FOX News Show ‘The Five’ Continues to Crush All Competition in Cable News Ratings

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

Screencap of YouTube video.
The Five on FOX News is a cable news ratings juggernaut.
Not only did they just finish first in ratings for the third quarter of 2026, crushing all competition, they did it for the 20th straight quarter.
When the show first aired, people at the network probably thought it would do well, but it’s likely that they had no idea a panel show would grow to such remarkable popularity.
FOX News reports:
‘The Five’ leads cable news for 20th straight quarter as Fox News outdraws CNN and MS NOW combined
Fox News Channel continued to dominate ahead of its 30th anniversary, finishing the third quarter of 2026 ahead of CBS among weekday primetime viewers while crushing all of cable.
Fox News averaged 2.4 million weekday primetime viewers to beat CBS for the quarter while continuing to lead the broadcast network year-to-date among weekday primetime viewers.
When it comes to cable, Fox News averaged 1.3 million total-day viewers to finish as the only network to crack the one-million viewer benchmark. MS NOW finished second with an average audience of 592,000 followed by ESPN, CNN and HGTV.
During primetime, Fox News averaged 2.1 million viewers compared to 1.1 million for second-place ESPN. MS NOW settled for 930,000 and CNN managed only 607,000 as Fox News outdrew them combined in both categories.
Along the way, Fox News commanded 56% of the audience in total day and 57% during primetime.
“The Five,” with Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Emily Compagno, Jessica Tarlov and Harold Ford Jr., averaged 3.1 million viewers to finish as the No. 1 show on cable news. It was the 20th consecutive quarter that “The Five” has been the highest-rated show in cable news.
The hosts are driving a lot of this success. See some recent clips below:

“The Left has reframed socialism, so it’s no longer an economic program. It’s an IDENTITY.” @greggutfeld says young Americans are being taught to view socialism as a moral stance without understanding its devastating real-world consequences.

8 Best Crypto Wallets of October 2026

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: Money.com, SUCCESS

Key Takeaways

OKX Wallet is the best crypto wallet overall due to its high security scores, extensive features and the large number of assets it supports. If you’re looking for a hardware wallet, depending on your budget, the Trezor Safe 5 or 3 are the best options.
Despite the name, crypto wallets technically don’t store your crypto. They hold the “keys” to your digital assets on the blockchain, a decentralized digital ledger.
Crypto wallets are available as software and web-based apps, known as hot wallets, or as physical devices, called cold wallets.
We evaluated 58 crypto wallets, comparing 46 data points that include their number of supported assets, trading features, security audit scores and supported platforms.

Some people searching for crypto wallets are actually looking for a crypto exchange. If you’re interested in learning where to buy and sell cryptocurrency without a crypto wallet — as well as the difference between centralized and decentralized exchanges — read our guide on the Best Crypto Exchanges.
Our top picks for the best crypto wallets

OKX Wallet: Best Crypto Wallet Overall
Base: Best Crypto Wallet for Beginners
Trust Wallet: Best Mobile Crypto Wallet
Sparrow: Best Bitcoin Wallet
MetaMask: Best Ethereum Wallet
Phantom: Best Solana Wallet
Trezor Safe 5: Best Cold Wallet
Trezor Safe 3: Best Budget Cold Wallet

Pros

130+ native chains and four trading modes
Outstanding security infrastructure and tools
Extensive real-time data terminal
Fee payments using stablecoins

Cons

OKX Exchange unavailable in New York, Texas and some U.S. territories
Daunting, feature-dense interface

HIGHLIGHTS

Platforms

CertiK Skynet Score
91.31 (AA)

Swap fee
0%-0.5%

Why we chose it: OKX Wallet supports one of the largest number of crypto chains among wallets while boasting arguably the most complete set of features. It offers four different trading boards based on experience level and strategy, lets you pay gas fees in stablecoins — removing one of the most persistent issues with multi-chain wallets — and combines several decentralized finance tools in a single interface, including a decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator and a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.
OKX Wallet’s security is also noteworthy. It uses multi-party computational (MPC) security, which means your private key is never stored in only one place, and it supports multisignature, a system that requires two or more private keys to authorize and execute a transaction. The wallet’s high scores with security auditors further solidifies its reputation.
There is one important caveat: While the OKX Wallet is available everywhere in the U.S., you cannot use the OKX exchange in New York, Texas, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Users in those locations will need another exchange for trading, adding an extra step when moving crypto to and from OKX Wallet.

