Riley Gaines speaks out on dismissal of her lawsuit vs NCAA, hopes to take case to SCOTUS

September 30, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

Riley Gaines said the dismissal of her lawsuit against the NCAA could move the legal battle closer to what she hopes is its ultimate destination: the U.S. Supreme Court.Gaines, joined by Independent Council on Women’s Sports co-founders Kim Jones and Marshi Smith, told Fox News Digital in an exclusive group interview that the plaintiffs will appeal after a federal judge granted summary judgment to the NCAA on their remaining Title IX claims.”No instance of defeat or what is perceived or deemed as defeat feels good,” Gaines said. “There [were] feelings of frustration, obviously, with the basis of what the grounds for dismissal was, indicating that the NCAA was not subject to Title IX.”RILEY GAINES’ LAWSUIT VS NCAA DISMISSED BY BIDEN-APPOINTED JUDGE, APPEAL PLANNEDSmith said the first reaction among the other women involved in the lawsuit was “shock,” particularly because the NCAA has frequently celebrated Title IX and its role in the growth of women’s college sports.”The year that Riley was confronting this at the swim championships in 2022, it was the 50th-year anniversary of Title IX,” Smith said. “The number of Title IX parties that the NCAA and each individual university threw for themselves, celebrating themselves for the success and triumph of Title IX.”Smith said the plaintiffs were stunned to see the NCAA successfully argue that it was not covered by the law it had publicly celebrated.”To watch Riley compete against a 6-foot-4 male athlete that same year and have the NCAA celebrate him and his success in women’s sports, fast-forwarding to now, their complete denial of having any responsibility to Title IX — it’s mind-blowing,” Smith said.Jones described the other athletes as “bewildered” and “shell-shocked” by the outcome.”This is an institution that we, as female athletes, have always believed had our backs, were bound by federal law [and] could not violate the rights of female athletes across the country,” Jones said. “Even when I was going through school, the NCAA helped schools to ensure compliance to Title IX.”Jones argued that the NCAA’s structure makes the ruling especially difficult for the plaintiffs to accept. The organization is governed by representatives of its member institutions, many of which receive federal funding and are independently subject to Title IX.”The NCAA is the controlling authority for collegiate athletics. They set nationwide policy. And the NCAA is composed of the schools,” Jones said. “Their board of directors is presidents of universities.”WHAT THE SCOTUS TITLE IX RULING COULD MEAN FOR LAWSUITS SEEKING DAMAGES FOR WOMEN IMPACTED BY TRANS ATHLETESHowever, Gaines said the athletes became more optimistic after considering the path ahead.”Ultimately, this is something that I think myself and the dozens of other plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit would like to see before the Supreme Court,” Gaines said. “That way it can be established, the law of the land once and for all, when it comes to female athletes and how large institutions like the NCAA are able to harm us with, at this point, little to zero accountability.”U.S. District Judge Tiffany R. Johnson ruled Monday that the evidence did not establish the NCAA as a recipient of federal financial assistance through its concussion-research collaboration with the Department of Defense. Because receiving federal assistance is required for liability under Title IX, Johnson entered judgment for the NCAA and closed the case. The Biden-appointed judge did not determine whether the NCAA’s former transgender-athlete policy constituted sex discrimination. The lawsuit was filed in 2024 by Gaines and more than a dozen other current and former female college athletes. It challenged NCAA policies that permitted biological males who met certain eligibility requirements to compete in women’s events. The case focused heavily on the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, where Gaines tied former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas for fifth place in the 200-yard freestyle. Thomas won the 500-yard freestyle national championship and used a women’s locker room during the event.NCAA PRESIDENT CHARLIE BAKER REACTS TO SUPREME COURT RULING ON TRANSGENDER ATHLETESThat championship coincided with the 50th anniversary