TV host who proposed to Tom Brady in a wedding dress arrested by ICE after years on the run

November 3, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

Tom Brady took plenty of hits against the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, but dodging Ines Gomez Mont at Media Day was his cleanest escape of his career.Gomez Mont, the former Mexican TV host, now finds herself sitting in a Florida detention center after ICE picked her up in Miami last month over an immigration violation.EX-CIA OFFICER FOUND WITH OVER $40M IN GOLD BARS PLEADS GUILTY TO $194M FRAUDThat arrest capped years on the run from a separate $160 million fraud and money laundering case back home, which originally kicked off when Mexican prosecutors obtained arrest warrants for Gomez Mont and her husband, attorney Victor Manuel Alvarez Puga, back in 2021.Longtime NFL fans will undoubtedly remember Gomez Mont from Super Bowl week in 2008, right before the Giants famously wrecked New England’s perfect season. She showed up at Media Day in a wedding dress and veil, then proposed to Brady on live TV. He laughed it off and reminded her he was already with Gisele Bündchen.CANDICE SWANEPOEL: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT TOM BRADY’S VICTORIA’S SECRET MODEL GIRLFRIENDFast-forward nearly two decades.Mexican prosecutors allege the couple ran a sprawling shell-company network tied to government contracts worth roughly $160 million, including prison system funds. The allegations include organized crime, money laundering and tax fraud.Once the warrants were issued, the couple left Mexico, with Gomez Mont hopping on social media to claim her innocence before the pair was eventually tracked down in South Florida.Mexican authorities kept up the chase.Officials say they requested her provisional detention for extradition in late 2025 and prepped a formal request with the Department of Justice. Alvarez Puga had already been picked up by ICE on immigration violations before posting bail, and his current location has been kept quiet.THE CRAIG CARTON SHOW–UNFILTERED, UNAPOLOGETIC AND UNMISSABLE. DOWNLOAD HIS DAILY PODCAST NOW!As for Gomez Mont, she remains held at the Broward Transitional Center while her legal team fights back with a sealed habeas petition. A federal judge recently shot down her emergency request to block a transfer out of South Florida, though the court did order the government to explain why her petition shouldn’t be granted. That leaves her balancing two separate legal tracks: her ongoing U.S. immigration detention and Mexico’s extradition request.Sidestepping that wedding proposal turned out to be Brady’s easiest read of the week, and seven rings later, things worked out just fine.Send us your thoughts: alejandro.avila@outkick.com / Follow along on X: @alejandroaveela

College Football Playoff Rankings: Miami takes top spot, Indiana cracks top five in first official release