Pros

Supports a wide variety of chains, crypto and dApps
Onboarding designed for users who are new to crypto
24/7 support via live chat, Discord and social media
Seed phrase backup with optional cloud recovery

Cons

Closed-source code limits independent audits

HIGHLIGHTS

Platforms

Pros

Over 10 million assets across 100 supported blockchains

Designed for mobile with a simple, clean interface
Security Scanner for harmful transactions
Built-in NFT gallery and dApp browser

Cons

No live customer support

HIGHLIGHTS

Platforms
Android, Brave, Chrome, Edge, iOS

CertiK Skynet Score
91.23 (AA)

Swap fee
Up to 0.7%

Why we chose it: Trust Wallet is one of the easiest wallets to use on mobile thanks to its accessible interface, which neatly lays out several decentralized finance tools. The wallet also supports cross-chain swaps between a broad range of assets and has some of the highest scores on security assessment platforms. Notably, its Security Scanner tool flagged over $191 million in potentially harmful transactions in 2025.

Why we chose it: Sparrow offers complete control over your bitcoin’s trading fees, letting you choose between public, private or Bitcoin Core servers for trades. It comes with a transaction editor that works as a blockchain explorer and has reduced storage requirements due to its light client. The wallet also supports the Lightning Network, a payment system built on bitcoin that enables faster transactions.

Pros

Standard integration target for most Ethereum apps
Additional functionality through third-party plugins
Frequent updates and security patches
99.99% transaction success rate

Cons

CertiK Skynet Score
88.31 (AA)

Swap fee
0.875%

Why we chose it: MetaMask combines strong security measures with customizable transaction settings, built-in token tracking and slippage controls. Moreover, when developers build a DeFi protocol, an NFT marketplace or a Web3 application on Ethereum, MetaMask is almost always the first wallet they integrate with. That means users enjoy fewer compatibility gaps and “connect wallet” failures, and more features across Ethereum than those of any other wallet.

Pros

Direct profit and loss tracking for Solana tokens

Built-in swaps, staking and NFT management
24/7 live customer support
Real-time scam detection

Cons

Why we chose it: Phantom functions less like a storage tool and more like a native operating layer for Solana. No other wallet offers as many features for the network in a single platform, including built-in NFT management, profit and loss tracking and access to derivatives markets. Every major Solana exchange and NFT marketplace connects to Phantom natively, meaning you can spend less time troubleshooting and more time actually managing your crypto.

CER Security Rating
C

*Security rating and platforms for the brand’s official app, Trezor Suite.
Why we chose it: The Trezor Safe 3 is the hardware wallet brand’s current entry-level model, featuring a powerful EAL 6+ chip and a sleek, modern design. The wallet may not have all the bells and whistles of its siblings, the Safe 5 and 7, but it doesn’t need them. At $59, its hands-on transaction verification, PIN or passphrase entry and small frame make the device a reliable entry point for new cold wallet users.

Other crypto wallets we considered
Ledger
Ledger is a well-known brand in the hardware wallet space with a solid device lineup that pairs support for over 90 chains and 15,000 crypto with Bluetooth or USB connectivity depending on the model. Its wallets also come with many useful security features, including checks for common scams on higher-end models and clear signing to verify the details of a transaction.
That being said, Ledger’s operating system being closed-source may ward off some buyers, as it means the public cannot independently verify the code for hidden vulnerabilities (which have been exploited in the past).
Learn more by reading our full Ledger review.
Tangem
Tangem’s wallet model stores the private key on several card-like devices that act as each other’s recovery method. The cards require no batteries or charging, have passed firmware audits from Kudelski Security and Riscure, and their chip was assigned a EAL6+ certification. While innovative, the wallet supports fewer assets compared to other popular hardware wallets and might raise concerns for users who prefer more traditional security methods.
Zengo
Zengo uses MPC to eliminate seed phrases and replaces them with a keyless security model that makes it harder to lose access to your wallet. The wallet’s intuitive design, 24/7 live customer support and streamlined setup process — which help quickly onboard new users — further add to its beginner-friendly appeal, making it a strong alternative to Base.
What you need to know about crypto wallets
A crypto wallet is a software program or hardware device that stores the data needed to access your cryptocurrency. Despite the name, it does not store coins or tokens directly. Instead, it lets you send, receive and manage digital assets by linking them to your wallet address, a string of letters and numbers you share so others can send you crypto.
When someone sends you crypto, they are not moving physical or digital coins into your wallet. They are updating the blockchain — a digital ledger that records crypto transactions — to show that a certain amount of cryptocurrency or a specific asset is associated with your wallet.
Every crypto wallet creates and stores a pair of keys to record blockchain transactions. The public key is used to generate your wallet address, which functions like a bank account number. The private key proves you own that address and lets you authorize, or “sign,” transactions that send crypto out.
Anyone can send crypto to your address, but only someone with the private key can move it. That’s why you should never share your private key or your seed phrase, which is the 12 to 24 words most wallets use to back it up.
Types of crypto wallet
There are two types of crypto wallet: hot wallets, which are computer programs, and cold wallets, which are mostly hardware devices. Some wallet brands operate under a hybrid model, offering both types of wallet for crypto management.

