Why we love this deal

A throw blanket is useful in plenty of everyday situations, whether you want an extra layer on the sofa to keep you warm in the evenings, something to keep at the foot of your bed, or a lightweight blanket for changing temperatures. It’s also handy for guests or for anyone who prefers a little extra warmth without using a heavy comforter. A versatile throw like this can be used year-round, making it a practical, efficient, and cozy addition to a bedroom or living room, or to use around the campfire in the fall.

The Bedsure 100% Cotton Waffle Throw Blanket is a perfect option for an all-season blanket that can keep you warm in the winter or just add an extra layer of weight in the summer while watching TV. The super-soft, 100% cotton is breathable and soft, and just $30 right now at Amazon.

Why do shoppers love it?

This throw features a waffle weave that gives it a three-dimensional texture. It’s pre-washed, giving it a soft and comfortable feel, and is designed to get even softer after washing — it can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle. The blanket may shed lint at the beginning, but it will lessen over time with use and washes. The 100% cotton material is breathable and absorbs moisture to help keep the blanket comfortable and warm without overheating. Even though it can be super warm when needed, the blanket is surprisingly lightweight, weighing just two pounds.

The cotton material is made of premium, long-staple cotton that’s made to provide a balance of warmth and weight, making it suitable for everyday use, and the waffle weave gives it a visual texture that adds to your decor. The extra-large size works well as a sofa throw or an accent on the bed, while the larger sizes are better for full bed coverage on a king or queen bed. This blanket is available in a lot of colors, including black, white, gray, and green at the lowest price, or you can pay a bit extra for other colors like purple, Sage green, Sky blue, pink, or beige.

Details to know

Sizes: Choose from XL to king-sized blankets, with the XL being the best deal.

Color: For this great price, you can get white, gray, black, or green.

Material: The 100% cotton material is an eco-friendly option that’s safe for your home and the planet, and gets softer with every wash.

With over 17,300 5-star ratings, this blanket is a great option. One shopper said, “The new, white color and queen size option I purchased is incredibly soft right out of the bag and still keeps me at a good temperature. I really like that I can layer it when I need more warmth but still have the option to shed layers just to it, rather than throwing a hot blanket off then waking up cold, so it’s pretty versatile for different weather conditions.”Another buyer said, “It’s a great blanket. It’s not flimsy, and it seems made so that it’ll last for years and years.”

Samsung’s $2,100 phone tests how much consumers will pay to fold

August 19, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: Uncategorized

There was a time when $1,000 for a phone seemed absurd.

Now Samsung is asking certain customers to pay more than twice that.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at $2,099.99, making it one of the most expensive mainstream smartphones consumers can buy in the U.S., The Guardian reported.

So what is the consumer getting for that price?

They’re getting an 8-inch foldable screen, a 200-megapixel camera system, a top-of-the-line processor, multitasking software, and a device that tries to be both a phone and a tiny tablet. The Fold 8 Ultra is 4.1 millimeters thick when unfolded and weighs 215 grams, Samsung said.

But perhaps the more compelling data point is consumer desire.

Samsung said preorders for its newest foldable lineup were 70% higher than a year earlier, according to remarks from Samsung Co-CEO TM Roh reported by T3.

This means the $2,000 phone category is no longer just a technological curiosity. It may be developing into a real premium market.

Samsung is betting people will pay laptop money for a phone

The psychological gap between a $999 phone and a $2,099 phone is huge.

The Fold 8 Ultra starts at more than $2,100, more than many high-end computers, big-screen televisions, and family vacations.

Consumers must feel that they are replacing more than a typical smartphone.

Samsung’s argument is that the Fold can replace numerous gadgets. You can run numerous apps at once on the built-in 8-inch display, and the bigger format makes video, reading, and productivity feel more like a tablet. The phone also has Samsung and Google’s AI software, including Gemini features.

That’s the human case for foldables.

You can open the tablet to read documents on the train during your ride. A tourist can watch a movie without a tablet. A worker can have maps, messaging, and mail open at the same time.

