An Oregon elementary school teacher who fought a teenage gunman during a deadly school shooting earlier this month has broken her silence, describing the tragedy as a loss she will carry with her forever.Cassidy Schutz, a certified learning specialist at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, released her first public statement Friday through Bend-La Pine Schools, just over two weeks after the Oct. 15 attack left three children and a teacher dead.”There are no words to describe the depth of sadness I am feeling following the events of October 15th. This is not a story. This is a horrific and heartbreaking tragedy, and it is our real lives,” Schutz said in the statement.HERO DAD WHO TOOK DOWN OREGON SCHOOL SHOOTER IDENTIFIED ALONG WITH TEACHER, STUDENT BOTH KILLED IN ATTACK”My thoughts are with those who were lost, their families, those who were hurt, and those who were there that day. My heart is with you. It all happened so fast, and I wish with everything in me that we had more time. The pain of this loss I will carry with me forever.”Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz previously credited Schutz with throwing her cellphone at the shooter and wrestling him for control of his shotgun during the attack.Schutz also asked for privacy as she continues to heal.INJURED BEND, OREGON, TEACHER TRIED TO SHUT CLASSROOM DOOR DURING SCHOOL SHOOTING BEFORE PLAYING DEAD”There are no words for this unimaginable reality we are facing. My focus is on these families, our team, our school, and my own healing,” she said. “As I continue to navigate this, I ask that you please give me the time, space, and privacy I need to heal. I will not be making any additional public statements at this time.”The shooting unfolded when a 16-year-old former student entered the school and opened fire inside a classroom serving students with special needs, according to police.Teacher Megan Lambert, 25, and three students, including 5-year-old Rhoam Summer and two other children, ages 8 and 11, were killed.DEMOCRATS’ LATEST GUN-CONTROL PUSH RUNS INTO INCONVENIENT FACT ABOUT HOW SCHOOL KILLER WAS STOPPEDAnother teacher, Becky Drury, and a 7-year-old girl were wounded but survived.Drury previously told Fox News Digital she tried to close her classroom door after spotting the gunman but was shot before she could stop him from entering. She suffered severe injuries to both arms and pretended to be dead to avoid being shot again before hero dad Kaylub Giamanco, 36, shot the attacker dead.
JUST UGLY: Abdul Al-Sayed Brings Up Pete Hegseth’s MOTHER – Says Pete “Probably Rode the Pine” in High School… Hegseth Was All-State in High School, Played College Ball
Radical Abdul El-Sayed went on with Hasan Minhaj this week and decided to rant about Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. Abdul, who didn’t play sports, tried to smear Hegseth – an all-state player in Minnesota!
Radical, offensive Democrat Abdul Muhammed Al-Sayed sat down with Hasan Minhaj for an interview this week.
During the interview Al-Sayed thought it would be good to bring up Pete’s mother!
That’s where we are right now with these offensive, conscience-less Democrats, bringing up Republican moms!
He also accused Pete of “riding the pine” or sitting on the bench his entire career.
For the record, Pete Hegseth was an all-state basketball player in Minnesota. He was valedictorian of his high school and an all state basketball guard. Pete also played wide receiver in football. Pete was later inducted into his high school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Hegseth chose Princeton University (over a West Point appointment) to play basketball and graduated in 2003 with a B.A. in politics. He was a four-year varsity letterman as a guard (~6’0″–6’1″, 170 lbs) on the men’s team, appearing in both the NCAA and NIT tournaments.
Abdul Muhamed Al-Sayed: Pete Hegseth, everybody knows that guy from the locker room.
He would’ve, you know, he would’ve rode the pine. He probably got to start two games his entire career playing whatever sport he was (in), and it made his life. And his parents came and cheered so hard for him.
And, as a kid whose parents never came, right, and started every game, part of me is just like, bro, I feel bad for you.
Somebody told you you were a lot better than you really are. Like, there’s something about being a brown kid whose parents, like, you know, no matter what you do, you’re never enough…
…So what that means is that you never take yourself too seriously. You’re like, I’m never gonna be enough. Right?
So you’re just like, oh, But for him, the very fact that he made the team, his mom was making cake, she was wearing his jersey, she had a cake made for him.