November 3, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

The first College Football Playoff rankings have been released, and despite a scare at Chapel Hill this past weekend, it’s the Miami Hurricanes taking the top spot at No. 1 overall. It was widely expected that would be the case, though, as the official top 25 rankings for the playoffs were released on Tuesday night.Of course, only 12 teams will be playing for the chance to win the national title when the rankings see its final call later this year.CLICK HERE FOR MORE OUTKICK SPORTS COVERAGEThe Hurricanes remain undefeated thanks to quarterback Darian Mensah, wide receiver Malachi Toney and running back Mark Fletcher Jr. getting the job done against Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels on Saturday night. It was no easy feat, though, as UNC gave their best shot in a back-and-forth second half until Miami finished the job.Behind Miami in the first rankings are No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Utah, No. 4 Indiana and No. 5 Alabama, as the committee felt confident with its top five.THE CRAIG CARTON SHOW–UNFILTERED, UNAPOLOGETIC AND UNMISSABLE. DOWNLOAD HIS DAILY PODCAST NOW!It was a true roller-coaster for the reigning national-champion Hoosiers and head coach Curt Cignetti, who saw some miracles take place to keep them from getting upset by Minnesota at home on Halloween. The Golden Gopher’s Luke Drzewiecki shocked everyone in Bloomington when he drilled a 60-yard field goal to take a 16-13 lead with just 19 seconds to play in the fourth quarter. But Indiana had its own kicker, Paddy McAteer, match him with his own 60-yarder at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime, where the Hoosier escaped to move their record to 8-1.It was an interesting choice to have the Hoosiers in the top five considering its loss to Ohio State earlier this season, and struggling to get back to dominant wins, though their record indicates just one loss.Rounding out the top 12 teams are No. 6 Kentucky, No. 7 Texas, No. 8 UCLA, No. 9 BYU, No. 10 Ole Miss, No. 11 Notre Dame, and Ohio State is the 12th. However, they would fall out of the CFP if the season ended today, considering No. 25 Boise State, a Group of 6 team, would replace them with five conference champions guaranteed in the 12-team bracket. The Buckeyes especially were a team to watch how the committee viewed them. With backup quarterback Luke Fahey under center now as Julian Sayin is sidelined indefinitely with a serious throwing-arm injury, they fell to USC over the weekend, 30-18. USC came in at No. 20 in the initial rankings. These rankings will be changing in coming weeks, and all eyes will be on the Hurricanes facing Notre Dame on Saturday to see if that has any impact. The Fighting Irish are on the cusp at the moment, but a massive win over Miami would change their season trajectory. However, Notre Dame doesn’t have a win against a currently-ranked team, and there are no ranked teams in their remaining games after Miami, making this matchup a pivotal moment for the program.”They are a very good football team,” CFP committee chair Hunter Yurachek, who serves as athletic director for Arkansas, said during ESPN’s rankings show. “But when you look at Notre Dame’s schedule, and the wins that they have versus the teams that are ahead of them, they don’t have that signature win right now.”Teams on the bubble who are looking to improve their stock moving forward are No. 13 Tennessee, No. 14 LSU, No. 15 Texas Tech and No. 16 Wake Forest. Houston, Missouri, Iowa and USC round out the top 20, respectively, followed by No. 21 South Carolina, No. 22 Arizona, No. 23 Oregon, No. 24 Florida and No. 25 Boise State.SIGN UP FOR THE DAILY OUTKICK NEWSLETTER