Whether those amenities are worth $2,100 is a different question.

Related: Apple may finally have a $2,000 reason to enter foldables

Samsung, which is currently expanding the category, clearly believes enough buyers are saying yes.

This week, Samsung is already looking at broader foldable designs for 2027, possibly adding more to the roster, SammyGuru noted.

That comes as Apple is also anticipated to enter the foldables market, potentially making today’s niche one of the most crucial premium battlegrounds in the business.

Foldables are growing while the broader smartphone market struggles

That’s where the stats get really intriguing.

Reuters reported that overall global smartphone shipments are projected to fall 14% in 2026, while foldable shipments are expected to increase 20%, citing IDC.

More Tech:

ServiceNow’s quiet $1B cybersecurity boom

A European rival to SpaceX is chasing a $2B valuation

SK Hynix denies Intel Ohio fab deal, but the market didn’t care

That’s the other direction from the overall market for foldables.

Consumers are holding onto their traditional phones longer as the annual improvements seem more modest.

Foldables have something different to offer.

Samsung has likewise lifted pricing as memory-chip costs climb. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is $1,899, the Fold 8 Ultra is $2,099, and the Flip 8 starts at $1,199. Those prices were often roughly $100 higher than the preceding generation, Reuters reported.

That creates a fascinating test of consumer psychology. Apple users are always complaining about expensive smartphones. Yet the fastest-growing part of the category is one of its most expensive.

The $2,000-phone problem is really a value problem

You don’t need a $2,100 phone to wow everyone.

Not every driver needs a luxury vehicle. Not every wrist needs a high-end watch. Samsung just needs enough affluent users and enthusiasts to believe that the bigger screen, versatility, and status are worth the extra cost.

That’s why the foldable market could be less about tech and more about segmentation.

For years, the smartphone industry has been pushing people to upgrade to more expensive Pro, Ultra, and Max models.

Foldables are simply an additional option.

What consumers are paying for

$2,099.99: Starting price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra

$1,899: Starting price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8

$1,199: Starting price of the Galaxy Z Flip 8

70%: Reported year-over-year increase in Samsung foldable preorders

20%: Expected 2026 growth in foldable shipments

14% decline: Expected contraction in the overall smartphone market

8 inches: Fold 8 Ultra’s main display

It’s no longer a surprise that there’s a $2,000 phone. What is surprising is that there seems to be enough demand for producers to keep expanding the sector.

Samsung is wagering that smartphones may follow the same route as watches, vehicles, and laptops: The general market remains huge, but the big profit opportunity is at the top.

If foldables continue to proliferate and regular smartphone shipments fall, the $2,100 price tag will look less and less ludicrous.

This could be the new definition of premium.

Macy’s is selling $1,000 diamond earrings that come in 3 colors for 70% off

TheStreet aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission. Why we love this deal

Although there are trending styles that we all keep up on from a day to day basis, it’s the smaller elements of an outfit that truly make us stand out as an individual. One person who wears a pair of jeans and a sweater might add a simple pair of boots and a bag to finish off the outfit, while another might accessorize with bracelets, hats, a jacket, and some fun heels. Style is subjective, and small accessories and other pieces of apparel are fun ways to differentiate ourselves. Although taste can differ vastly from person to person, there are certain clothing items and accessories that everyone can agree are simply stunning — like a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings. And now that Macy’s has majorly marked down a truly beautiful pair online, you can get your very own pair to add to your own collection.

Right now, the Macy’s Diamond Stud Earrings are 70% off. For a limited time, you can get the originally priced $1,000 earrings on sale for only $299.

Why do shoppers love it?