of Title IX, a detail Gaines and Smith said made the NCAA’s successful legal position particularly jarring.”At that national championship, the NCAA was handing out shirts that said, you know, ‘50 years of Title IX creating opportunities for women,’” Gaines said. “The irony at the time, of course, being that they were making us compete against a 6-foot-4 man. But now here we are in this position, understanding that the NCAA is arguing that they’re not subject to Title IX.”Smith called the contrast “mind-blowing.””The number of Title IX parties that the NCAA and each individual university threw for themselves, celebrating themselves for the success and triumph of Title IX,” Smith said. “Fast-forwarding to now, their complete denial of having any responsibility to Title IX — it’s mind-blowing.”The NCAA responded to the dismissal by defending its current record on women’s athletics.”The NCAA is proud to continually invest in and expand women’s sports and the NCAA is in full compliance with the Trump administration’s executive order on women’s sports,” the organization said in a statement to Fox News Digital.Gaines dismissed the response as “total hogwash” and accused the organization of invoking women’s sports only when convenient.”It’s just a way to kind of wink at everyone, act as if they’re doing the right thing, the upstanding thing,” Gaines said. “Again, pretending as if they care about women and their female athletes.”The NCAA changed its transgender participation policy in February 2025, one day after President Donald Trump signed his “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order. Its current rules prohibit athletes assigned male at birth from competing on women’s teams or receiving scholarships designated for women. However, the policy permits those athletes to practice with women’s teams and receive other benefits available to athletes eligible for practice.Smith argued that the NCAA’s statement did not offer female athletes a durable guarantee independent of the current administration.”They have made absolutely no guarantees to women,” Smith said. “They have not said, ‘We support female athletes and will not put men into women’s sports again.’”Jones said the legal fight has left the plaintiffs feeling betrayed by an organization they once believed was responsible for protecting college athletes and promoting Title IX compliance, and hopes to take the lawsuit to the highest court.”The goal of the young women is to — exactly what Riley said — take this all the way. There’s got to be accountability here.” Jones said. The plaintiffs have 30 days from the entry of judgment to file their notice of appeal with the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Gaines said she remains confident that the case can eventually reach the nation’s highest court.”There is light at the end of the tunnel,” she said. “There is some optimism thinking forward about this case.”The dispute has also become intertwined with the 2026 midterm elections and the broader political fight over transgender participation in women’s sports.Gaines said she expected Democrats to distance themselves from transgender-athlete policies after Republicans’ success in the 2024 election. Instead, she argued, the party has remained committed to positions she believes contributed to its electoral losses.”I really was under the impression that we would begin to see Democrats slowly start to recant, or distance themselves from their previous voting records, or statements, or things, that they’ve said when it comes to women’s rights and our safety and privacy and equal opportunities in our sports and beyond,” Gaines said. “But that’s just not at all what they’ve done.”Gaines cited Democratic proposals to expand the Supreme Court as one political development that could affect the lawsuit if it takes several years to reach the justices.”Even beyond this issue, that concerns me. Of course it does,” Gaines said. “That’s just one of many things across many different issues that the Democrats have promised to do and have campaigned on doing, which is why I believe there is such an emphasis on this November and what midterms really look like.”She urged parents to consider issues involving school sports, parental rights, education and student privacy when they vote.THE CRAIG CARTON SHOW–UNFILTERED, UNAPOLOGETIC AND UNMISSABLE. Major League Baseball desperately needs to fix its terrible postseason scheduling practices