Democrats hold firm in Georgia as Republicans fail to flip prized Senate seat

November 3, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

The Fox News Decision Desk projects that Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia has defeated Republican challenger Rep. Mike Collins.Ossoff, once considered by the GOP to be the most vulnerable Democratic senator seeking re-election in the 2026 midterms, will now keep his job representing the southeastern battleground state in the U.S. Senate. He took an early lead in the race when polls closed Tuesday night, which only expanded as the hours wore on.His victory means Georgia, a one-time red bastion that swung to the center in recent years, will continue to have two Democrats representing the state in the Senate. He’s the second Democratic senator to hold his seat on Tuesday night after Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., was also projected to win re-election.DEMOCRACY ’26: STAY UP TO DATE WITH THE FOX NEWS ELECTION HUBSenate Democrats’ campaign arm said in a statement upon his victory, “A workhorse for the people of Georgia, Senator Ossoff has spent the last six years in the U.S. Senate providing outstanding constituent services, standing up for children, and fighting to make life better. Georgians sent him back to the Senate because they know he will always show up for them, and now he’ll continue putting Georgia families first.”Ossoff and fellow Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock were both elected in runoff elections at the end of the 2020 cycle, ending a decade and a half of Georgia’s all Republican representation in the Senate. Weeks earlier, former President Joe Biden became the first Democrat to carry the state in nearly three decades. But Georgia shifted back to the right in 2024, with President Donald Trump reclaiming the state as he won re-election to the White House. At the start of the 2026 cycle, Georgia was atop the GOP’s target list of seats to flip, as Republicans aimed to hold their 53-47 Senate majority. But while Ossoff built a massive campaign war chest as he cruised unopposed to renomination, Collins was part of a combustible three-way GOP primary Senate battle with Rep. Buddy Carter and former college football coach Derek Dooley, who was strongly supported by popular term-limited conservative Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.Collins and Dooley advanced to a June runoff, which Collins won thanks in part to an eleventh-hour Trump endorsement.SIGN UP TO GET THE POLITICS NEWSLETTERIn the general election showdown, Collins made illegal immigration a centerpiece of his campaign, spotlighting the Laken Riley Act, which he authored. The law requires the detention of certain illegal immigrants who are arrested for, charged with, convicted of or admit to committing specified offenses. Ossoff voted for the measure but has criticized the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement tactics.Collins also accused Ossoff of supporting policies that drove up inflation and taxes, while the senator targeted Collins over his backing of Trump’s tariffs and the war in Iran, which triggered a surge in gas and diesel prices and an overall rise in the cost of living.During their debates, Ossoff also put Collins on defense over a House ethics investigation into whether the congressman abused taxpayer funds by hiring the girlfriend of his former chief of staff for work she allegedly did not perform. Collins has insisted the issue is simply a “complaint” with no merit.Collins also faced heat over social media posts by his son-in-law — a social media influencer on the far right — that shared Nazi imagery and antisemitic conspiracy theories.Ossoff, meanwhile, faced questions over receiving campaign funds from Reid Hoffman, a venture capitalist whose name appeared in the Epstein files. While GOP-aligned outside groups initially spent big bucks to back Collins and make up for his massive fundraising deficit in his battle against Ossoff, the Republican spigot was cut back substantially in the final weeks leading up to Election Day. The move was a sign that many Republicans were giving up on their hopes of flipping the Senate seat in Georgia.Ossoff, whom pundits view as a potential 2028 Democratic presidential contender, has repeatedly said he has “zero interest” in running for the White House next cycle. And in a debate with Collins last month he pledged to serve out his full six-year Senate term if re-elected.The senator, a Georgia native, served as a national security staffer and legislative assistant for Rep. Hank Johnson before working as managing director of an investigative documentary production company. He first grabbed national attention in 2017, when he narrowly lost a special congressional election for a House seat that had long been a GOP stronghold.Collins, who is also a Georgia native, is the son of the late Rep. Mac Collins. A businessman and the co-founder along with his wife of a trucking company, he was first elected to Congress in 2022.

MICHIGAN: Voter Reports Intimidating Comment Made Inside Polling Place By Man Wearing Hoodie With Arabic Writing: “If you’re not here to vote for Abdul, then you better turn around!”

November 3, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: THE NEWS

A Michigan voter reported a concerning incident to an Oakland County Republican official this afternoon. According to the GOP official, whom I spoke with this evening, the incident reportedly happened inside the polling place near the check-in table. The unidentified voter approached the Republican official, who was placing signs for Republican candidates outside the polling place, and said a man he believes is an Abdul El-Sayed supporter approached him and another voter. According to the concerned voter, the man who approached him was wearing a hoodie with Arabic writing.  He told the GOP official the man appeared to warn him,  saying, “If you’re not here to vote for Abdul, then you should turn around!”
The GOP official provided me with a photo of the young male accused of delivering what is being referred to as “voter intimidation” inside the Highland Township polling place.
We blurred the face of the young man who allegedly intimidated voters to protect his identity, as we cannot verify the comment he made to the person who reported it.

Oakland County Republican Party Chair Vance Patrick tweeted about the incident shortly after it was reported to him. Patrick posted about the “credible reports of voter intimidation” on X. He also added a phone number for another voter who may have “witnessed anything.”
The Oakland County GOP is aware of credible reports of voter intimidation in Highland Township and is in contact with
@RNCVoteProtect regarding the situation. If you or another voter have witnessed anything, contact the hotline immediately: (269) 533-7788

Polls are closing in Michigan at 8 PM ET.

MIDWEST ELECTION UPDATES: Iowa Looks Good for GOP, Kansas Dems Big Turnout, Also Latest from Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota

USA map with Midwestern states highlighted.
Political Party Takeaways

Iowa: Republican early ballots are up 40% and Democratic up 20%, and every watchlist county moved toward Republicans. Measured as a share of each party’s registered voters, both parties’ early voting rose about 34%, so it’s even. The faster Republican growth mostly reflects more registered Republicans and fewer Democrats than in 2022.

