‘the Girls’ podcast debuts as co-hosts take on Lindsay Clancy case, Ms Rachel’s political activism

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

The debut episode of FOX News Podcasts’ “the Girls” delivered an unfiltered conversation where no subject was off-limits, as the hosts discussed the Lindsay Clancy trial, Ms. Rachel’s political activism, the realities of grief and more. Each episode features a rotating cast of women with distinctive voices and experiences spanning news, politics, sports, comedy and culture. Thursday’s premiere brought together Fox News’ Harris Faulkner, Rachel Campos-Duffy and Kat Timpf, former secretary to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Melissa DeRosa and former ESPN host Samantha Ponder. The conversation got intense as Ponder weighed in on Clancy, the Massachusetts woman charged with murdering her three young children, whose trial ended in a mistrial last month.FOX NEWS MEDIA EXPANDS PODCAST PORTFOLIO WITH NEW ORIGINAL SHOW ‘THE GIRLS’”If I’m a mom and this has been done to my kids, I want this woman put away forever,” Ponder says in a preview clip.”You can say things were hard, [but] you still gotta be in prison.”The group also debated whether children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel is a bad influence because of her political activism, with Timpf defending her and Faulkner questioning how much parents should know about the political views of children’s entertainers.”Is Ms. Rachel bad for kids? I don’t think it’s that deep,” Timpf said.  “She just sings songs… I still listen to Michael Jackson. Where do you draw the line? I grew up listening to Nirvana. I love Kurt Cobain. I wore flannel. I’ve yet to shoot up heroin,” she added.Faulkner said that parents should consider the political views children may absorb from online personalities.”When she says she wants to do away with ICE, when she says that she’s more for letting those people come across our border illegally, when she says those things — why do I know that about her?” Faulkner said.MOMS FOR LIBERTY CO-FOUNDER WARNS PARENTS ABOUT MS RACHEL’S POLITICAL ACTIVISM, ‘NOT MR ROGERS’The premiere also took a more personal turn when Timpf opened up about losing her father shortly before becoming pregnant with her second child.”Not to make it weird, but I think about death pretty much all the time because my dad died,” Timpf said.Timpf said she had spoken to her father the morning he died and later learned from a doctor she had never met that he had suffered an aortic dissection after initially going to the hospital with a stomach ache. Her father had been intensely focused on his health, which made his sudden death especially difficult for her to process.”He was very fit. He would not drink out of a plastic water bottle,” Timpf said. “When he died, he was going up north for a day of sailing.”SAM PONDER CALLS OUT THE WNBA FOR COWARDICE: ‘BE COURAGEOUS. STAND FOR WOMEN’Timpf said the loss left her questioning whether people have any real control over their health or fate. She noted that her mother also died before turning 60 and that she battled cancer during her first pregnancy.”I almost learned the wrong lesson of like, ‘What can you do?’” she said. “Do I want to live forever? I’m scared so much to die.”The conversations capture the podcast’s freewheeling nature, covering an array of topics across news, politics, sports, comedy and culture.”the Girls'” is available on Fox News Digital, Apple, Spotify, YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts.Fox News’ Brian Flood contributed to this report.

Will WNBA Allow 4 Time MVP to Play Tonight Despite Committing Act that Mandates She Sit Out of Game?

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

Will the WNBA Allow 4 Time MVP to play tonight despite committing an act that Mandates She Sit Out of the game?
On Tuesday night, the WNBA’s 4-time MVP fouled Sophie Cunningham from the Indiana Fever by running her over, but Cunningham was called for the foul.  Then A’ja Wilson ran into the stands and began verbally assaulting a man in the stands.
Here is one depiction of what happened.

Aja Wilson acts unprofessional and embarrassed herself attacking a Fever fan for pointing to take attention away from the beating Caitlin and the Fever gave the Aces. All this for nothing as the fan was let back in to continue watching the game which showed he did nothing. Aja… pic.twitter.com/FNpbwaWnmQ
— Bkeny47 (@Robertfantauzzi) September 30, 2026
During Wilson’s attack on the finger-pointing fan, her teammate Chelsea Gray lost her mind. Grey is the player who started in front of Caitlin Clark at this year’s FIBA World Cup and who cannot run – she is as slow as dirt.

Las Vegas Aces’ Chelsea Gray was yelling, screaming, & needed to be forcefully dragged back to the bench all because a Fever fan simply pointed at A’ja Wilson…
These chicks are insane.
I hope the Fever torch them in Game 3. pic.twitter.com/ZQIb9swxzm

There were 5 people pointing at Wilson after she ran over Cunningham and was given foul shots instead of a foul.

Many fans began reporting on the event and noted that Wilson should have been kicked out of the game and not allowed to play tonight.  This is per WNBA rules.  Jason Whitlock even pointed this out.

WNBA rules say suspend A’ja Wilson.