You know the type. So I’m like, bro, you grew up thinking that you were somehow special, but you are not. And you have been living off that fume for the rest of your life.
Could you imagine what we would’ve become if we had supportive parents who just uplifted us? For being mediocre?
Via Chuck Ross:
El-Sayed went on this bizarre rant against Pete Hegseth — claiming that Hegseth “rode the pine” in “whatever sport he played” in high school.
He invoked Hegseth’s mother (moms are fair game now, huh?), and claimed she was “the type” who would have worn her son’s jersey to games.
*Hegseth was an all-state point guard in high school in Minnesota, set various school records. He played college ball and got some floor time in the 2001 NCAA tournament. El-Sayed played club lacrosse at Michigan.*
Here’s El-Sayed’s animosity-filled diatribe against Hegseth:
“You know he would have rode the pine. He probably got to start 2 games his entire career, playing whatever sport it was.”
“His parents came and cheered so hard for him.”
“Bro, I feel bad for you. Somebody told you you’re a lot better than you really are.”
“There’s something about being a brown kid whose parents…no matter what you do you’re never enough.”
“For him, the very fact that he made the team: his mom was making cake, she was wearing his jersey, she had a cap made for him. You know the type.”

‘Decoy Dan’ Skipped Town Two Days Before NYT Bombshell As Feds Surge Into Alaska
The second Dan Sullivan on Alaska’s Senate ballot has left his hometown, multiple sources told CBS News on Friday, four days before Alaskans finish voting in a race that could decide control of the Senate.Daniel J. Sullivan, a retired Petersburg schoolteacher running as an independent against Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan, was seen on a flight to Anchorage on Monday by a resident and former student, who told CBS she didn’t know where he was headed. That was two days before the New York Times reported that operatives linked to Democrat Mary Peltola’s campaign had recruited him to run, as we reported Wednesday.Daniel J. A friend said he and his wife are known for traveling the world. Residents were split: one supporter told CBS that Sullivan is the only candidate who can represent Southeast Alaska, while fisherman Andrew Worhatch said, “I don’t think it’s a serious candidacy.”Sullivan didn’t respond when Petersburg public radio station KFSK sought comment Wednesday, and CBS’s report carries no comment from him. He has said his campaign had no connection to Peltola’s.Michael Heyman, the U.S. attorney for Alaska, said Friday that the reporting on the candidate’s origins was “troubling” and had prompted a “significant surge of law enforcement assets” into the state, though he wouldn’t say which crimes prosecutors are weighing, according to CBS. Heyman said the matter had been “going on sort of quietly for several months.” He had been recused while under consideration for a judicial nomination, and that recusal “has officially been rescinded,” he said. The Justice Department, which has subpoenaed several Democratic officials, will seek a preliminary injunction and expedited discovery by Monday in its civil suit to stop Alaska from certifying the result if Sen. Sullivan loses because of voter confusion, Heyman said. The administration filed that suit last week, as we reported, and Todd Blanche defended it in a testy exchange with CNN’s Dana Bash.Gov. Mike Dunleavy has ordered a separate state investigation into whether Peltola’s campaign should face criminal charges or civil penalties, and said the state could stop or change certification of the Senate result if it finds illegal conduct. Peltola has said she “knew nothing about” the Petersburg candidate and is “not interested in tricking voters.” No one has been charged.State election officials struck Daniel J. Sullivan from the ballot earlier this year, citing a “deliberate attempt” to confuse voters, but a judge put him back on. He then finished third in the August top-four primary to advance to the general election, Alaska Public Media reported. Sen. Sullivan calls him a “sham candidate.”