September 30, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

Tuesday afternoon was a tremendous showcase for postseason baseball, with two division rivals squaring off in a best-of-three playoff series at a home stadium. The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies are playing a wild card series in Atlanta, with each game taking on tremendous importance as both look to advance to the NLDS and later rounds. Tuesday’s matchup was playoff baseball at its best, with a tight, closely-fought game between two elite starters in Jesus Luzardo and Chris Sale. Phillies manager Don Mattingly made the decision to win or lose with closer Jhoan Duran, sending him out for multiple innings to try and secure a 3-2 lead.Instead, the move backfired, with Braves third baseman Austin Riley launching a massive, two-out three-run homer to give Atlanta a 5-3 lead. Raisel Iglesias got the final three outs to take a 1-0 series lead and make Wednesday’s contest a possible elimination game for Philadelphia.ASTROS PLAYERS CALL OUT FANS FOR BOOING DURING GAME 1 LOSS TO WHITE SOX: ‘EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING’That’s exactly what Major League Baseball wants to showcase about the postseason. A late, game-changing homer involving two of the game’s stars. Dramatic finishes to conclude tight matchups. Massive stakes and incredible crowd reactions. There’s just one problem. As the camera panned across the field as Riley rounded the bases, showing the stands in left field, there were thousands of open seats. Some fans huddled in the concourses to avoid the late-September Atlanta heat, but entire sections were effectively completely empty.A huge, game-changing postseason moment at a home stadium with a star player launching a homer off one of baseball’s best closers. And there are thousands of open seats visible on the broadcast. Not exactly the best look for a sport working hard to grow and showcase its popularity against the all-powerful NFL.CLICK HERE FOR MORE OUTKICK SPORTS COVERAGEThis isn’t a criticism of Braves fans. The high temperature on Tuesday approached 90 degrees. First pitch wast at 2pm local time in the middle of a school and work day. It’s criticism of Major League Baseball’s scheduling strategy, which was always inexplicable and is now bordering on insane.MLB’s best-of-three wild card format now means that there are four games for the first two games of the playoffs, a necessity to allow the division series round to start on time. The league’s plan for this scheduling issue has been to stagger start times throughout the day. This year, for example, the first game starts at 2pm Eastern, then 5pm, then 8pm, then 10pm.THE CRAIG CARTON SHOW–UNFILTERED, UNAPOLOGETIC AND UNMISSABLE. DOWNLOAD HIS DAILY PODCAST NOW!In theory, this makes some sense. Instead of the games stepping on each other and limiting potential viewership, each is separated to allow fans to watch all four without flipping back and forth. In practice, it’s a disaster.SIGN UP FOR THE DAILY OUTKICK NEWSLETTERThe 2pm Eastern start time on a weekday doesn’t work for many fans who’d otherwise love to attend or watch games. Which is what leads to the scores of empty seats at a playoff game for a team with a massive, dedicated fanbase like Atlanta. Even for those watching on television, say, west coast fans, an 11am start time puts first pitch squarely in the middle of a workday. Following the game on a phone is one thing, watching it in an office or at a job that requires manual labor is another. The league may have decided that it’s worth these sacrifices in order to space out the games, but anecdotally, they’re wrong. Before the advent of streaming television, it was harder to watch multiple games at once. In the modern world though, YouTube TV, as just one example, will automatically create multi-view setups. Or fans can create their own. Individual apps have built their own multi-view experiences too, useful with several games broadcast exclusively on Peacock.Meanwhile, Tuesday night’s game in San Diego was completely packed, with a raucous, sold out crowd celebrating wildly when Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a leadoff homer, then again when Manny Machado hit one of his own. That game started at 7pm local time. What a surprise. This issue isn’t exclusive to the wild card series either. The league already announced that if the Padres advance in their wild card series, game one of the NLDS between the Dodgers and winner of the Braves-Phillies series will start at 1pm local time. It’s on a Saturday, at least, but with LA expected to face an extreme heat wave pushing temperatures to near or over 100 degrees, a 1pm start time would guarantee open seats at Dodger Stadium.Even in Houston, Astros players spoke about the frustrations with poor attendance for a game that started at 4pm local time.”The fans here are definitely spoiled with a lot of ALCS and World Series runs, and we have to earn that right to bring this team back to that position,” said pitcher Bennett Sousa after the game. “That being said, when this team was in their first (playoff) series 10 years ago, Minute Maid Park was probably packed. It makes a big difference. If we were in Chicago, it’d probably be loud as s—.”Again, there’s an easy solution to this. Start the games at a time that makes sense for local fans; 5pm-7pm. The league will get the big moments and crowd reactions they want to highlight, television networks likely won’t see a meaningful dip in viewership, and fans and players will be happier. It’s easy and simple, which means it won’t happen.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO – Arrogant And Pretentious Dem Senator Ben Ray Lujan Dismisses Gateway Pundit Reporter