Here are the WNBA rules:

Will A’ja Wilson be allowed to play tonight, or will she receive more privileges from the WNBA?

Chip stocks set for $229 billion payday before Nvidia ships a GPU

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: SUCCESS, The Street

Ask most investors who makes AI chips, and they will name Nvidia (NVDA), which designs them but does not build them. Ask who makes the machines that build them, and the room usually goes quiet.

That blind spot matters now. In my last piece, I covered Wells Fargo’s view that a possible 2nm expansion at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM) could lift chip equipment makers.

The four names investors tend to lump together are ASML Holding (ASML), Applied Materials (AMAT), Lam Research (LRCX), and KLA (KLAC). Each leads a different step in turning a blank wafer into a working chip, which shapes its business.

Global chip equipment sales are forecast to hit a record $229.5 billion in 2028, according to SEMI, the industry’s trade group. Most of it goes to wafer fab machines like the ones these four sell. It all starts with light.

ASML prints the pattern every advanced chip starts with

ASML makes lithography machines, which project circuit patterns onto silicon wafers. CNBC said it is the only company that makes extreme ultraviolet, or EUV, machines used for the most advanced chips. Think of it as the printer that decides how small circuits can get.

That monopoly earns ASML a big slice of every fab budget. About a quarter of chipmaker capital spending goes to lithography, analysts estimate, largely to ASML, Reuters reported in January.

ASML shares hit a record $1,999.96 within the past year and traded as low as $935.41, according to Stock Analysis. The site’s data put the stock about 9% below that peak, the smallest gap of the four, at roughly 33 times forward earnings.

The 42 analysts tracked ASML a Strong Buy, with an average target of $2,115.91. ASML draws the blueprint, but someone still has to build it.

Applied Materials and Lam build and carve the layers

A chip is built up layer by layer. Applied Materials and Lam sell the machines that deposit very thin films, then carve away whatever is not needed.

That job gets bigger at 2nm. Lam CFO Doug Bettinger told a Citi conference on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, that the transistor design used at 2nm needs more etch and deposition. Every 100,000 wafer starts of that capacity adds about $1 billion to the market Lam can sell into, according to a transcript.

The two are still not twins. Applied Materials sells a wider range of tools and brought in about $6.6 billion in the past year from its services arm, Stock Analysis data show. That cushions it when orders slow.

Lam, meanwhile, just posted its highest gross margin in 20 years, Bettinger said. Lam’s market value now edges out Applied’s, even though Applied brings in about a third more revenue, according to Stock Analysis.

Applied Materials shares have ranged from $202.87 to a record $739.67 over the past year, Stock Analysis noted. The data put it at about 29 times forward earnings, the cheapest of the four. The 40 analysts tracked there rate it a Strong Buy, with a $638.94 average target.

Lam shares have ranged from $130.81 to a record $438.50 over the past year, Stock Analysis confirmed. They trade at about 34 times forward earnings, and the 35 analysts tracked there rate them a Strong Buy. The $373.77 average target implies about 14% upside, the thinnest of the four.

All that building creates one more job: checking the work.

KLA gets paid to find the mistakes

KLA does not build the chip. It inspects and measures wafers to catch defects. CFO Bren Higgins told a Goldman Sachs conference on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, that yield “translates into printing money,” according to a transcript.

Yield is the share of chips on a wafer that actually work. KLA executive Ahmad Khan put it simply at the same event: on a wafer holding two large chips, one killer defect cuts yield to 50%. Bigger AI chips mean more inspection.

TSMC’s rivals are losing ground, and the gap is growing

KLA shares have ranged from $98.10 to a record $307.37 over the past year, per Stock Analysis. They now sit about 37% below that peak, the widest gap of the four.

Yet the same data put KLA at about 36 times forward earnings, the priciest of the group. The 29 analysts tracked there rate it only a Buy, the lone holdout from Strong Buy, with a $233.77 average target. To me, that split verdict suggests the market hasn’t decided what inspection is worth in an AI buildout.

4 toolmakers, four different ways to bet on AI

ASML is a bet on how small chips get. Applied and Lam ride how many layers get built. KLA rides how hard they are to get right.

ASML reports on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, and TSMC follows a day later, Stock Analysis noted. Lam and KLA are expected later in October, with Applied on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026.

Those reports will show which slice of the bill is growing fastest and who really gets paid first.

Cathie Wood buys $81.5 million of surging semiconductor stock

October 1, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: SUCCESS, The Street

Cathie Wood, chief of Ark Investment Management, is known for making big bets on disruptive technology stocks. Sometimes, she’ll even buy when these stocks are rising, and that’s what she did this week.

Wood just made a massive move in Nvidia (NVDA), buying about $81.5 million of the semiconductor stock as the AI chip giant continues to gain momentum.

Last year, the flagship Ark Innovation ETF gained 35.49%, far outpacing the S&P 500’s return of 17.88% in the same period. So far this year, Wood’s flagship Ark Innovation ETF (ARKK) is up 15.83% as of writing, while the S&P 500 surged 11.77%, Yahoo Finance data shows.

Wood gained a reputation after the Ark Innovation ETF delivered a rosy 153% return in 2020. But her style also brings painful losses in bearish markets, as seen in 2022, when the ETF tumbled more than 60%.

Those swings have weighed on Wood’s long-term gains. As of Sept. 30, her Ark Innovation ETF has delivered a five-year annualized return of -4.06%, while the S&P 500 has an annualized return of 12.18% over the same period, according to data from Morningstar.

Over the past month through Sept. 29, the Ark Innovation ETF saw roughly $1.68 billion in net inflows.Bloomberg / Getty Images

Cathie Wood remains optimistic about AI and tech revolution

Wood focuses on high-tech companies across artificial intelligence, blockchain, biomedical technology, and robotics. She believes these businesses have strong growth potential, but their volatility often causes fluctuations in the Ark’s funds.

Over the decade ended 2025, the Ark Innovation ETF wiped out nearly $5 billion in investor wealth, according to a report by Morningstar’s analyst Amy Arnott. That made it the fourth-biggest wealth destroyer among mutual funds and ETFs in the ranking.

Wood recently attributed rising interest rates partly to stronger economic growth, rather than higher inflation.

“Interest rates seem to be rising because of real yields more than inflation,” Wood said in an X post on Sept. 29. “Real growth is surprising on the high side of expectations in this technology revolution.”

Wood has long been optimistic about AI, which she sees as a major driver of productivity, economic growth, and corporate profits in the years ahead. She has also pushed back against recent fears that AI could pose an existential threat to humanity.

On Sept. 12, Wood reposted a post by David Sacks on X, saying he makes a good case that the “AI will kill humanity” headlines were orchestrated.

At the same time, Wood acknowledged that AI, like other technologies, can be used for harmful purposes. She said people such as Elon Musk who highlight AI’s potential risks are “doing us a great service,” adding that “half of the solution—including AI—is understanding the problem.”

In August, Wood said U.S. corporate profits remain unusually strong, with domestic profits before tax at 13.2% of GDP, a level she said is near multi-decade highs.

Some of that strength came from the massive monetary and fiscal stimulus during the pandemic, but Wood believes another factor is helping sustain margins today: companies are leaning into AI and productivity gains to protect them.

“I think we’re still early in seeing how far that can go,” she said, adding that companies that use AI effectively will “separate themselves from the ones that don’t.”

Some investors agree with Wood’s optimism. Over the past month through Sept. 29, the Ark Innovation ETF saw roughly $1.68 billion in net inflows, according to data from ETF research firm VettaFi.

Cathie Wood buys $81.5 million of Nvidia stock

On Sept. 29, Wood’s Ark funds bought a total of 356,681 shares of Nvidia (NVDA), according to Ark’s daily trading information sent to TheStreet.

These shares were worth about $81.5 million based on the latest price of $228.38, making it one of Wood’s largest recent buys.

Nvidia remains at the center of the AI boom, with its chips powering AI data centers and used by major cloud providers including Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), Google (GOOGL) and Meta (META).

On Sept. 28, a day before Wood’s massive purchase, Nvidia announced a historic $150 billion increase to its share repurchase program. This raises the company’s total remaining buyback authorization to $235 billion, planned for execution through fiscal year 2028. Nvidia stock rose 1.7% that day.

“Our cash generation gives us the capacity to invest in the technologies that advance this transformation and return capital to shareholders. This authorization reflects our confidence in the long-term opportunity ahead,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in a statement.

In August, Nvidia reported better-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results and issued revenue guidance above Wall Street estimates. The stock has surged nearly 9% since its Aug. 26 reporting.

Nvidia reported adjusted earnings of $2.22 per share, topping the $2.10 estimate. Its revenue reached $96.22 billion, above expectations of $92.17 billion.

CFO Colette Kress said Nvidia expects fiscal 2028 revenue growth of about 70%, well above analysts’ 44% estimate. The company’s target is already being limited by supply constraints.

“Customers’ forecasts point to our growth doubling next year. However, as I mentioned earlier, we expect to grow approximately 70% as we are supply-constrained,” she said during the earnings call.

Investors have cooled a bit after Nvidia’s historic three-year rally. The stock is up about 22.5% year to date, outperforming the S&P 500 but trailing chipmaking peer AMD, which has surged 185.7%, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, which has rallied 78.3% over the same period.

Nvidia has an average price target of $324.32 among 31 analysts, implying 42% upside from $228.38, according to TipRanks.

Nvidia is not a top-10 holding in the Ark Innovation ETF.

Top 10 Holdings in the Ark Innovation ETF by market value and weight as of Sept. 30, 2026:
