspeed’s Malaysian sister company bought at least $4.8 billion of advanced AI equipment containing Nvidia chips between June 2024 and February 2026. Megaspeed rents computing power to Chinese firms including Alibaba, and investigators suspect some of its chips are reaching China illegally. Nvidia has said there is no evidence of its chips being smuggled to China, and still lists Megaspeed as a cloud partner on its website. Photos posted to LinkedIn show Huang and Alice Huang together at a Taipei bar in June 2024, weeks before Megaspeed’s purchases began.And for the record – no one has publicly charged Alice Huang or Megaspeed with a crime, and no one has accused Jensen Huang of knowing anything. The intelligence claim rests on anonymous sources describing classified material, and every party named has denied or declined to confirm it.

Football is back for Week 8, and it is hard to believe we are almost halfway through the regular season. I still feel like we don’t really know all that much about these teams. Are some of these teams that have good records actually bad (the Chiefs), or are some of the bad-record teams actually good (the Cowboys)? Maybe those two teams aren’t even the best examples of those situations. There are two teams on Thursday Night Football that are a bit hard to judge, as the Panthers and Packers take each other on.The Carolina Panthers are 3-3 for the season and 2-1 on the road. Bryce Young is searching for a contract extension, or maybe at this point a new home. The good news for him is that he has looked fantastic in his fourth year under center. He is on pace to have the best season of his career. The running game has been solid for the team, even if they don’t really use it as much as they probably need to. Despite both of these teams excelling in the passing game, they aren’t exactly elite offenses. Both are pretty good at stopping the pass. I think this game is likely to be a slow-starting game with both trying to figure things out. I’d be surprised if it goes over 47.5 for the game, but I think the under in the first half is even more likely. Neither team is a fast-starting team.