September 30, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

Democratic Senator Ben Ray Lujan snubbed Gateway Pundit reporter Myles Morell on Capitol Hill when Morell attempted to speak with him.
Lujan’s attitude came off as arrogant and pretentious, which is a common theme for Senate Democrats on the Hill.
Morell and independent journalist Anthony Pellegrino caught up with Lujan near an elevator, and the public servant immediately weasels his way out of any potential conversation by asking, “Who are you with?”
Senators asking you who you’re with is a common cop out tactic Senators will use as an excuse to avoid talking to reporters.
Morell told Lujan he is with TGP, and Lujan ignores Morell. He then turns over to Pellegrino and accuses him of being a “tracker.”
A tracker is a political operative that is deployed into the field to ask politicians inflammatory questions in an attempt to make them look bad.
Both Democrats and Republicans deploy trackers across the country.
Lujan then turns to Morell and once again asks him who he is with. Morell once again tells Lujan he’s with the Gateway Pundit.
Lujan then sarcastically said, “Thanks for being here,” and slightly moved Morell’s phone before having another conversation with Pellegrino about media credentials on the Hill.
As Lujan went into the elevator, Morell told him it was nice to meet him as a gesture of professionalism.
Lujan said it was great to meet Morell as well and then gave him a cold, dismissive look.

I tried to talk to Sen. @benraylujan and he responded in a very dismissive manner by asking me who I’m with.
I then told him I’m with @gatewaypundit and he sarcastically said “thanks for being here” and made a slight push on my phone. pic.twitter.com/Ln78NNfhGT
— Myles Morell (@MorellMedia) September 30, 2026

Lujan is running for reelection unopposed in 2026, so he will get at least another six years in office. Senators often get insane job security, as most of them run in non-competitive states.
His tone of voice and body language suggest that once he heard Morell was with the Gateway Pundit and not a legacy media outlet, he immediately shut down the conversation.
If it was CNN, MS, CBS, or Fox News, then he would’ve been more than happy to talk to them.
Legacy media outlets are much easier for Senators to talk to since they never cover things that actually matter.
The lack of effort to talk to a non-legacy media outlet is typical of a Democratic Senator who thinks he’s better than everyone and forgets that he serves the American people.
What do you think?

Bank of America warns Apple investors because of Meta’s Muse

September 30, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: SUCCESS, The Street

Apple (AAPL) has spent this year fending off worries about falling behind in the AI race. For the most part, investors have been willing to give the company the benefit of the doubt. This time, a different kind of warning surfaced, one that has nothing to do with chips, silicon, or how smart Apple’s own AI actually is.

It came from one of Apple’s most reliable supporters on Wall Street, who kept his bullish rating firmly in place while describing a shift that could quietly drain value from the business for years without a single iPhone sale changing hands.

BofA says Apple could win every phone sale and still lose the app that matters

Bank of America kept its Buy rating and $370 price target on Apple. Analyst Wamsi Mohan did not cut the stock. What he did do was describe a specific way Apple could lose ground without losing a single iPhone sale. Discovery. Referral. Transaction initiation.

Apple shares slipped roughly 2% after the note landed, according to 24/7 Wall St.

The concern centers on who controls that decision point once an AI agent starts making it, instead of the user opening an app. Mohan wrote that whoever owns the agent collects the routing economics that previously accrued to operating systems, search engines, and app stores.

He pointed to Meta’s (META) Muse assistant and its expanding list of commerce partners, including Shopify, Expedia, and PayPal, as early signs of how that model could shift.