North Korea’s Kim Orders Drone Buildup In Push For “Absolute Superiority” In Unmanned Warfare
North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency reported that supreme leader Kim Jong Un attended an exhibition featuring intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) drones and a variety of one-way attack drones. In a speech at the exhibition, leader Kim focused on the urgent need to seize “absolute superiority in drone technology” and revealed unspecified steps needed to “rapidly expand and strengthen unmanned aeronautical technology.”Kim Jong Un — alive and well — showed up at a weapons exhibition and demanded that North Korea become a leader in combat drone productionLater, the dictator was shown what kamikaze drones, cruise missiles and powerful multiple rocket launchers are capable of. pic.twitter.com/aFEATZ4FVF— NEXTA (@nexta_tv) October 30, 2026
Belgium-based defense news website Army Recognition stated:North Korea has displayed a new flying-wing drone alongside large reconnaissance aircraft, armed unmanned platforms, loitering munitions and first-person-view attack systems, highlighting a broader effort to modernize its military drone fleet. The exhibition, attended by Kim Jong-un, was accompanied by missile launches and heavy rocket fire designed to demonstrate how unmanned systems could support strikes against South Korean and US military targets.Army Recognition highlighted a live-fire demonstration at the event that used a North Korean one-way attack drone to target a mock US M1 Abrams. The outlet continued:North Korea also presented several loitering munitions resembling the Israeli Harop and Hero families, alongside an anti-armor design comparable in appearance to the American Switchblade 600. Demonstrations included attacks against simulated South Korean guard posts, K9 self-propelled howitzers, counterbattery radars and US M1 Abrams tanks. These aircraft were accompanied by lightweight expendable drones, large numbers of first-person-view (FPV) quadcopters and systems apparently equipped with fiber-optic cable dispensers. The modernization of North Korea’s defense force with drones comes as the US is urgently seeking to unleash a massive procurement supercycle worth $1.5 trillion, with $75 billion allocated to drones and counter-drone technologies. However, that effort may face major headwinds if Democrats sweep the midterms, potentially delaying or drastically reducing funding intended to prepare the US military for these emerging threats.

DAVID MARCUS: California transplants in Texas are voting Democrat and they see no irony in it
McKinney, Texas, is ground zero for the migration of voters from California to Texas over the past several years. On Election Day, it is these newcomers who may well tip the balance not just in the Senate and governor’s races, but also whether the once ruby-red Lone Star State will continue to grow bluer.I met Oren at The Celt on the picture-postcard town square, where we played a friendly game of pool. He moved from California about a year ago “because it’s a lot cheaper to live,” but is voting for Democrats because he believes that Texas needs “more social services and public transit,” as well as more support for transgender kids. When I gently tried to press Oren on the apparent illogic of moving away from a high-tax, big-government blue state for reasons of cost — only to vote to make his new home a high-tax, big-government state — he was unmoved, almost arguing that real California progressivism has never been tried.FOX NEWS POLL: TEXAS SENATE RACE GALLOPING TOWARD A PHOTO FINISHIt turns out that Oren was not as much of an outlier as I had expected because, not long after, I met Daniel, who works at a local restaurant and moved to McKinney a few years ago with his best friend and girlfriend to start a business. He has also proudly brought his politics with him.”It’s in the Constitution,” Daniel told Fox News Digital, going on to say, “We can go anywhere we want, it’s meant to be that way.”When I asked him if he could understand why so many people born and raised in Texas are worried about transplants changing its politics, he shrugged and said, “Things change.”JOE ROGAN WARNS LIBERALS AGAINST TRYING TO TURN TEXAS BLUE, SAYS IT WOULD WRECK THE STATE’S ‘DELICATE BALANCE’In the space of about five hours, I met two more refugees from California prepared to keep voting for Democrats. Like Oren and Daniel, they really did not see any irony in the fact that they may be recreating in Texas exactly the conditions they escaped in California. The natives, however, do see the problem with the Californication of Texas. Terry, a longtime local in her 60s, told me, “I love to see the growth, and there’s a lot of it, but if they bring Democratic politics with them, then we stand to lose the whole thing bringing people here.”Clint, who was in town from his home just on the other side of the Oklahoma border, is worried not just about Texas turning blue through domestic migration, but even about the Sooner State eventually turning blue.TRUMP WON THIS RELIABLY RED STATE BY DOUBLE DIGITS. NOW A DEADLOCKED RACE IS BRINGING HIM BACK”I cannot comprehend why someone would move from a state because there’s high taxes and then come down here and vote for high taxes, I just can’t comprehend it,” Clint told Fox News Digital, adding, “and I’ve asked them to explain it to me, but they just cuss me out.”Thankfully, nobody cussed out this columnist for asking, but Clint is correct that the liberal transplants see no problem with transforming the red states they arrive in into blue states, and it’s not just Texas.Arizona and even Montana have seen influxes of liberal California voters. West Virginians have similar fears regarding their neighbors to the south in Northern Virginia, who are also attracted by the low taxes and cost of living.ELECTION DAY 2026: JOIN AMERICA’S CONVERSATION HERE!In Texas, there is a kind of double-pincer political invasion because, along with the Cali converts, unchecked immigration — illegal and otherwise — over decades has also pushed the needle left in the state. This is, in a nutshell, the new Democratic Party coalition: wealthy, college-educated Whites and immigrants. The bottom line for Republicans — not just in Texas but in many red states — is that Americans are moving at stunning rates to cheaper states, which almost always means Republican states. The good news is that red states stand to gain in the Electoral College and in Congress after the next census, but that won’t matter if Democrats take them over.Between now and then, and especially on Tuesday, “Don’t you turn my red state blue” has to be the mantra of the GOP. If Texas falls this time, then anywhere can, and that is exactly what the Democrats moving to red states are hoping for and creating.