Type of crypto wallet

Connectivity

Best for…

Main advantage

Main drawback

Hot wallet

Always online

Frequent trading, mobile access, small balances

Convenience and fast access

More exposure to hacks, malware and phishing

Cold wallet

Offline except when connected by USB or bluetooth

Long-term storage and larger balances

Stronger protection from online attacks

Loss of device, seed phrase or private key can permanently block access

Hot wallets
Hot wallets are software programs that are always online. They allow you to access and manage crypto on a mobile application, desktop program or web browser extension.
The primary advantage of hot wallets is convenience. Because your public and private keys are stored and encrypted within the app or website, this lets you access your funds from anywhere so long as you have an internet connection. Yet, this constant online connectivity leaves them more vulnerable to cyberattacks, particularly through software exploits or malware.

Cold wallets
Cold wallets store your public and private keys offline, most commonly on hardware devices but also on paper or engraved metal. Hardware wallets allow crypto transactions only when connected to a computer through a compatible hot wallet.
The offline nature of cold wallets makes them nearly impervious to cyberattacks. Hackers would need physical access to the device and its password to steal funds. But this level of security comes at a risk: If you misplace the wallet, forget your seed phrase and don’t have some sort of backup, you might lose access to your crypto forever.
How to choose the best crypto wallet
The best crypto wallet for you will be the one that aligns most closely with your trading plans and holding goals. Some wallets are built for frequent trading: they’re easy to access and navigate. Others are designed for long-term storage, offering stronger security guardrails.
Before opening an account or buying a device, ask yourself:

What do I need in a wallet? There is more to crypto than buying and selling. For example, investors who want to make passive income can look for wallets that allow crypto staking, where you commit your coins to a network, or crypto lending.
How often do I plan to trade? Consider whether you are going to be trading frequently, buying and holding indefinitely — HODL (“Hold on for Dear Life”), as crypto investors affectionately refer to this practice — or something in between. Hot wallets are better for active traders, while cold storage is recommended for holding your crypto long term.

What kinds of assets do I want to buy? Not every wallet supports the same blockchain networks and crypto. Pick one that supports the assets you want to trade or hold. Ideally, it will also be compatible with any other coins you may want in the future, including different types of cryptocurrency like altcoins and stablecoins.

How much am I willing to spend on a crypto wallet? Hardware wallets are ideal for holding large amounts of crypto, but they require an upfront payment to own the wallet itself. Some hot wallets have high crypto trading fees on their integrated exchanges but offer faster transactions or greater functionality.

How to set up a crypto wallet
Your setup process will vary depending on whether you choose an app, browser extension or hardware device, but these four steps cover the basics regardless of wallet type.

Choose a wallet that supports your crypto. Check that your wallet of choice supports the coins you want to trade and the devices you plan to use it on. A bitcoin-only wallet such as Sparrow serves a different purpose than one built to operate across blockchains, like OKX and Base.
Get the wallet from an official source. Download software from the provider’s website or its linked app store listing. If you choose a hardware wallet, buy it from the manufacturer or an authorized seller, then follow the manufacturer’s setup instructions. Fake wallet apps and websites can steal the information needed to access your crypto.
Create the wallet and secure your backup. Follow the prompts provided by your wallet to set a password or PIN and create a backup. Many wallets provide a recovery phrase that can restore access in case you lose the device or password. Write it down, store it somewhere private and never share it with anyone.
Send a small test transfer. In your new wallet, select the crypto you want to receive and copy its receiving address. Before sending from an exchange or another wallet, confirm that the asset, address and network all match. Transfer a small amount first and check that it arrives before moving the rest; a transfer on the wrong network may be impossible to recover.

Latest news
Trezor says a breach at its third-party email provider exposed 347,149 newsletter subscribers’ email addresses in September. An attacker also sent a message appearing to come from Trezor that directed recipients to an app asking for their wallet backup. Trezor claims its wallets and other systems were unaffected, but exposed addresses could be targeted by future phishing attempts.
A joint warning from the FBI and international partners describes how North Koreans posing as recruiters tricked job seekers into running malicious files during interviews or coding assignments. Authorities say the group compromised at least 30,000 devices and stole funds or credentials from more than 7,000 crypto wallets between roughly December 2025 and July 2026. The malware targeted private keys and recovery phrases stored on victims’ computers.

Best Crypto Wallet FAQs
Can my crypto wallet be hacked?
Yes, technically any crypto wallet can be hacked, but hot wallets are the bigger target because they’re always online. Cold wallets like the Trezor Safe 5 keep private keys offline, so a thief needs the physical device and its PIN. Even top-rated hot wallets aren’t immune: Trust Wallet’s Chrome extension was compromised in December 2025.
Is crypto in a wallet insured?
No. Crypto held in a wallet isn’t FDIC- or SIPC-insured, and it isn’t bank guaranteed. Some platforms self-insure instead: Bitget Wallet backs users with a $300 million protection fund. Self-custody wallets like Trezor and Sparrow carry no coverage at all, so a lost seed phrase means a permanent loss.
Do I need a wallet to buy crypto?
No. You can buy and hold crypto directly on an exchange like Coinbase or Kraken without your own wallet. But on an exchange the platform holds your private keys, meaning your access depends on that company staying solvent and secure. A self-custody wallet puts the keys in your hands. As crypto investors put it: “Not your keys, not your coins.”
What happens if I lose my crypto wallet?
If you have your 12- to 24-word seed phrase, you can restore the entire wallet onto a new device in minutes. Without it, your crypto is almost always unrecoverable. Some wallets now avoid this: Zengo uses MPC cryptography with a three-factor recovery model and no seed phrase, and Trezor’s multi-share backup splits your phrase so you only need a subset to restore access.
Can I have more than one crypto wallet?
Yes. You can hold as many crypto wallets as you want, and many active crypto traders use at least two. The common setup is a hot wallet like Trust Wallet or Phantom for everyday trading and small balances, paired with a cold wallet like the Trezor Safe 3 for long-term holdings. Each wallet has its own keys, so a breach of one doesn’t expose the others.
Are crypto wallets free?
Most hot wallets — like MetaMask, Phantom and Trust Wallet — are free to download and use. They don’t charge fees to hold your crypto, but you’ll pay fees when you swap or trade inside the wallet. Cold wallets are hardware, so they cost money upfront. For example, the Trezor Safe 3 runs $59, while high-end models like the NGRAVE ZERO can reach nearly $400.

Methodology
To accurately evaluate crypto wallets, the team at Money gathered 46 data points from 58 crypto wallets — 28 hot and 30 cold. The two types of wallets don’t share the same features and have different use cases, so we weighed factors differently for each one. However, security was paramount for hot and cold wallets alike.
Security
For many people, the whole point of getting a crypto wallet is to keep their coins and tokens safe. That’s why security is the factor that held the biggest weighting during our evaluation process.
Our main sources of data for evaluating security were third-party assessment sites and Web3 security auditors. These platforms rate wallets based on a variety of factors like app security, bug bounties, threat prevention tools, penetration testing and previous security incidents.
Not every wallet shows up on audit platforms: bitcoin-only wallets like Sparrow and BlueWallet, for example, don’t interact with smart contracts or other blockchains and have no native token to analyze, which makes them harder to rate. We filled the gaps with our own research into each wallet’s network and app security, authentication options, code audits, certifications and more.
Functionality
A crypto wallet’s functionality rests on the variety of assets, networks and trading tools it supports. Keep in mind that a small number of the first two is not inherently a bad thing — fewer supported blockchains means less attack vectors for cybercriminals — but it does limit diversification.
Crypto wallets with a larger number of tradable assets, live market charts, Web3 support, customizable transactions and staking capabilities were highly favored in our analysis. For bitcoin-only wallets, we also considered any features that enhanced storage and transactions, such as support for the lightning network.
User experience
Crypto wallets have become increasingly complex in recent years, especially as many of them add Web3 and DeFi capabilities. This sometimes results in cluttered interfaces full of features that end up ignored or sidelined. Ultimately, if you can’t figure out your own wallet, there’s no point in using it in the first place.
We favored wallets that were easy to use for casual and dedicated traders alike thanks to intuitive interfaces, 24/7 live support and educational content. For cold wallets, we also considered the dimensions of the device, screen quality and any unique hardware components.