Bank of America just made a strong call on inflation, economy

Not every retailer is playing along. Amazon blocked Muse from operating on its marketplace within days of launch, citing unauthorized access and concerns over how the agent interacted with the site.

Shopify moved in the opposite direction and opened its full catalog and Shopify Pay to the agent, sending Shopify shares up more than 7% on the day the partnership was announced, Benzinga reported.

Mohan is not calling this a sell. He still has Apple winning the long AI race at the device level. The installed base is real. The privacy advantage is real. His argument is about what happens in the gap between now and when Apple closes it.

Muse’s rapid rise is what’s forcing the reassessment

Muse launched on September 8 as a personal AI agent capable of sending emails, booking travel, handling purchases, and coordinating a user’s schedule largely on its own, running on a dedicated virtual machine that continues to run even after the user closes the app.

The app climbed to the number one spot on Apple’s own U.S. App Store chart within its first two weeks, passing 2.5 million downloads. A pace fast enough that JPMorgan compared it to ChatGPT’s early trajectory, the fastest-growing consumer app in history at the time of its 2022 launch, Benzinga reported.

Even Bank of America does not expect Muse to generate meaningful revenue from ads, subscriptions, or commissions before 2028. The near-term threat to Apple is more about changes in user behavior. The question is where consumers form purchase intent, not how many dollars change hands immediately.

That distinction matters for how Meta is being valued, too. Bank of America has kept its Buy rating on Meta intact, partly because Muse is reshaping how investors view the company’s AI spending. Even Meta faces a decision about whether to use its limited computing capacity for products like Muse or to lease that capacity to outside customers.

Apple’s own AI response has gaps agents are exploiting

Apple’s answer so far is an updated Siri built on Apple Foundation Models and Private Cloud Compute, released alongside iOS 27.

Mohan noted it currently lacks some of Muse’s background task capabilities and broader ability to take third-party actions on a user’s behalf, 9to5Mac reported.

This is not a new argument for Mohan. Back in May, he raised his Apple price target on the idea that agentic AI favors platforms that already control user intent, context, app access, identity, payments, and trust. Apple’s tight grip on its silicon and operating system gives it exactly that kind of control, he argued.

The hardware side of Apple’s business still looks solid heading into this debate. Morgan Stanley said that 14 days after iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max pre-orders opened, global lead times remained broadly flat year over year, even though Apple had built 18% more premium units, Investing.com reported.

Retail investors have not fully caught up to that read. Even with Apple ranking as the best-performing Mag-7 stock so far in 2026, sentiment on Stocktwits has remained stuck in bearish territory.

What this means for Apple’s long game in AI

Bank of America has laid out a handful of catalysts it is watching across Meta’s own AI buildout, including how quickly Muse adoption converts into paid features and how Meta’s custom chip strategy affects the cost of running these agents at scale.

Apple is not in crisis. iPhones are still selling. Services revenue is still growing. The risk Mohan is pointing at is quieter than that. It is about who owns what happens after someone unlocks their phone.

What it does mean is that the fight for Apple’s next decade of growth may increasingly be decided by which company owns the moment a customer decides what to do next. Not by which company sells them the device they are holding when they decide it.

‘The View’ panel blasts Lindsay Clancy defense attorney for ‘moving the goalposts’ on evidence