James Talafreako’s Email Appears on Dating Site Leak – Profile Tied to Email Lists “Fetish” and “Group Sex” as Interests
Screenshot of Twitter/X video.
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico’s email address has been uncovered in a database from a 2011 data breach of Fling.com, an online dating and hook-up website, Townhall reports.
Townhall reports that Talarico’s attorneys confirmed the email belonged to and was used by the Texas Democrat.
The online account was created just before Talarico began teaching sixth graders at Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio, Texas, back in 2011.
The profile, “mohawk787,” which is reportedly associated with an email belonging to Talarico, lists “FETISH,” “GROUPSEX,” “SEXUAL RELATIONS,” “ONLINE FLIRTING,” and “OTHER” as the user’s interests.
The same email address also appears on other websites, including Myspace, and IP address matches suggest that Talarico’s sister, Madeline Talarico, created a Neopets page from the same location, Townhall reports. Still, it is unclear based on the records who actually created the account using Talarico’s email.
And, in a letter to Townhall, Talarico’s attorneys note that the birth date and zip code associated with the profile did not match those of Talarico, threatening legal consequences.
“Talarico never created an account on Fling.com, and objective evidence confirms it,” Jacquelyn K. Lopez and Sarah N. Mahmood wrote. “The account you are referencing was created using a hacked email address. It was also never used—it was active for a grand total of 54 seconds on Fling.com. You are formally on notice that any allegation that Mr. Talarico created or used such an account is false; if you publish it anyway, you will defame him and will be liable for the resulting legal damages.”
Townhall reports:
The records from the Fling.com data breach show displayed account creation and last-login timestamps that are 54 seconds apart. The screenshots show no later login before the database leaked in 2011, but they do not establish that the account was accessed again.
The Fling.com database record lists the email address as “validated,” marked with a “Y” for yes. According to the database structure published by cybersecurity researcher Troy Hunt, the default setting was “N” for no. This means the email address was marked as verified rather than left at its default setting.
The record also shares an IP address with a separate database leak involving an email address associated with Talarico’s sister used in association with an account at a company called Neopets. An IP address can identify the internet connection used to establish the user account, which could indicate that the accounts reflected in the Fling.com and the Neopets data breaches originated from the same internet connection.

BREAKING: Alaska Senate Decoy Candidate Dan Sullivan DISAPPEARS as US Attorney Announces Surge in FBI Agents to Investigate Peltola Campaign Scandal (VIDEO)
US Attorney for Alaska Michael Heyman, held a press conference on Friday afternoon to update the public on his office’s ongoing criminal investigation into Alaska’s Senate ‘spoiler’ candidate Dan J. Sullivan.
The Justice Department has launched an aggressive criminal investigation in Daniel J. Sullivan. Federal prosecutors have issued more than 40 subpoenas.
News of the criminal investigation comes after The New York Times confirmed that Mary Peltola’s campaign recruited the decoy Dan J Sullivan to confuse Alaska voters.
Democrat operatives in Mary Peltola’s campaign worked to register a man named Daniel J. Sullivan as Dan S. Sullivan (the incumbent Senator’s name) as a GOP challenger.
The Times reported that the plan involved traveling to “far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.”
“The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan,” the New York Times reported.
Michael Heyman provided an update on the ongoing investigation into Mary Peltola’s campaign.