Kansas: Democratic early ballots are up 42% and Republican up 17%. That’s an 8.4-point shift toward Democrats, using IKE Lab figures.ike-lab

Election Day section
It’s one table: place, number who voted today, time, comparison with 2022, and source. These counts cover only the few places that post them, so they’re kept out of the statewide numbers.

Cuyahoga County, Ohio: 203,484 people had voted in person by 2:42 p.m. Eastern, 81% of 2022’s total Election Day vote. Overall county turnout was 50.4% at 5:40 p.m. Eastern, against 47% final in 2022.indystar+1

Franklin County, Ohio: overall turnout was 51.8%, already past its 2022 final of 49%.indystar

Detroit: 42,984 had voted in person by 1 p.m. Eastern.michiganpublic

Douglas County, Kansas: 16,607 had voted at polling places by 3:30 p.m. Central. With early ballots, that’s 88% of the county’s 2022 final turnout.dgcoks

Green Bay: 9,600 had voted at the polls by 2:30 p.m. Central.wisconsinwatch

Madison: 16% of registered voters had voted at the polls as of 11 a.m. Central, but that can’t be compared with 2022 because the city changed how it counts (WisPolitics).

Iowa and Minnesota: I found no same-day counts.

A few local election offices do post today’s turnout during the day:

Douglas County, Kansas: 42,077 voters by 3:30 p.m. local time, early ballots included (county clerk).

Grand Rapids, Michigan: an hourly precinct report.

Ohio counties: live turnout widgets for Cuyahoga, Franklin and Hamilton. The site blocks automated access, so these figures can only be collected from local news reports.

Iowa: 42.1% of registered Democrats have voted early, up from 31.5% in 2022. For Republicans it’s 24.0%, up from 17.9%. Both rates grew by about 34%, so neither party is ahead statewide.

Why the two Iowa measures disagree: Democratic registration fell by about 64,000 since October 2022 and Republican registration rose by about 29,000 (2026 and 2022 Iowa SOS counts). Much of the Republicans’ faster ballot growth reflects that.sos.iowa+1

MORE FROM IOWA AND KANSAS…
Iowa counties: Republicans’ rate grew more in Polk, Dallas and Johnson. Democrats’ grew more in Linn and Scott. Dubuque and Sioux are about even.

Kansas: 42.4% of Democrats and 24.8% of Republicans have voted early. No comparable 2022 rate is published, so Kansas only gets the ballot comparison.

Amazon cuts more jobs as CEO touts record margins, retail gains

November 3, 2026 MMN Editor Filed Under: SUCCESS, The Street

Amazon has spent the past year reshaping its workforce, eliminating thousands of corporate positions while investing billions in artificial intelligence, robotics, and new consumer technology.

The company has repeatedly said the restructuring is intended to reduce management layers, improve efficiency, and allow teams to move faster.

But even after announcing approximately 30,000 corporate job cuts between October 2025 and January 2026, the reductions have continued.

Amazon carried out two additional rounds of layoffs in October, affecting its retail and devices businesses, just as the company reported record operating margins.

Amazon announces two more rounds of layoffs in October

On Oct. 7, Amazon eliminated hundreds of positions, primarily within its Stores division, which oversees its main e-commerce website.

According to Reuters, fewer than 1,000 white-collar employees were affected across teams, including customer service and selling partner services. Workers in the United States, India, and the United Kingdom were among those impacted.

More Layoffs:

Disney cuts 300 jobs and major overhaul puts hundreds more at risk

Microsoft cuts hundreds more jobs as restructuring deepens

Oracle layoffs top 2,500 workers as AI spending surges

The layoffs coincided with Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days shopping event.

An Amazon spokesperson said the company had adjusted parts of its Stores business to better support its priorities.

Then, on Oct. 28, Amazon eliminated up to 250 additional positions in its devices and services division, primarily affecting software development roles, Reuters reported. The division develops products including Kindle e-readers and Alexa-enabled devices.