This deal definitely seems too good to be true (we wouldn’t believe it if we didn’t see it ourselves) but it’s not! These stud earrings, which feature “circles of stunning sparkle” thanks to the various circular patterns of the diamonds, will be the conversation starter at any event. How could they not be when they are such an eye-catching statement piece? The earrings are made of 14K gold and coated in rhodium plating, which provides extra brightness, shine, and durability so they shimmer even after repeated wear. In total, the earrings have a ⅓ carat weight, which means each stud is about ⅙ of a carat. The diamonds are round, with a clarity rating of 12-13, and a color rating of I (or almost nearly colorless).

A larger diamond is centered in the middle of the earring, with smaller accent diamonds and plating set in a design around it, further enhancing and emphasizing the central diamond. They measure approximately ¼-inch in diameter, which means they aren’t overly large studs that will pull or weigh down your ears. Each earring  fastens with a push back closure that is comfortable and keeps the earrings securely in place.

They’re the perfect piece of jewelry when you want to add a little something to your ensemble, without overwhelming it. And as a bonus, they are super versatile in your wardrobe because, let’s face it, everything pretty much goes with diamonds. The earrings are available in 14K white, yellow, or rose gold, and if they tarnish or get dirty, participating Macy’s will provide free in-store jewelry cleaning. Just be sure to check ahead of time if your local Macy’s is one that offers it.

Details to know

Material: 14K Gold with a rhodium plating.

Colors: White Gold, Yellow Gold, and Rose Gold.

Size: ⅓ ct. t.w. which is equivalent to ⅙ carat for each stud.

Dimensions: Approximately ¼ inch in diameter.

Closure: Push back closure.

Shoppers say that the diamond earrings are even more stunning in person. They are very lightweight, and are perfectly sized to be noticed without being overtly ostentatious. They have a gorgeous sparkle and shine to them, and are very well-made and elegant. “Very eye-catching and appealing,” one shopper said.

Citizen’s luxury $350 Eco-Drive watch is on sale for 50% off at Amazon

August 19, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: Uncategorized

Why we love this deal

Japanese watchmaking is revered worldwide for its attention to detail, superior engineering, and beautiful designs. One of the most well-known exemplars of this reputation is Citizen. The brand has been making gorgeous luxury timepieces for over a century, and it’s certainly not slowing down anytime soon. In fact, one of the most elegant examples of a daily Citizen watch you’ll find anywhere is currently on sale at Amazon.

The Citizen Corso Eco-Drive Watch is currently just $175. That’s an unheard-of 50% off the regular price of $350. This is a rare find, and one that’s sure to delight seasoned watch collectors and timepiece beginners alike.

Why do shoppers love it?

You won’t find a more sophisticated-looking daily wear luxury watch than this one anywhere, especially in this price range. The case and bracelet are made from 316L stainless steel, which is both corrosion-resistant and rustproof. The entire watch has a shiny polished finish, giving it a sophisticated and refined look. That said, it still has plenty of sports-watch swag, so to speak. The attractive blue dial and dynamic sword-shaped hands are fun and interesting without being garish. A moderately-sized 40-millimeter case diameter offers a versatile look and feel for both casual and formal use.

Adding to the look and utility of the dial are silver-toned applied markers and a nicely finished date window at the three o’clock position. A healthy coating of luminescent material covers the broad hands, making the watch immensely legible even in low-light conditions. However, what truly gives this piece its sports watch street cred is the 100 meters of water resistance. That means you can splish-splash in the pool or ocean and your watch will be no worse for the wear. It can easily handle wading and even swimming laps like a pro.

Speaking of pros, nobody puts more care and innovation into watchmaking like the pros at Citizen. The Corso’s inner workings are prime examples of that dedication to quality. The watch is powered by a Citizen Eco-Drive movement, which is a revolutionary development in timekeeping. Hidden underneath the dial are a series of miniature solar panels. They collect light energy and dispense it throughout the day in the form of a ticking seconds hand. This allows the watch to run almost perpetually without ever needing a battery replacement or hand winding. Furthermore, because it’s quartz-regulated, the watch is even more accurate than most Swiss luxury mechanical watches from brands like Rolex and Omega. It makes for the ultimate grab-and-go watch.