“Every Alaskan deserves a fair election and they’re going to get one, Michael Heyman said. “We will not let anyone or any group undermine this election,” Michael Heyman said.
“This new information has resulted in a significant surge of law enforcement assets to Alaska, and I have assigned several attorneys in my office to assist in the matter as well,” he said.
WATCH:
Meanwhile, the decoy Daniel J. Sullivan has disappeared.
According to CBS News, Dan Sullivan left his hometown and was last seen on a flight to Anchorage on Monday.
His current whereabouts are not known.
CBS News reported:
Daniel J. Sullivan, the independent candidate running for Senate in Alaska whose name is almost identical to the Republican senator running for reelection, left his hometown of Petersburg earlier this week, multiple sources confirmed to CBS News.
One resident and former student of Sullivan’s said she saw Sullivan on a flight to Anchorage on Monday — two days before The New York Times first reported that he was recruited by operatives linked to Democrat Mary Peltola’s campaign. The source added she did not know where Sullivan was headed, but another friend said he and his wife are known among friends as “world travelers.”
Sullivan’s current whereabouts after leaving his hometown are not clear.
Dozens of Petersburg residents also told CBS News they never saw or received any campaign materials like mailers, flyers, brochures or signs since the former elementary school teacher announced his candidacy last spring.

Key Takeaways
Money’s review of nearly two dozen lenders across six weighted factors names CrossCountry Mortgage best overall; minimum credit scores start at 500.
Homes built before June 15, 1976, fail HUD standards and can’t get conventional, FHA, VA or USDA mortgages — leaving chattel or personal loans.

The lender offers multiple loan options and has a minimum credit score requirement of 550, making its products widely accessible. Triad also accepts cash, trade, and land-in-lieu as down payment options, giving borrowers greater financing flexibility.
Other companies we considered
Vanderbilt Mortgage: Vanderbilt Mortgage (NMLS #1561) provides financing for new and used manufactured homes, as well as home-and-land loans and loans for borrowers with poor credit (as low as 480). The lender is a subsidiary of Clayton Homes and the primary financing provider for the manufactured home builder. Vanderbilt doesn’t make our list because it lacks sufficient detail on several key data points in our evaluation criteria.
Rocket Mortgage: Rocket Mortgage (NMLS #3030) gets consideration in any “best of” mortgage list we publish, but when it comes to mobile home loans, its offerings just don’t measure up. The online lender’s loan options are limited to only FHA, VA and conventional loans, which may not work for many mobile home buyers.
CIS Home Loans: CIS Home Loans (NMLS #93140) offers a wide range of loan options and strong customer reviews. Its limited geographic footprint — just 26 states — and its owned-land-only requirement (no leased land or mobile home parks) kept it from being a top pick.
What you need to know about mobile home loans
Financing a mobile or manufactured home purchase differs from financing a typical property. Not all lenders will allow you to purchase these types of homes, so keep this in mind when choosing your mortgage lender.
There are also a variety of different loan options in this space, and the type of home you’re eyeing — not to mention its features and location (in a mobile home park, on land you own, etc.) — can determine what types of loans you can use to buy it.
Here’s what you need to know about mobile home loans before diving in.
Types of mobile homes
You might consider several types of “mobile homes.” First, there are mobile homes and manufactured homes. These are very similar, but for lending purposes, the construction date is the differentiating factor.
In addition, there are park model homes, which are mobile/portable properties you can move from one mobile home park to another as desired, and crossover modern homes, which are more like traditional homes.
Here’s a bit more about each of these:
Mobile home: These are factory-built homes manufactured before June 15, 1976 — the date the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) instituted new building regulations. Homes built before that date are ineligible for most standard mortgages. If you’re considering buying one, you may need to use a chattel loan, a personal loan or seller financing, if available.
Manufactured home: A manufactured home is a mobile home built after June 15, 1976. This means they meet HUD’s new building requirements and are therefore eligible for most major mortgage loan programs.
Park model homes: Park model homes are technically considered vehicles because they are small, movable, and portable. They don’t need to meet HUD regulation standards and don’t qualify for traditional mortgages. You’ll usually need to use a chattel loan, personal loan or another type of financing to buy these properties.
Crossover modern homes (CrossMods): A factory-built home that is of a higher quality and includes features of a traditional site-built home, including porches, carports and garages. Some options are also designed to be more energy-efficient.
Types of mobile home loans
Depending on what type of mobile home you’re buying, you may have a number of financing options at your disposal.
Typical loan options include:
Traditional mortgages: These are mortgages you’ll use to purchase a manufactured home that is already built. They include conventional, Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Agriculture (USDA) loans.
Construction mortgages: If you’re looking to build your manufactured home to your specific liking, this type of mortgage can help. It covers the costs of the home’s construction and land preparation in phases.
Personal loans: Another option for purchasing mobile or manufactured homes, though they may have lower loan limits than traditional mortgage products. You’ll typically need excellent credit; otherwise, you’ll face high interest rates.
Chattel loans: Chattel loans can finance movable property, such as a park model home, machinery, or equipment. You cannot use chattel loans to purchase land.
Seller financing: If you’re purchasing a mobile home or manufactured home from a previous owner, they may let you pay them for the property in set payments (plus interest) over time. This is called seller financing, and while it sounds nice, be wary. According to the Pew Charitable Trusts, approximately 20% of mobile home loans are financed through risky contracts with sellers and other parties that lack federal or state protections.
If you’re unsure what the best way to finance your home purchase is, you can talk to a financial advisor or mortgage broker. They can point you in the right direction for your goals and property type.
How to qualify for a mobile home loan
The requirements you’ll need to meet for a mobile or manufactured home loan depend on the lender you choose and the type of mortgage program you’re using. With traditional mortgages, you’ll need to meet specific credit score, debt-to-income (DTI) and loan-to-value ratios, and you’ll often need to provide a down payment, too.
With others, you may need to meet specific home and land requirements (for example, you might need to own the land you’re buying a home on, or you might need to purchase a new property or one with a permanent foundation).
Generally, you’ll need a credit score between 500 and 680 and a down payment of up to 35%. In some cases, you may be able to use the land you’re buying or building on as collateral in lieu of a down payment. You will usually need a DTI of 50% or lower to ensure you can make your payments.
Latest news in mobile and manufactured homes
The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act took effect July 11. It removes the permanent chassis requirement from the federal definition of a manufactured home and raises FHA Title I loan limits for manufactured homes bought as personal property. HUD still has to write standards for chassis-free homes, and state rules may take longer to change.
Mobile and manufactured homeowners face rising costs as lot rents keep climbing. A recent story on ABC27 News highlighted the plight of mobile homeowners in Pennsylvania, who are experiencing this trend.
According to the report, private companies are purchasing mobile home communities and increasing fees and rents. In one particular case cited by ABC 27 News, lot rents in the Red Maples Acres community have doubled over the past few years, with one mobile home owner now paying $900 a month.
To address concerns over mounting costs, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed House Bill 1250 in June 2025. It would tie annual lot rent increases to inflation, with exceptions for documented extraordinary operating costs. The bill has been in a Senate committee since, and the two-year session ends this year.
Best mobile home loan FAQs
Can you get a loan for a mobile home in a park?
Yes. Since you’re only buying the home, not the land, you’ll need to take out a chattel loan, which usually carries a higher interest rate, or an FHA Title 1 loan, which offers more competitive rates.
Can you get an FHA loan on a mobile home if you don’t own the land?
Yes. FHA Title I loans can finance a home-only purchase or a land-and-lot purchase, and currently have a limit of $105,532 for a single-section home. Title II loans can finance the purchase of a manufactured home as long as it is legally classified as real property, and have a baseline floor of $541,287.
How much do you need for a down payment on mobile home?
You can buy a mobile home with 0% down if you finance with a VA or USDA loan. An FHA loan requires a 3.5% down payment for a first-time purchase and 5% for a subsequent loan. Chattel loans require a higher down payment, up to 35% for borrowers with poor credit.
Is it harder to get a mortgage for a mobile home?
Yes, it is. Fewer lenders offer this type of loan, and denial rates are higher than for site-built homes. Borrowers who take out a chattel loan also face higher interest rates and are denied more often.
Can you refinance a mobile home loan?
Yes, you can. You gain the biggest advantage if you can convert the mobile home into real property and permanently affix it to land. You can then refinance into a conventional loan at a lower interest rate compared to a chattel loan.
