New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Democrat, threatened to sue the Trump administration over Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) reported use of city-owned parking lots to stage immigration enforcement operations without the city’s authorization. In a letter addressed to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, acting ICE Director David Venturella and ICE New York field office Director Kenneth Genalo, Mamdani said he is “deeply troubled” by reports of ICE agents “using property owned by the City of New York to stage enforcement operations,” which the mayor said is unauthorized and illegal.”This use of City property in furtherance of federal immigration enforcement is unauthorized and is therefore illegal, endangers City residents, and sows fear among those who seek to access City property,” Mamdani wrote in the letter. “If your agents continue any unauthorized use of these lots, New York City will take legal action to prevent this unlawful commandeering of City property.”DEMOCRAT MAYOR BLASTED BY DHS FOR ‘HUNTING DOWN’ PROPERTY OWNERS LEASING TO ICE: ‘UNHINGED’According to the mayor’s letter, ICE agents have reportedly parked their vehicles and conducted meetings in several city-owned, unstaffed parking lots, including in a parking lot at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx as well as in parking lots along 111th Street on the west side of Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, which is located next to a city-run preschool and several cultural institutions welcome hundreds of children and families every day.”ICE has not secured any authorization from the City to use these lots for immigration enforcement. To be clear: the City does not authorize ICE using its property in this manner,” Mamdani wrote.”Parking lots connected to City parks are reserved for the safe use and enjoyment of New Yorkers and visitors who wish to use our parks,” he continued. “Use of these lots for other purposes, including ICE’s reported use of these lots, amounts to unauthorized activity on City property. Accordingly, you must immediately issue guidance to your agents prohibiting them from using any City lots to stage or conduct enforcement operations.”Mamdani added that New York City “deeply values its immigrant communities and will continue to use all available lawful means to ensure their safety, well-being, and ability to navigate the City and its resources without fear.”MAMDANI CALLS ICE A ‘ROGUE’ AGENCY AFTER NYC SHOOTING, CLAIMS AGENTS VIEW LAW AS ‘MERELY A SUGGESTION’Fox News Digital has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for comment.Last month, Mamdani and other New York Democratic leaders pushed for the city’s private parking lot owners to ban ICE from their properties.”In solidarity with immigrant New Yorkers and in our shared commitment to the City we love, we ask that you do not rent, lend or otherwise make your property available to ICE as a staging area for its enforcement operations,” the mayor wrote in a letter to property owners and operators.MAMDANI SAYS EVEN IF HE CAN GET ALONG WITH TRUMP, HE STILL DEMANDS THAT ‘ICE SHOULD BE ABOLISHED’Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., were among more than 100 elected officials who signed on to Mamdani’s October letter.Mamdani has previously pushed for ICE to be abolished, including after an ICE agent shot and killed Mexican national Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston in July and after another ICE agent shot and wounded Dominican national Oscar Belgal during an enforcement operation in New York City last month.

Jewelry isn’t an area you want to skimp on. When you opt for affordability over quality, you’re left with jewelry that irritates skin, tarnishes, and turns your lobes green, and overtime, deteriorates in appearance to the point where you can’t even wear that great necklace or pair of earrings that you got on sale. Why do shoppers love it?
Measuring approximately 1-inch in diameter, these earrings are on the smaller side, but that doesn’t mean they don’t add a major sparkle factor to your everyday outfits. The earrings are made with sterling silver, which provides great durability and makes them optimal for everyday wear. Not only is sterling silver stronger than pure silver, but it’s nickel-free, making it a great hypoallergenic option for those with skin sensitivities.
The silver, in combination with the crystal gems that run along the hoop’s entire band, create a lovely silver sheen that looks remarkable when exposed to natural daylight. The hoop’s bands each have two lines of small, round crystal gemstones. These stones give the look of real or lab-grown diamonds but at a more affordable price point, and they also have more ethical sourcing methods.
The earrings have a click top closure, also called a clicker, snap closure or hinge closure. This design creates a locking mechanism between the post and the hinged back, which clicks into place for a secure fit.