This story discusses suicide. If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, please contact the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988 or 800-273-TALK (8255).”The View” co-hosts criticized Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington on Wednesday for seemingly “moving the goalposts” by suggesting a lack of evidence that she killed her children.During the show, the women of the ABC daytime talk show discussed Reddington appearing to change strategies after he submitted a motion for a required finding of not guilty on the grounds that the prosecution did not provide sufficient evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt that Clancy killed her three kids.”Where’s the evidence that she did this?” Reddington asked Judge William Sullivan in court Tuesday. “Where is the evidence she did this?”LINDSAY CLANCY’S ATTORNEY ASKS JUDGE TO ACQUIT HER OUTRIGHT, ENDING CASE AND BARRING A RETRIALThis marked a significant shift in Reddington’s legal argument. During the trial, Reddington did not dispute that Clancy killed her children, but argued that she was not criminally responsible due to postpartum psychosis.”The View” panel was skeptical of this new claim considering Reddington’s previous argument already presumed that Clancy had, in fact, killed her children.”My jaw was on the floor because the defense’s entire argument hinged on she had postpartum psychosis. She wasn’t responsible by reason of insanity but she — in a psychotic state — did this crime, and now he’s like, ‘We don’t even know if she did it,’” Alyssa Farah Griffin remarked.Co-host Sara Haines suggested Reddington reasonably pointed out holes in the evidence but added that she knows no one who believes there should be no accountability.”Now I feel like the lawyer is moving the goalposts a bit, but if you read his description … there were a lot of holes. Everything was decided on that it was assumed she did it. But there was a question then about everything that she was repeating had been recounted to her because she had no memory in the hospital,” Haines said.ROGAN SHREDS SUPPORTERS OF LINDSAY CLANCY, SAYS THEY WOULDN’T RALLY IF A FATHER WERE ON TRIAL FOR SAME CRIMESunny Hostin, a former lawyer, had the harshest criticism against Reddington, calling his argument “a terrible take.””I don’t understand how you can spend an entire trial arguing that she did it but she is not criminally responsible because she was suffering from a psychotic episode and postpartum psychosis and then turn around in front of the very same judge and say there’s no evidence she did it. I think that is a terrible take,” Hostin said.”I’m not convinced he’s not on TikTok,” Haines replied.”It feels very conspiracy theory and not grounded in the law and I don’t love this new position,” Hostin added. In a comment to Fox News Digital, George Washington University professor and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley likewise criticized Reddington’s new strategy.”Kevin Reddington appears to be crafting a criminal defense like the 1985 screenplay of ‘Clue’ with different endings for different audiences. After insisting that Clancy did kill her children, he is now arguing that there is no evidence showing that she killed her children,” Turley said.He added, “Reddington says that the judge effectively prevented him from arguing that Clancy may not have committed the crime. If so, he should thank Judge Sullivan. His insanity defense built on a clearly sympathetic jury. Arguing this alternative theory would likely have alienated many jurors by insulting their intelligence.”SUNNY HOSTIN’S HOLDOUT JUROR CLAIM COMPLICATED BY CONFLICTING REPORTS FROM INFAMOUS 1991 MURDER TRIALFellow Fox News contributor Gregg Jarrett also said Reddington has lost all credibility. “At trial, he openly conceded that his client strangled her three young children. It was never in doubt or dispute. Now he’s contradicting himself by saying something that’s demonstrably untrue and utterly absurd. When you do that as a lawyer, you undermine the very argument you’re making to the judge. And you’ve damaged your client in the process. But given the outrageous conduct of Reddington in publicly attacking the holdout juror, no one should be surprised.” Clancy is due back in court on Nov. 2 for another motion hearing. She has pending motions to dismiss the charges on double jeopardy grounds and to open an inquiry into the holdout juror.A new trial has not yet been scheduled. Both the prosecution and the defense told the court they needed more time, and Reddington said that he’s not available to start one until June 2027.

‘This is Jerome Powell’s fault’: Watchdog says Fed’s $2.5 billion boondoggle renovation was mismanaged, not criminal