The cuts followed several product launches, including new Kindle devices and an Alexa-powered alarm clock and photo frame. Amazon said the reductions would help it operate more efficiently and align staffing with its product plans.

Separate WARN notices filed in August also identified 269 Amazon positions in California and Washington with layoffs scheduled for October. It remains unclear whether those notices overlap with the two newly announced rounds.

A new WARN notice filed in Washington on Nov. 2 identified another 95 affected positions across Seattle, Bellevue, Sumner, Pasco and Redmond. The positions include software engineers, product managers, and operations employees, with separations scheduled between Dec. 7, 2026, and Jan. 25, 2027.

Some workers were notified on Oct. 7, coinciding with the retail layoffs reported by Reuters, although Amazon has not confirmed whether the reductions overlap.

Amazon layoffs continue after 30,000 corporate job cuts

The latest reductions follow two significantly larger restructuring announcements this year. As TheStreet previously reported, Amazon announced plans in January to eliminate approximately 16,000 corporate positions, following 14,000 cuts announced in October 2025.

The impact was particularly significant in Washington, where a subsequent WARN notice identified 2,198 affected jobs, primarily in Seattle and Bellevue. At the time, Amazon senior vice president Beth Galetti said the company was reducing bureaucracy, eliminating management layers, and increasing employee ownership.

Addressing whether broad workforce reductions would become a recurring pattern, Galetti wrote in a January employee memo, “That’s not our plan.” However, she added that individual teams would continue reviewing staffing needs.

The latest layoffs come as Amazon reports stronger financial performance.

According to its third-quarter earnings release, sales increased 12% to $201.9 billion, while operating income climbed 61% to $28.1 billion. CFO Brian Olsavsky described the company’s 13.9% operating margin as “our highest operating margin ever.”

During the Oct. 29 earnings call, CEO Andy Jassy also praised the performance of Amazon’s retail business.

“In stores, I think some folks are sleeping a bit on how much progress that business has made,” Jassy said.

“I’m not aware of another retail business approaching Amazon’s revenue size, hundreds of billions of dollars, with double-digit operating margins inclusive of ads that’s growing at this pace,” Jassy further added.

He pointed to more than $90 billion in additional gross retail sales over the previous 12 months and continued improvements in profitability.

And yet, despite these corporate reductions, Amazon’s overall workforce grew 4% year over year to approximately 1.638 million employees at the end of September 2026.

Big Tech layoffs continue across the industry

Amazon is not alone in reducing its workforce.

According to TheStreet’s September reporting, Microsoft disclosed another 277 job cuts in Washington as part of a broader restructuring, while Oracle cut approximately 800 additional positions in September based on WARN filings across Washington and California.

The reductions come amid broader pressure on technology employment.

According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, technology companies announced 165,925 job cuts through September, up 54% from the same period last year. Meanwhile, Bureau of Labor Statistics data showed employment in the broader information sector declined by 18,000 in August and another 10,000 in September.

This category includes telecommunications and media businesses, as well as certain technology companies.

Amazon CEO discusses growing role of robotics

During the October earnings call, Jassy also outlined Amazon’s expanding use of automation. He said the company now operates more than 1 million robots across its fulfillment network and expects their role to grow significantly.

Jassy predicted that many repetitive warehouse tasks currently performed by employees “will be done by robots,” although he emphasized that fulfillment centers would continue employing substantial numbers of people.

Amazon expects approximately $220 billion in capital expenditures this year, with most of that spending directed toward Amazon Web Services. However, the company has not directly attributed the October corporate layoffs to AI or robotics.

The cuts also come with Amazon’s plans to hire more than 300,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time workers across its U.S. operations for the holiday season. Those positions primarily support fulfillment, transportation, and delivery operations, rather than the corporate divisions affected by the October layoffs.

Scott Galloway’s Unhinged Tirade Against Elon Musk Takes A Very Dark Turn…

Scott Galloway’s Unhinged Tirade Against Elon Musk Takes A Very Dark Turn…

Marketing professor and anti-MAGA podcaster Scott Galloway launched an unhinged attack on Elon Musk, branding the billionaire a “traitor to the West” before invoking the infamous Rosenberg espionage case, which ended with the execution of two Americans during the Cold War.Galloway spewed the incendiary comments during a discussion with former technology journalist Kara Swisher about Silicon Valley’s growing influence, arguing that the United States’ obsession with billionaire innovators has created a dangerous double standard. However, what began as a familiar critique of Silicon Valley’s billionaire class quickly took a darker turn. Galloway compared Musk to aviation pioneer Charles Lindbergh, whose sympathies toward Nazi Germany before America’s entry into World War II remain a controversial chapter in U.S. history. Galloway then invoked Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, the American couple executed in 1953 after being convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage for the Soviet Union.”We lined up the Rosenbergs against a wall,” Galloway said, before insisting Musk should be held to the same standards as other traitors.Galloway stopped short of explicitly calling for Musk’s execution, but bringing up two spies who were put to death while calling him a traitor was a striking comparison. Here are Galloway’s remarks in full:Okay, so I’ll go fail first. I think the idolatry of innovators has gotten so out of control. I was talking to the secretary before this. If you go up and down the West Coast, you’re going to see literally companies. The West Coast is littered with multi-trillion dollar companies, and you get to the Canadian border, it stops. You get to the Mexican border, it stops. And yet these individuals are quick to credit their grit and their character for their success and blame the government for their failures. And what is so disappointing, that’s not my fail, because if you tell a 30-year-old male who’s Jesus Christ, he’s inclined to believe you. The fail is that we have begun believing through this ridiculous, unhealthy, and dangerous idolatry of innovators that they get to live by an entirely different standard. Elon Musk is a traitor to the West.[crowd applause]In the 30s, we had this incredible hero, Charles Lindbergh, an innovator, and he felt that we should be on the side of Germany. And a lot of people felt that way. We had spent tremendous capital, a lot of loss of young men in World War I, and we thought, you can understand, we don’t want to go back, right? And his view was we should partner with Germany and Hitler. What if, and this could have very easily happened, he was a hero. What if he’d raised the capital to buy Boeing? He probably could have done it. And then when we lent B-17s to run bombing runs over Germany to the RAF, what if he had figured out a guidance for a flight system and then mid-1940, before we were involved in the war, decided to throttle back those guidance systems and the blitzkrieg in London got worse, and more homes and more civilians were destroyed and killed respectively. What would we have done to Charles Lindbergh? But it’s uncomfortable and weird because we’ve decided someone who’s a trillionaire, makes a great EV and can land a rocket on scissors is held to a different standard. We lined up the Rosenbergs against a wall. This is a traitor to the West, and you should be held to the same standards as every other traitor in the West. The Rosenbergs were convicted in 1951 of conspiring to commit espionage for the Soviet Union and executed at New York’s Sing Sing prison two years later. Their case remains one of the most controversial espionage prosecutions in American history, particularly because of the severity of the punishment.Galloway’s remarks come amid an increasingly hostile climate surrounding Musk, with the billionaire facing criticism over his political activities and his role in the Trump administration.A shadowy international group calling itself The Capytistas is preparing to expose the private homes of some of America’s wealthiest individuals in a new campaign, according to a dossier viewed by WIRED.The group’s strategy is simple: Turn the private residences of the ultrawealthy into public information, potentially exposing properties their owners have gone to considerable lengths to keep out of the spotlight. The Capytistas claims to have secured more than $1.2 million in financial backing and intends to publish over 150 residential addresses, many of which it says have never been publicly disclosed.Elon Musk, his brother Kimbal, and members of Tesla’s board of directors are among the group’s initial targets. Its dossier reportedly contains 32 addresses associated with Musk and Tesla leadership.Beginning in January 2025, Tesla dealerships, vehicles, and charging stations became targets of arson, firebombings, gunfire, and vandalism across the country. In March 2025, then-Attorney General Pam Bondi announced federal charges against three suspects accused of attacking Tesla properties with Molotov cocktails, describing the violence as domestic terrorism.