WATCH: California Jail Goes on Three-Hour Lockdown Rather Than Hand Criminal Illegal Aliens to ICE, Monterey County Supervisor Tells Agent They Will Not Release Anyone When ICE is Present
The Monterey County Jail in Salinas was visited by ICE agents on Tuesday for a targeted operation seeking three individuals with prior arrests for DUI, drug offenses, and providing false identification.
Instead of working with them to facilitate transfers, the jail was placed on lockdown for roughly three hours, suspending new bookings and inmate releases while a crowd of protesters and observers gathered outside.
ICE left without taking anyone into custody during the standoff, and the sheriff’s office has indicated that they would do it again.
The three criminal illegal aliens in question were Eduardo Castro-Lopez (also known as Jordan Eduardo Yac), Jose Luis Quinones (also known as Jose Manuel Garcia), and Angelina Ramirez-Sepulveda.
An ICE spokesperson told Border Hawk that “what should have been a simple, routine operation quickly went sideways.”
NEW: A California Jail Went Into Temporary Lockdown Instead of Releasing Inmates to ICE Agents
October 27: Six @ICEgov agents arrived at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas, CA requesting custody transfer of three suspected criminal illegal aliens. Rather than release the people in custody, the jail chose to enter a 3 hour lockdown and refused to release the illegal aliens into federal custody.
A crowd of protesters quickly formed, and County of Monterey District 1, Supervisor Luis Alejo, was also on scene and took video of the crowd.
The agents were there to recover Eduardo Castro-Lopez, also known as Jordan Eduardo Yac; Jose Luis Quinones, also known as Jose Manuel Garcia; and Angelina Ramirez-Sepulveda.
The suspects have prior arrests for multiple offenses including DUI, drug offenses and providing false identification.
“None of the suspects were turned over to ICE during the lockdown,” said ICE Assistant Director of Public Affairs @MicahBock to @BorderHawkNews.
“A local county supervisor told the ICE officers that the sheriff would not release the inmates to them. It’s borderline obscene that a facility that’s there to protect the public would go on lockdown to protect criminal illegal aliens from the consequences of violating federal immigration law.”
Footage by KSBW Action News 8 shows an ICE agent talking to Monterey County District 4 Supervisor Wendy Root Askew who stated clearly the 3 men would NOT be released from the jail due to the presence of immigration agents.
By the next day, the online custody log showed that Castro-Lopez had been released from custody and Quinones was no longer shown as being in custody. Ramirez-Sepulveda remained in custody.
“Two of the individuals ICE sought were reportedly released from custody. This is where we are: Criminals are being protected in sanctuary cities and states, and a law enforcement facility is siding with CRIMINALS instead of cooperating with federal law enforcement,” said ICE on social media.

While agents waited in an area marked with yellow caution tape, protesters arrived. Monterey County Supervisor Luis Alejo was on scene and filmed the protest.
Roughly 50 people, including legal observers, lawyers, and politicians, were present.
Supervisor Wendy Root Askew was recorded in a tense exchange with an ICE agent, telling him she had spoken with the sheriff and that “they will not be releasing anyone who is at risk today.”
“OK, so to be clear: Because we are here, the folks that are in there that would otherwise be legally allowed out there, Fourth Amendment rights are being violated by the sheriff to keep them in there? Is that what I’m hearing from you?” the agent asked, according to a report and video from KSBW.
Askew replied, “They will not be released in a location where ICE is present.”
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office announced the lockdown around 5:40 p.m., stating the facility was not accepting new bookings, that all inmate releases were temporarily suspended, and that public visitation was closed except for attorneys.
Officials said they took the measures “out of an abundance of caution to ensure everybody’s safety.”
ICE agents departed around 6:30 p.m. amid the protest. The jail resumed normal operations less than two hours later.
The sheriff’s office later said scheduled releases were not affected overall and that the lockdown was intended to maintain a safe environment.
MONTEREY COUNTY JAIL PLACED FACILITY ON FULL LOCKDOWN, HARBORING CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS FROM FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
On October 27, the Monterey County Jail was placed on temporary lockdown following a targeted ICE operation involving criminal illegal aliens with prior arrests for DUI, drug offenses, and providing false identification.
New bookings and inmate releases were temporarily suspended. Two of the individuals ICE sought were reportedly released from custody.
This is where we are: Criminals are being protected in sanctuary cities and states, and a law enforcement facility is siding with CRIMINALS instead of cooperating with federal law enforcement.
— U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (@ICEgov) October 29, 2026
ICE, however, stated that two of the three individuals it sought were reportedly released from custody and accused the jail of “harboring” them, writing that “criminals are being protected in sanctuary cities and states, and a law enforcement facility is siding with CRIMINALS instead of cooperating with federal law enforcement.”
By the following day, custody records confirmed that Castro-Lopez had been released and Quinones was no longer listed as in custody, while Ramirez-Sepulveda remained.

WATCH: JD Vance at Final Ohio Rally Warns Somali Communities Are Coordinating to ‘Flood the Polls’ and Drown Out American’s Votes
Vice President JD Vance warned voters during his final midterm rally in Ohio on Monday that Somali communities are coordinating to flood the polls and drown out the votes of Americans.
Vance urged people to vote for Vivek Ramaswamy for governor.
Standing alongside Ramaswamy at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport rally, Vance said he had seen a story in the last couple of days about the effort and framed the choice as one about whether American elections will belong to American citizens.
“Now, I saw a story, just in the last couple of days, that there are illegal communities of illegal immigrant Somalis who are coordinating to flood the polls and drown out your vote,” Vance told the crowd.
“Well, I happen to believe that we want American elections to belong to American citizens. Send a message by voting for Vivek for governor!”

Vance WARNED about illegal Somali communities coordinating to flood the polls and drown out citizens’ votes
He said he saw a story claiming these groups are organizing to overwhelm American voters, then called for elections that belong to citizens.
After everything that came out about Somali fraudsters in Minnesota and elsewhere, whether it’s true or not, it isn’t hard to believe at this point.

Vance’s warning arrived shortly after The Gateway Pundit reported on Ohio Democrat State Representative Ismail Mohamed, a Somali-born lawmaker, who has endorsed Ramaswamy’s opponent Amy Acton.
In subtitled clips, Mohamed told Somali audiences that the community’s aim is a united front to lobby for Somalia, referenced a network of Somali elected officials including Rep. Ilhan Omar, and urged support for Acton while describing Vivek’s backers as “the MAGA crowd, Trump’s crowd, the racist crowd.”