September 30, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

Here we go.
The Federal Reserve’s internal watchdog said the central bank mismanaged the renovation but found no criminal wrongdoing in the $2.5 billion boondoggle.
Federal investigators in January opened a criminal investigation into Fed Chairman Jerome Powell.
Powell was under fire for the cost of renovating the Fed’s DC headquarters. The cost ballooned from $1.9 billion to $2.5 billion.
“Powell has asked the central bank’s inspector general to conduct an additional review of the ongoing renovation, CNN previously reported. Last month, some Senate lawmakers grilled Powell over what they depicted as lavish upgrades to its DC headquarters at Powell’s semiannual monetary policy hearing,’ CNN previously reported.
“The Fed’s renovation project was approved by its board in 2017 and originally cost $1.9 billion in 2019. Construction began in 2021, but the cost swelled to $2.5 billion because of “unforeseen conditions” requiring more spending to rectify, such as “more asbestos than anticipated, toxic contamination in soil, and a higher-than-expected water table,” according to the Fed’s website,” CNN reported.
The Fed watchdog determined no criminality in the central bank’s renovation.
NBC News reported:
The Federal Reserve’s independent watchdog said Wednesday it found no reasonable grounds to believe there was a violation of federal law in a multibillion-dollar renovation project that drew criticism from President Donald Trump and short-lived scrutiny from federal prosecutors.
But the central bank’s board “had not effectively executed” a contract and its cost-management provisions, according to a 120-page report from the Office of the Inspector General for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Even after four years of construction and over $2 billion in awarded construction costs, the Fed board had “not established a guaranteed maximum price” for the project, and had set up “insufficient” internal project governance to manage a project of such “magnitude and complexity,” the watchdog said.
Still, the report “did not identify administrative misconduct” nor any “reasonable grounds to believe that a violation of federal criminal law had occurred.”

Last July, Jerome Powell was criminally referred to the Justice Department for prosecution.
Earlier this year, Judge Boasberg, an Obama appointee, quashed the Justice Department’s subpoenas issued to Fed Chairman Jerome Powell.
Boasberg previously blasted Trump and US Attorney Pirro, saying the subpoenas were improperly issued after the president pressured Powell to lower interest rates.
In April, the Justice Department dropped its criminal investigation into Jerome Powell.
President Trump called for Jerome Powell to resign from the Board of Governors.
Trump also said he has asked Todd Blanche to study the Inspector General’s report:
The Inspector General’s Report just came out on Jerome “Too Late” Powell’s “renovation” of the Federal Reserve Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The IG’s Report states that there were “deficiencies in the management of the renovation project.” The Building is over budget, at a Record Setting rate and, at a minimum, “Too Late” Powell should be forced to resign from the Board. He can’t manage a Building, and he certainly shouldn’t be allowed to manage his High Interest Rate Policy (only on “TRUMP!”). I have asked Attorney General Todd Blanche to study the report, and make a determination as to what to do about a relatively small Building Complex that is Hundreds of Millions of Dollars over budget, and is now going to cost, according to the Report, at least 2.5 Billion Dollars, with no end in sight.
The Report states, “We were concerned to find that the Board did not obtain a project cost estimate from the [construction manager] until January 2026, which was 3.5 years after construction began and after the Board had awarded more than $2 billion in construction costs. As of July 2026, more than 4 years after construction began and $2 billion has been awarded for construction, the Board had yet to set a [guaranteed maximum price]” — An absolutely unheard of situation! — “The Board therefore still does not have cost certainty and has not transferred material risk to the [construction manager].” In actuality, I think that the 2.5 Billion Dollars will be 3.5 Billion Dollars, and maybe 4 Billion Dollars by the time they’re finished, and may never get properly built. Soundproofing, and all other elements of the Building, will be inferior to what was previously there.
In particular, the magnificent beauty, sculptured ceilings and walls, and so many other things which made the Federal Reserve Building stand apart, will never be captured again, and are only being replaced by flat, boring, less than midlevel finishes. I could have done a far better Renovation for 25 Million Dollars, completely maintaining the MAGNIFICENCE of the structure, and had money left over. They completely destroyed the Beauty and Glorious History of the Building. This is Jerome Powell’s fault, and he should be forced to resign, IMMEDIATELY! If he doesn’t resign, he should be sued, at the highest level, by the United States Government, for either corruption or incompetence, both of which are completely unacceptable…And no, I do not want this Building named after President Donald J. Trump, ME! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP
