WATCH: Video Shows Man Walking into Unlocked New Jersey Early Voting Trailer with Unattended Machines an Hour Before Opening

November 2, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

A video posted by independent journalist Leonard Filipowski, better known as Leroy Truth, shows a Union City, New Jersey, resident walking into an early-voting mobile trailer around 9:01 a.m. on Tuesday, nearly a full hour before the site was scheduled to open, and finding the machines unattended.
The trailer at 10th Street and Summit Avenue contained two voting machines, electronic poll books, and other election materials, and no staff was present.
The footage shows the man entering the unlocked trailer and saying nobody is inside.
WATCH:

Hudson County Board of Elections Clerk Michael Harper later confirmed the events to Hudson County View.
Harper said an electrician who services the generators powering Union City’s 10 early-voting trailers had checked the site around 8:50 a.m. and “wrongfully” left the door unlocked.
Poll workers assigned to the location arrived later, noticed the door was open, and reported the problem.
Harper told the outlet that the machines were not replaced.
County officials ran a real-time diagnostic check and stated that the machines and poll books had not been powered on, Wi-Fi was off, and the vote totals matched the previous night’s recorded numbers.
Harper said the county was “absolutely 100 percent confident those machines remained unmolested” and that password and physical safeguards, including a locked USB port, would have made casual tampering difficult.
They chose to continue using the machines for the remainder of early voting.
Harper described the video to Hudson County View as potentially a “setup” and indicated the trailer was unlocked for roughly 30 minutes at most rather than overnight. He also said that the county had been in contact with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

URGENT: MAJOR NJ ELECTION SECURITY BREACH CAUGHT ON VIDEO! —FEDERAL INVESTIGATION NEEDED!
At 9:01 AM, a Union City resident entered an UNLOCKED, UNATTENDED early-voting trailer containing TWO voting machines and election materials. Polls opened at 10 AM.
Hudson County election official Michael Harper admitted the machines were NOT replaced. At 1:45 in my interview, he even suggested CHARGING THE RESIDENT WITH TRESPASS—for entering what he believed was an open polling place!
Who else entered? Were the machines compromised? Why weren’t they replaced?
I am investigating the handling of this breach and demanding scrutiny of Mayor/Senator Brian Stack, Superintendent Maryanne Kelleher and Clerk Michael Harper.
TAG @TheJusticeDept, @POTUS, @FBI, @AGToddBlanche !
Demand an IMMEDIATE INDEPENDENT FEDERAL INVESTIGATION, preservation of all evidence and verification of the machines’ integrity!

The HCV reports:
Looking at the video, Harper ultimately felt it was a set up and insisted that the trailer was left unlocked and unattended for 30 minutes at the absolute most, not overnight, later adding he wasn’t aware of the situation until days after the fact.
“That person watched that [electrician] come and go, and to me, the verbiage is so over the top. That person knew they were walking into an empty trailer when they walked in, I have no doubt,” Harper stated.
Nonetheless, he indicated that plans have been put in place in conjunction with Union City City Clerk Hilda Rosario to prevent such an oversight in the future.
“We’re going to add a city clerk representative to that group that goes in the morning,” Harper said.
“We have already, during the rest of this early voting, put another person on that who is sort of directly responsible for opening and locking that door so we make sure this never happens again. It was an oversight, nobody’s saying that it wasn’t.”
The report notes that under New Jersey law, Section 19:48-6 of Title 19, “After the voting machines shall be delivered to the polling places, the governing body of the municipality wherein such polling places are located shall provide ample police protection against molestation, tampering, or damage to the machines.”

Elon Musk admits Grok Bot is too costly as users hit caps

November 2, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: SUCCESS, The Street

If you pay for an AI assistant, the usage meter is the number you learn to watch. This past week, many paying users of Grok Bot, the AI agent from Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SPCX), ran out days early.

When one subscriber asked Elon Musk on Nov. 1 for a reset, he didn’t promise one. “The cost of serving Grok Bot was unsustainably high relative to revenue,” Musk wrote on X. He offered no figures and no timeline.