CNN Expert Claims Motive For Flydubai Incident Could Be ‘Benign,’ Like ‘Workplace Violence’

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: Commentary Culture Investigations

On Wednesday, tragedy was averted after the co-pilot of a Flydubai flight from Saudi Arabia to Tel Aviv, reportedly carrying more than 100 Israelis, stabbed the captain in the cockpit, causing the jet to plunge thousands of feet, before a passenger and crew member subdued the attacker allowing another crew member to take control of the plane. Despite strong appearances to the contrary, CNN found a guest who wouldn’t rule out “workplace violence” as the cause of the incident. On the 1pm edition of CNN’s News Central, co-host Boris Sanchez did start the show by calling the incident, “A suspected mid-flight hijacking attempt.” He then threw it to Jeremy Diamond at Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, who played some chilling video of what took place on the plane.

DIAMOND: On the ground, you can see both pilots bloodied. One of them appears to have been restrained. Both of them are on the ground, clearly in need of medical attention. And what you hear from the men in that video, some of the Israeli passengers, is talking about one of the pilots having attacked the other one and the fact that they then rushed into the cockpit and were able to get that plane back up and to avoid it from crashing into the ground. After playing still more video of the chaos on board, Diamond made sure to point out that it was too early to draw any conclusions about why this apparent terrorist did what he did.DIAMOND: What’s also still unknown, not only to the passengers on board, but to Israeli authorities, is what exactly were the motivations, the motives of this pilot who stabbed the captain of the plane and apparently tried to crash it into the ground. We know that Israeli officials suspect potential terrorist motivations, but none of that has been confirmed as of yet.Next, co-host Brianna Keilar innocently revealed even more evidence that this was a nefarious plot as she introduced CNN Transportation Analyst Mary Schiavo.

KEILAR: Mary, according to Prime Minister Netanyahu, passengers believe the co-pilot tried to sabotage the aircraft systems and crash the plane after stabbing his colleague. What evidence would investors find of that in this case then?Schiavo cited the passengers who entered the cockpit, radar sources and flight data recorders, before concluding with, “So, so much evidence already, but this is a hugely important international investigation for security going forward, huge.”Sanchez then turned to Georgetown University’s Donell Harvin, former D.C. Chief of Homeland Security, who actually downplayed the likelihood that this was a hijacking, downplayed the entire issue of motive, before making a shocking statement. SANCHEZ: Donell, what’s your reaction to hearing that, at least according to Israeli officials, this was an attempted hijacking?HARVIN: Yes, well, the there’s another narrative out there that the airline saying it’s still being investigated. Boris, there’s a spectrum of issues. I don’t think that the motive right now is important. It could be something as benign as workplace violence all the way up to a terrorist issue.Workplace violence!? And stabbing a pilot is “benign”?Harvin would then claim the big issue is how the pilot got on board with a knife, to which Schiavo responded, “So while I — I immediately thought a knife, how did he get a knife through security, well, flight crew have the special lanes and they don’t get as much security, but there’s also weapons within the cockpit, like the flight axe and other things.”Meanwhile, at the same time, over on Fox News’s America Reports, co-host John Roberts went further in his open then Sanchez did, calling it, “An attempted hijacking, what’s being described as a jihadist terror attack.” Where did he get “described as a jihadist attack” from? As Fox’s Foreign Correspondent Jeff Paul would soon report from Tel Aviv, “Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz is calling the incident an attempted jihadist terror attack.” That was never mentioned by CNN’s Diamond in his report from Tel Aviv.Roberts then brought on former Counterterrorism Coordinator in the first Trump administration, Jeff Paul, who far from raising “workplace violence” said, “The thought that kept going through my mind, this is what happened on 9/11. This is like the Flight 93 scenario but an alternative universe where the passengers come a heroic passengers are able to gain access to the cockpit, take over the flight and prevent the terrorists from maintaining control.”You can watch part the Fox segment in the video below.

The difference in content and analysis between the two networks was significant, with Fox unafraid to go where CNN mostly avoided. They have an aversion to jumping to a radical-Islam narrative. This is CNN!

De Niro Joins Kimmel To Recall Favorite Anti-Trump Insults

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: Commentary Culture Investigations

Actor Robert De Niro joined ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday in the character of FCC Chairman Brendan Carr in what was supposed to be a satirical look at the relationship between the FCC and Kimmel but was actually just an opportunity for the duo to recall some of their favorite anti-Trump insults. At one point in his monologue, De Niro “surprised” Kimmel by coming out on stage and portraying Carr as the head of some Mafia speech police. However, it quickly became clear the point was just to rehash some of Kimmel’s more famous insults as De Niro recalled, “Let’s see. It says we have 192 instances of you poking fun at the president’s appearance. Did you say the president looks like a Macy’s parade balloon filled with cottage cheese?” Robert De Niro appeared with Jimmy Kimmel last night in the role of FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, which was really just an opportunity to retell some of Kimmel’s favorite insults, “Let’s see. It says we have 192 instances of you poking fun at the president’s appearance. Did you say… pic.twitter.com/vYzejbebjz— Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) October 1, 2026 Fake Carr also wondered, “Did you say the scarf the president was wearing brought out the color in his neck vagina?” and “Do you recall referring to the commander-in-chief as Mar-a-Lardo, Benito Gasolini, Captain Cankle-roo?”Kimmel then inquired, “Cankle-roo, yeah. What is the point of this? I don’t—”De Niro then pushed Kimmel’s face to the side as he declared, “Did I tell you it was your turn to talk, numb nuts? You speak when I tell you to speak and otherwise you shut the [bleep] up.”Suddenly against swearing, Kimmel retorted, “Hold on a second. You cannot use language like that on television. There are rules, you know.”Keeping with the mob boss act, De Niro replied by gesturing at sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez, “I run the FCC. Who’s going to stop me? Who? Him? Don’t get involved. Now, let’s see. What else do we have here?”Getting back to the Trump insults, De Niro recalled, “Did you say that President Trump has touched more women than the music of Adele?”Kimmel insisted, “Come on. Now, you—you have to admit that’s pretty funny, right?”De Niro then smacked Kimmel again before threatening, “You’re doing it again. Am I going to have to tie your [bleep] to a bag of doorknobs and kick you down the [bleep] stairs? This year you’ve also made over 3,000 jokes about the president’s beautiful son, Eric. Do you have any idea of what that kid’s been through? Do you know how hard it is to go through life looking like Beavis [bleep] Butthead?”The skit’s whole premise was flawed from the start, as Kimmel earlier referred to his 2025 suspension as “that unexpected FCC vacation week.” In reality it was ABC that suspended him because they were worried he was going to make the situation worse after Kimmel had gotten himself in trouble over his remarks about the political identity of Charlie Kirk’s assassin. Here is a transcript for the September 30 show:ABC Jimmy Kimmel Live9/30/202611:45 PM ETROBERT DE NIRO/BRENDAN CARR: Let’s see. Dem Senate nominee apologizes to Jewish voters after ‘genocide’ remark sparked backlash

The Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Maine, Troy Jackson, apologized for remarks in which he said he believed Jewish residents of Maine were rejecting the term “genocide” to describe Israel’s war in Gaza because of the Jewish persecution during the Holocaust. In comments to Jewish Insider, Jackson said he had misspoken, stating that he apologized “for the pain that caused.””I believe what’s happening in Gaza is genocide, and I also understand that word carries particular weight for many Jewish families given the Holocaust — the genocide of six million Jews. In trying to acknowledge that, I misspoke and made a generalization about Jewish Mainers’ views that doesn’t reflect what I mean to say,” Jackson said in a statement.AFTER DEMOCRATS’ SHAKE-UP, COLLINS FACES TOSS-UP AGAINST PLATNER REPLACEMENT IN MUST-WIN SENATE RACEJackson’s remarks sparked immediate backlash Tuesday on social media.”This statement cannot be real. It must be a dark dark dark parody,” Dan Senor, the co-author of “The Genius of Israel,” wrote on X.”Completely out of the closet,” Fox News host Mark Levin wrote on X.”Dude could get a matching tattoo,” Fox News political analyst Guy Benson wrote on X, referring to Graham Platner’s Nazi tattoo.”Jackson should not be within 10’points of [Sen. Susan Collins] when the totals post, just as Collins blew out the polls six years ago. Jackson is dull and ill-informed —cliche volcano, mostly spewing out of DSA-rewrites,” Fox News contributor and conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt wrote on X.”Well, that’s a sh—y thing to say,” former GOP congressman and anti-Trump personality Joe Walsh wrote on X.”Bro what,” GOP consultant Matt Whitlock wrote on X.Jackson’s apology attempts to salvage political damage from his broad remarks about the Jewish community as he wages a nationally watched Senate race in a bid to unseat incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, which is a highly competitive race. It also underscores the challenge Democrats face as they look to condemn what they see as humanitarian concerns in Israel’s war in Gaza while, at the same time, expressing sensitivity to the antisemitism Jewish communities still face elsewhere in the world.Jackson, a former gubernatorial candidate who received the backing of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) earlier this year, became the party nominee to replace former candidate Graham Platner. Platner abandoned his Senate campaign after news of past aggressive behavior to women and an allegation of sexual assault sparked concerns among top party leaders. For his own part, Platner denied any wrongdoing. But since securing the nomination at a Maine Democratic convention in late July, Jackson has sought to continue many of Platners’ progressive policy items, such as passing Medicare for all, increasing taxes on the country’s top earners and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).He has also continued Platner’s position on Israel.MEET THE FAR-LEFT INSURGENTS WAGING WAR ON THE DEMOCRATIC ESTABLISHMENT IN 2026 MIDTERMSLike many other progressives that align with the DSA, Jackson has listed ending U.S. aid to Israel among those other top priorities and, in his interview earlier this week, reiterated that stance in an interview on Tuesday with local media before making his comment about the Jewish community in Maine. He was asked what he sees as the greatest foreign policy challenge facing the United States.Jackson began answering by reiterating his cautious posture towards the U.S. – Israel relationship and his hesitancy to write a “blank check” in support of Bejamine Netanyahu’s government — someone Jackson maintains is a war criminal. He also remarked that, despite what he saw as clear evidence, some voters wouldn’t frame the conflict in those terms.”It’s unfortunate that there are people here in Maine that don’t like to use that term only because they’re Jewish and what that means to them with the Holocaust. It fits that description. It is. It’s an unbelievable thing that’s happened there that people that are innocent are being murdered and it is a genocide,” Jackson said.SUSAN COLLINS DEFIES BLUE-STATE HEADWINDS IN CRUCIAL SENATE BATTLE AS NEW POLL REVEALS STRIKING SPLITJackson’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital on questions about whether he had faced pressure from other Democrats to issue an apology.Having secured the nomination, Jackson will face off against Collins in the Nov. 3 general election.

Supreme Court to hear challenge to Trump’s mass detention policy

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a blockbuster challenge to ICE’s mandatory detention policy after the Trump administration asked the justices to review the case this week. The outcome of this case will determine whether criminal noncitizens held in detention while awaiting deportation are entitled to bond hearings after lengthy periods behind bars, a policy lower courts have repeatedly blocked. The decision from the High Court comes after Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul attempted in August to thwart the Trump administration’s efforts to have the case heard by pardoning a criminal alien who had been held in a detention center for nearly three years, effectively rendering the case moot. While Solicitor General John Sauer agreed in September that the case was effectively dead, he vowed to find a new case to settle whether criminal noncitizens are entitled to bond hearings under the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment. This story is developing and will be updated.

Brianna Coppage may have lost her teaching career, but she certainly didn’t take a pay cut.The “Double Lives of Suburban Wives” star told Fox News Digital that her adult-content business has transformed her family’s finances, revealing that her most successful month brought in a staggering $550,000.”Oh, my best month was 550,000,” Brianna told Fox News Digital.‘DOUBLE LIVES’ STAR REVEALS STAGGERING $550K MONTH AFTER LEAVING TEACHING CAREERThe figure marks a dramatic departure from her former life as an English teacher at St. Clair High School in Franklin County, Missouri. In 2023, Coppage was placed on administrative leave after her adult-content work was discovered. She later resigned from her position.Asked whether she now makes more in a single month than she previously earned in an entire year as a teacher, Brianna didn’t hesitate.”Yes,” she said.’DOUBLE LIVES’ STAR SAYS BEING KICKED OUT OF CHURCH OVER ADULT CONTENT CAREER DIDN’T SHAKE HER FAITHAnd despite the controversy that followed the end of her teaching career, Brianna said she wouldn’t go back even if given the opportunity.”Never. Never,” she told Fox News Digital when asked whether she would accept her teaching job back tomorrow.”Yeah, just the lifestyle and the time and being able to just be in control of myself and in my business,” she continued. “It’s changed my family’s life and just everything for the better.”Brianna is one of the women featured on TLC’s “Double Lives of Suburban Wives,” which follows six couples in the St. Louis area navigating marriage, parenthood and suburban life while maintaining careers creating adult content.According to TLC, what began as a financial pivot for Brianna and her husband, Phillip, quickly became a lucrative business. But that success came with consequences when Brianna’s online career was publicly exposed and she lost her teaching job.LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? I don’t know,” she continued. “I think it’s on a basis of morality.”Brianna also pushed back on what she described as a misconception surrounding her former employment.”There was no like morality clause, which is a lot of… there’s a misconception about that, that I signed something or a clause, a morality clause,” she said. “There wasn’t one. So I don’t know.”While losing her teaching career forced Brianna onto a different professional path, she said the financial impact of her new work has been life-changing.”My family was able to pay off all of our debts. I paid off my student loans,” she told Fox News Digital. “So I stopped putting groceries on credit cards.””Like yeah, it just is so freeing, and I don’t know, it’s been life-changing.”That financial freedom is one of the central tensions explored on “Double Lives of Suburban Wives,” where the women weigh the benefits of their unconventional careers against the judgment and loss of privacy that can accompany them. For Brianna, the cost has been significant.GET ENTERTAINMENT SCOOP DELIVERED RIGHT TO YOUR EMAIL BY CLICKING HERE”I think the greatest thing it has cost me is the privacy, the lack of privacy,” she told Fox News Digital.Being thrust into the public eye has sometimes left her feeling as though people forget there’s a person behind the headlines.”And being in the public eye, it’s like, I’m not a human anymore,” Brianna said. “I’m not normal just like everybody else when truly I am. Like we are human beings too.”But when weighing that loss against what her new career has made possible for her family, Brianna said the benefits extend far beyond her income.”I think the greatest thing it has afforded is just memories and time with my family that I wouldn’t trade for the world,” she said.‘DOUBLE LIVES’ STAR OPENS UP ABOUT MARRIAGE ‘BETRAYAL’ AFTER ADULT-CONTENT CAREER CHANGES HER LIFEBrianna said her own upbringing has shaped how she views the opportunities she can now provide for her children.”Like growing up, I grew up fairly poor. And I mean family vacations and letting my kids experience things that I never would have is really priceless.”But despite the financial success and freedom Brianna says the career has given her family, she stopped short of saying she would encourage her daughter to follow the same path.Asked how she would respond if her daughter came to her as an adult and said she wanted to pursue the same kind of work, Brianna said her first priority would be making sure she understood what she was getting into.DREA DE MATTEO SAYS ONLYFANS BECAME ‘POLITICAL STATEMENT’ AFTER FINANCIAL STRUGGLES THREATENED HER HOME”I want to raise, you know, my daughter to be open-minded. Don’t judge other people. It’s okay if people are different,” Brianna told Fox News Digital.”So if she came to me, first, I would want her to have all the correct information. Is she safe? … It’s not something that I’m going to encourage,” Brianna said.Still, she said she would offer her daughter the same acceptance she wants from others.”But also just as I want people to love me and respect me and not judge me, I would give her that same …  that same love and respect.”Her success hasn’t eliminated the complications that come with mixing marriage and business.Brianna and Phillip’s relationship became another major storyline on “Double Lives of Suburban Wives,” with viewers watching the couple confront trust and boundary issues while simultaneously juggling life as parents and business partners.PUT YOUR ENTERTAINMENT KNOWLEDGE TO THE TEST AND SEE HOW YOU SCOREBrianna told Fox News Digital that the demands of those overlapping roles require constant communication.”I think that with everything we’re juggling, being parents, spouses, business partners, lifestyle, content creators, there is a lot to communicate about and a lot of boundaries to establish, and no relationship is perfect,” she said. She added that she was glad viewers were seeing some of those difficulties rather than an artificially polished version of their marriage.”I like that this is on the show honestly, because it does show that no marriage is perfect and people go through struggles,” Brianna said. “But I think at the end of the day, it matters how you work through that.”When asked whether she considered Phillip’s actions cheating, Brianna drew a distinction.‘DOUBLE LIVES OF SUBURBAN WIVES’ STAR WENT FROM FOOD STAMPS TO MAKING $100K A MONTH”It wasn’t a physical act, so no,” she said. “But yeah, definitely a breach of trust and a betrayal.”The couple turned to therapy as they worked through their problems.”There’s been a lot of learning and taking accountability,” Brianna told Fox News Digital. “Without that, I don’t know where we would stand.””Being in therapy and working on communication boundaries and taking ownership of our mistakes has really helped,” she continued.