Two days earlier, Musk had posted that “terrestrial compute will be peanuts compared to orbital compute.” His company also runs the largest AI data center by computing power, according to Epoch AI.

To me, that clash marks the moment Musk’s favorite growth story became a cost problem.

Grok Bot works like an employee, not a chatbot

Grok Bot doesn’t answer one question and go quiet.

Bloomberg described it as built to work like an always-on employee. A chat reply uses a short burst of computing, while an agent keeps drawing on chips until the job is done.

Musk cheered that pattern on SpaceX’s earnings call on Oct. 20. “The usage of Grok bot grows over time per user; it does not decline.”

Paid weekly users reached 800,000 in early October, more than double the prior month, President Gwynne Shotwell said. For a plan that bundles usage into a monthly price, every heavy user increases costs.

Every Grok Bot hour is an hour SpaceX could rent out

The cost Musk described goes beyond electricity. SpaceX’s AI business, renamed Super Intelligence, brought in $7.6 billion in third-quarter revenue, according to its earnings release.

Fortune reported that the total includes computing capacity leased to outside customers.

CFO Bret Johnsen credited those cloud service deals for most of the segment’s growth. SpaceX, he added, will keep weighing which use pays best: renting chips out or serving its own products.

Answering Goldman Sachs Group analyst Eric Sheridan, Musk said SpaceX aims to split computing roughly evenly between itself and renters. Demand is strong enough, he said, that SpaceX could rent its capacity several times over.

Every hour a subscriber’s agent occupies a SpaceX chip, that chip isn’t earning market rent. I see “unsustainable” as a comparison with that rent, not just a gripe about power bills.

Earth’s data centers carry costs orbit would avoid

Colossus 2 in Memphis holds roughly 1.1 million H100 equivalents, Epoch estimates. The unit restates mixed hardware as H100s, a common AI chip, so sites can be compared. Epoch expects the site to reach about 1.8 million by early 2027, Seeking Alpha reported.

Powering it is the hard part. The NAACP sued xAI, SpaceX’s AI unit, on April 14, 2026. The suit alleges xAI ran 27 gas turbines without an air permit in Southaven, Mississippi, to power Colossus 2.

On Oct. 30, the day of Musk’s “peanuts” post, a federal judge refused to dismiss the case, DeSoto County News reported. The court rejected xAI’s argument that the turbines were exempt mobile sources. Mississippi permitted permanent turbines there in March, and xAI has said it plans to phase out the temporary ones.

Musk told analysts that suppliers say turbine blades and vanes run 12 to 18 months behind the rest of each machine. That lag slows new power on the ground.

SpaceX’s own IPO filing warned that data center demand outrunning power supply already imposes “unsustainable strains on terrestrial power grids.” The same word now describes Grok Bot.

The orbital pitch is built to delete those problems. The filing says the satellites would run on near-constant sunlight and use space itself for cooling. In orbit, there is no air permit to win, no neighbor to convince, and no grid connection to wait for.

What stands out to me is the workload SpaceX picked. The filing says SpaceX believes they can handle energy-hungry inference, the work of running AI models for users. That is exactly the work Grok Bot burns through.

SpaceX’s orbital timeline leaves subscribers waiting

Timing is the catch. The filing said orbital deployment could begin as early as 2028. Musk later moved the first launch to the fourth quarter of 2027, with significant scale in 2028, Bloomberg reported.

Before then, SpaceX can charge heavy users more, tighten allowances, or shift chips away from renters. Musk’s past-tense wording hints that a fix may be in place, though SpaceX hasn’t announced one.

The bigger shift reaches beyond SpaceX. Flat-fee AI plans were priced for people who chat, not for agents that work around the clock.

Musk is betting the cheapest home for those agents sits in orbit. Until a rocket proves it, every company selling AI agents faces the math Grok Bot users ran into this past week.
